This is a long one so bottom line up front, if you want to miss deadlines, be lied to, scammed,…read morecheated and robbed, call Janazz! Read on to hear the story. I informed John of a tight deadline to get a network and database built and he assured me that he could make the deadline. I called several times for status updates. These calls seemed to annoy him and he continued to assure me that the deadline would be met. The original plan was for a list of required equipment to be provided and that I would purchase it and deliver it to John. He later called me and said that he would just pick up the equipment himself as that would be easier (actually that was just a way for him to over charge me by about $1000). The day the system was supposed to be ready, I receive a call from John less than 1 hour prior to the scheduled delivery time. He told me that there was a 'hardware software' issue. He said he purchased Microsoft server software that was not compatible with the hardware he purchased. (I'm not an IT person but I'm pretty sure any Microsoft software you purchase clearly lists the hardware requirements on the box.) He then requested two extra days. Two days later two of John's guys show up with the equipment and begin setting up. They link everything together and assure me that it is 'good to go'. I insist that they let me conduct a test run. Of course nothing works right so the guys begin working on the system that was 'good to go'. While one guy was working, the other guy hands me an invoice for the equipment and the service fee. I asked for actual receipts for the equipment. The guy initially said he didn't have any. He then miraculously produced a receipt for a few of the items. I noted that the date and time stamp on this receipt was for about two hours AFTER the originally scheduled delivery time, completely contradicting his story about 'software hardware compatibility issues'. I then noted that the price for the equipment was significantly marked up. When I confronted the guy about it, he told me that he gave me the wrong receipt (also a lie because the item numbers in the receipt matched the items they gave me). I then called John to discuss the discrepancies. He tried to dance around the issue, lie, then he said it's a standard mark-up. It was not standard, the mark-ups ranged from 10%-30%+.
