All had no openings for weeks. What? Honey, you are not in Portland Anymore! In Portland, you can walk in any of the 50-100 salons and get any service, no wait, 7 days a week. Yes, I know The Dalles and Hood River are not big cities like Portland, but assumed there would still be nail shops with several attendants. Turns out many are true salons with just the owner or two people providing services. Initially there were no openings at Hey Gorgeous but Sherrie had a cancellation and called me back. Said if I could be there by 11:30, she could fit me in. I bolted out of the house and took the 12 minute drive to The Dalles, a beautiful drive I must say. Located right in town, inside and on the second floor of Hampton Furniture, the Hey Gorgeous salon is very private and comfortable. Sherrie got right to work and I was immediately impressed with her skill and speed. She never once had to clean up the gel Polish; every swipe was meticulously applied and no need for any touch ups. The pedi was equally impressive. I've been having my nails done for 35 years and never has anyone done the service in the order that Sherrie did but after she explained her rationale, it made total sense. The real proof was how great my hands and feet looked when she was done. For the first time ever I had a gel Polish on my toes and let me tell you, it's the best! Lasts forever, stays shiny, and you can walk out of salon immediately with no fear of a smudge. I swim every day and wear Finns. Usually my toe Polish gets ruined but not with the gel. They still look perfect two weeks later. I'll never go back to regular Polish again! Received so many compliments on my nails! Looking forward to my next appointment with Sherrie and will definitely call and book my appointment in advance. Sherrie is super friendly and I enjoyed our conversation as much as the nail service. Five stars all the way!

Paint was coming off in a day and no nail shaping. Huge waste of money and then owner was super pissy when I only tipped 15%. I shouldn't have even tipped that much!

I had a large need and Katie and Cam were partnered up for many hours - they were so patient and so was everyone! They were very thoughtful and focused on my comfort and needs. After meeting so many of the students, teachers and managers - I will never go anywhere else for hair, waxing, aesthetics and massage (they do professional cupping!). I am not the only one - another client was in for her first facial after going to the CAC&M for hair and she also said she was not going anywhere else from now on either. I didn't catch her name but I was so disappointed. She couldn't figure out tap to pay so she had to redownload Venmo and her phone wouldn't work at all and all took about 30 minutes to even figure out. I checked to see if the school had tap to pay and they did so I didn't bring my card with me. I do NOT at all recommend getting waxed here, I've been there before and it was fine I'm pretty sure it was just this specific lady.

I've been to a lot of salons through the years, fancy expensive places all over the West Coast including a "celebrity salon" in LA, some boujee ones in Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, and even in Hood River, oh la la. Never really satisfied. But of all the places I've had my hair done, Colleen has been the absolute best! I have never been more happy with my hair and I'm sooo not easy to please.
