Page Taylor Bahura created such a truly relaxing environment, with attention to detail, very knowledgeable about skincare and her massage was perfection. I spend a lot of time in Europe and Page's facials are superior to any facial I have ever had. I recommend her highly! If you haven't experienced a facial with Page, you must. Wedding service review- Subi was recommended by my Hood River based wedding planner, for my Hood River wedding. Any bride would be nervous to go with a service she didn't know. I was! Turns out, Subi was absolutely awesome. I did a preliminary trial with a stylist. I believe her name was Mesa. She was really great. Informative for what I needed to expect, and a total professional. Day of the wedding, they were able to deal with some *interesting* family for hair and makeup (mother in law). Subi's team told me that my party was easy, but who knows if we really were. They made the whole pre-wedding easier and more relaxed than I could ever have hoped. If you're looking for hair and makeup in mt hood; I cannot recommend Subi more. I've been going to Subi Salon for about a year now, and highly recommend the salon. I've had a full hair "re-design," significant coloring, numerous cuts, and 2 Brazilian blowouts. The salon uses products from Davines, a product line that has been made in Italy for about 30 years, and has a serious focus on environmental issues and sustainability. The products pamper your hair, and lack the deep chemical smell & harshness that you find in some salons. The products are available to buy at the salon, and though not inexpensive, will leave your hair feeling healthy. The salon is small and personal, immaculately kept with free wifi and treats, easy street parking, and highly trained stylists. I've found that Subi totally works with me on whatever my current issues are, listens closely, but offers her own expertise to help me along or make suggestions. I think of my hair as a bit "tricky" - it's older hair, thick with some curl, hard to always style well. Add to that my general paranoia about trying new things ... but Subi is reassuring and has been great to work with. She is a complete professional, and thoroughly understands hair, color, and style. I am loving how my hair looks these days! Scheduling is very easy, and often can be done online via their cool scheduling bot. Or call - and you'll get a call back when they're available away from clients. Mesa did an excellent job on my color correction in progress and gave me on of the best haircuts and blow-outs I've ever had. It's rare for me to leave a salon and not go home and mess with the style myself. She got all my curly baby hairs smooth during the blow dry, which never happens, and and I left with perfect beach waves instead of ringlets. Super happy!! She was extremely professional and fun to chat with. I requested one style at the trial, a slightly different style the day of the wedding and then made her change it again (I was being a diva). This is the most expensive service ever received. I'm originally from California and I paid Beverly Hill prices for just a color, $300 then later a very minor trim $85. This is terrible service and won't throw my money away again bc it was just that. I didn't get even what I asked for. I'd advise against this salon. I will fly to California to see my kids every 8 weeks and have my beautiful color done perfectly for 1/3 the cost includes haircut and styling. read more

From reading the website write-ups I expected a great haircut and style. I did get an excellent color job, but my staff person offered only a style which was quite wrong for the shape of my face. So I ended up with generic blah. I really expected an expert cut and style and am very disappointed in the result. The private room was nice, but there was nothing of the relaxing atmosphere that I expected. No pleasant music. When I was offered a cooling drink, it came in an unopened can. I had to ask for a cup. And at check out they even charged for the fizzy water. For the prices charged, the experience was very disappointing. I will not return there. read more

Subi and her staff have always made me feel welcome. She is an excellent stylist and perceptive person, and my experience with her has always been outstanding. I love the intimate atmosphere of the studio space and complimentary beverages. I believe that she understands my type of hair better than most hairstylists (wavy/curly/frizzy) and I totally trust her to cut my hair in the style that is most flattering.
