It's been a week and I still don't recognize the person I see in the mirror. I booked a simple root…read moretouch up and trim back at the end of July and met with Meredith last Friday, September 9th. I've been going to Clutch/old Salon Visio for over 15 years growing up in the Gorge and wanted a fresh look for my sisters wedding. I've ALWAYS had an amazing experience at this establishment: I've gotten fantastic cuts and color jobs from Mackayla, Laura, Nicole and even Jen from Visio days. When I sat down and explained that I wanted to maintain my freshly done balayage but if there was time to do lowlights or something to add "dimension," I'd be ecstatic. We got started and I noticed Meredith was combing the root color throughout the length of my hair. We went to the bowl and she proceeded to gloss me for over an hour. When we got back to the chair, even with my hair sopping wet, I could tell something was wrong. I asked her "what happened to my balayage? Is it gone?" She responded "it shouldn't be..." But my fears were confirmed once my hair was cut and dry: she had over glossed and did an all over color, COMPLETELY covering up the look that I had already spent so much time, energy, and money getting up in Seattle 2 months prior. I was stunned, shocked, upset. I immediately started to cry and Meredith proceeded to grab someone else to come talk to me. I have to imagine this individual is the new owner/manager(?), she asked me what was wrong and I explained that I simply wanted to cover my roots. Instead of providing empathy or conflict resolution, she responded "OK well you have three options: You can leave now, you can stay so we can try and correct or come back for a color correction." I explained I was just visiting from Seattle and that something needed to be done today. So Meredith and I went back to bowl and proceeded to scrub my scalp raw with 8 (yes...8) detoxifying shampoo attempts. At some point, I heard Meredith bring another plastic bowl of color to (I am just speculating) "attempt" to correct right then and there. She ending up flicking some of the dye in my eye and at that point she threw up hands and said "I am so uncomfortable right now." She then told me that she felt "too uncomfortable" to properly style me and would dry my hair enough so I could leave. I can't begin to describe how devastated I was/am about this outcome. My hair is now a brownish red (thanks to the covered up blonde and God knows what else) and thinner than ever. I wasn't charge for the color but was requested to pay for the cut which is completely unacceptable after the experience I just had but paid Meredith just the same. I never received any follow up of any kind (email, text, phone, in-person) and to make matters worse: my sister had a cut and style with Meredith the next day before the wedding and she canceled hours before the appointment because she felt "too uncomfortable" given the circumstances with me. I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and tack behind this establishment I've been frequenting for over a decade. While this review is lengthy, I feel it necessary to say that I am not angry. I am not mad. I am just incredibly and inexplicably sad. I know it's just "hair" but it's also part of my identity as how I want to express myself stylistically and that's been taken away for the foreseeable future. I will not be returning to Clutch (painful to say), I do believe they have incredibly talented stylists but unfortunately, my experience has scarred me for life and best of luck to all who book a service with this establishment. It is certainly a shell of its former self.

I never write reviews, unless it's terrible- this was terrible…read more I needed my kid's hair cut asap, and since Hair Masters seemed to have immediate openings, I decided to give it a try. First off, we were immediately scolded for not wearing masks (the mandate is lifted) by the woman at the front desk. I argued it with my children, and she agreed to let my two daughters under 5 go without, but requested my son and I go next door to purchase them. Again.... No mandate. Being desperate for the hair cuts, I agreed (and was kind, despite my frustration .) So this woman proceeded to cut my Children's hair with her mask hanging around her chin! Felt a little hypocritical, but whatever. Oh it gets worse... she then takes about 2 minutes on my daughters hair (3 and 5) and the cut is almost unnoticeable. Then my son (8) goes to get his hair cut and it was literally the worst hair cut EVER! Meanwhile she's sweating profusely and occurs to me she's sick, like EXTREMELY sick cutting my Children's hair (and I'm suddenly thinking the masks weren't a terrible idea, only she's not actually wearing hers.) At that point I just want to get out of there, so think I decide to leave and go have someone else fix my kids hair elsewhere. She then proceeds to tell me EACH of my girls are up charged $10, because their hair is long. Seriously? She took off an inch, it was crooked, and took her 2 min. My total for three terrible kids hair cuts was $91!!! Please avoid this place at ALL costs! A home hair cut would have been way better quality, saved me nearly $100, and we wouldn't have been exposed to this whole nightmarish experience.
