While out in Hood River, I desperately needed a manicure as several nails were broken and jagged. Unlike Portland where there are dozens of walk in shops, the few in Hood River request appointments and they book weeks out Because they have Just one person doing nails. Heaven Nails & Spa takes walk-ins, although on weekends they do get crowded So I recommend setting up an appointment. Since it was my first time, I walked in and the wait was over an hour so I checked in, than ran some errands and came back. It is a small family business with about 5 technicians. I was checking out everyone's finished nails and whether it was acrylic, powder or gel, they all came out really nice. I had a gel manicure and I'm very happy with the results. Will see how long it lasts as that is the real test. The women who gave me the manicure was a bit distracted at times and that did make me nervous, especially when using the drill to sand off the previous polish. Some places wrap each nail with a cotton ball soaked in acetone then covered in foil to remove the old gel. Here you soak your nails in a bowl of acetone. Just letting you know because this can be drying on your nails and skin. The shop was clean and had several stations for pedicures as well as manicures. What I really appreciated was the very large selection of different brands of polishes with several shades of every color imaginable. I tend to wear shades of light blue in the spring and summer and the place I go to in Portland only has 2-3 options. And they never order replacement colors or new colors. Here, they had at least 20 blues for me to choose from and they were all pretty shades of aqua, light blue to deep blue. Located in a tiny strip mall on 12th street, they do have their own parking lot but it gets crowded. I was able to find a spot of the street and street parking is free in this part of Hood River. Will definitely come back and will call to book appointment. Open everyday but Sunday. read more

I have been coming here even 2-3 weeks for the last 8 months... the last two appts i have had they have asked me to wait an extra 45 minutes after my appt time or told me to come back 2-3 hours after my appt time. I absolutely love how they do my nails but because of this issue i will not be coming back. I live 45 minutes away and it just absolutely wastes my time... since I've been a loyal customer i truly think they need to revisit how they treat their loyal customers. Every time im here they take walk in's like crazy so i can see why they get ahead of them selves. Great place to get your nails done if your not short on time :) read more

A 15 minute manicure for $30. There was zero 'special' experience here. I guess having natural nails put me in a different category. The 'we don't want you' category. I can do better at home. And when was the 20% gratuity standard changed to 25%? Not to mention it was 100 degrees in there and the girl next to me was hacking it up, clearly sick. Went here to remove my full set nails for the first time. The lady who removed my fake nails seems to not be paying attention to what she was doing. While cutting the fake nails, she accidentally cut my real nail (thumb finger) and when she pulled it out she then realized she also cut my skin. After what she did on my thumb she did it again on my index finger. (Like, what is wrong with you??) I kept calm the whole time and I don't want to make a scene but it was really painful and sensitive (until right now.) I'm hoping it will not get infected. No problem with the new applied gel, it looks nice. But it would have been a better experience if I did not feel any discomfort at all. read more

I had an appointment for a manicure and pedicure. It took about 30 minutes for a technician to work on my. When I was getting my manicure, after painting and curing my gel nails, the technician put lotion on my hands and arms using her gloves that had debris and uncured gel polish on them. Then she wiped down my hands and arms with the dirty towel that had been used to remove my cuticles and paint my nails. After she was done, visible cuticle debris had gotten on my clothes and was rubbed into my arms. This felt like a sanitation issue and made me want to take a shower immediately. read more

We made an appointment for a manicure and a pedicure for my daughter and myself. When we arrived, we were told that they only had time to work on one of us. After about a 30 minute wait an older gentleman, started my daughters pedicure. He was not gentle. During the manicure her cuticles were cut badly enough for a second employee to intervene and try to stop the bleeding. I scheduled an appointment for my sister and myself and was clear that it was two pedicures at the same time. We arrived a few minutes early I said we had an appointment for two pedicures. We were invited to sit in the pedi chairs. A man immediately started on my sister, and nobody started on me. I assumed someone from the manicure station would start soon, but nope. We sat there for half an hour while people with no appointment walked in and got service, but no pedicure for me. After half an hour, a man from the mani station came over to start.
