This is my second review of Dr. Woldemicael's practice. I was a patient for 2 years and had routine dental work as well as a crown put in. As I've moved to an office downtown, I've found a new dentist closer to my work. When I went to my new dentist today, they told me that my crown was not put in properly and needs to be replaced. I have done everything right, but the crown Dr. Woldemicael put in has issues and has caused some decay. This is just 2 years after Dr. Woldemicael put the crown on! This is going to cost me a lot of money for something that already cost me a lot out of pocket at her practice. I am pretty upset. read more

I wanted to get a veneer for one of my front teeth because the bonding I had on it at the time was discolored due to age which really bothered me. Unfortunately, I had to rule out my regular dentist for the job when she told me she didn't even noticed one of my front teeth was partially fake. I came to Dr. Mimi after a recommendation from a friend and my vanity has thanked me ever since. Dr. Mimi and her wonderful staff listened to what I wanted and got me the perfect shade and shape after only 1 visit! Now I can't even tell which one of my teeth is made of veneer because it blends in so perfectly with the rest of my mouth. Dr. Mimi's drive for perfection and her friendly and knowledgable staff really impressed me. If they can get a tricky cosmetic procedure done with such ease, I can't imagine how thorough they will be with the other procedures. Dr Woldemicael is the absolute best Dentist I have visited in all my years. Incredibly patient, fantastic talent, thorough knowledge, and extremely professional. She is up to date on all of the latest advances and procedures, and does not compromise with the details. My family will be trusting our dental needs to these very very capable hands for a lifetime. Not ethical!! Quoted me with 8...yes, 8(!!!!) cavities & several sealants. Over $800 in dental work and I have really good insurance. I take care of my teeth. It did not make sense. I got a second opinion with ZERO cavities found. I'd skip these guys if yr new in town or haven't gone to the dentist for a while. They'll try to screw you out of some money. read more

My wife and I went here for 2 years. They're friendly and nice, but a bit hurried (not taking the time to explain what they're going to do, or why it is necessary). For minor dental work/cleanings, they're fine. We switched away after they screwed up a crown, leaving a gap underneath. They tried to charge me for handling the pain of the improperly installed crown. My wife's new dentist told her that Woldemicael's policy of replacing fillings because they're "too old" rather than actually failing is incorrect. So, I feel like I've been ripped off at this point, with unnecessary dental work (and pain). read more

They eventually made up the financial part of the problem. But to be honest, I really do not like this place, especially the person who has been keep calling me to take down my earlier review. If only you care about the patient a little bit instead of talking about how the review has effecting the business in such a negative tone, I would have took it off long time ago. My teeth still feel squeaky clean and it's been a few weeks since my cleaning. I love dr. Mimi and her staffs.They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and cared for. The hygienist was so thorough and gentle at the same time, it was honestly the best cleaning I had. She even takes the time to show me how to floss properly. I actually LIKE flossing now. The receptionist is very kind and knowledgeable. I could always come to her when I have questions about my insurance coverage. She helped me call my insurance a few times just to make sure I don't pay more than I need to. I feel like she really cares about people. I referred everyone I know to Dr. Mimi. I saw Dr. Mimi for almost a decade. Overall, I think she offers a very friendly and attentive practice. But, I began to question the quality of care she offered. As another reviewer mentioned, she replaced all of my old cavities, which is not standard practice and can actually have a negative impact on the enamel of your teeth. She routinely fills "micro-cavities" which can also unnecessarily disturb the enamel on your teeth, especially for those of us who are not prone to cavities. Finally, her staff pushes products hard. Fluoride rinses, tooth whitening, special tooth paste and night guards. I do not come to the dentist to be pressured by a sales team. My husband and I finally left her practice. read more

My family (son, husband and myself) have been going to Dr. Mimi for over 8 years now and we are really happy with the care. I am a HUGE wimp about pain and Dr. Mimi is so compassionate and always makes sure I feel comfortable. I agree with the person that said you can't feel it when she gives a shot! Her whole staff is upbeat and caring. Most of all, I appreciate that Dr. Mimi is a holistic dentist. Instead of making a "mouth guard" for my husband, she took the time to assess the way the muscles in his jaw were firing (with a fancy machine) and made him a custom orthotic (that looks like a mouth guard but is more high tech) - so now he doesn't grind his teeth. Dr. Mimi's office is very modern and I feel my appointments are very thorough. She uses lasers, digital imaging and even has a machine that can tell if you have the beginnings of a cavity so she can treat it before it becomes a problem. We love Dr. Mimi! read more

I had been seeing Dr. Mimi for over two years and just recently was victim of an intentionally misleading diagnosis by a Cleaning Technician, who suggested a expensive , aggressive (and completely unnecessary) procedure to "cure" a gum condition that I did not have. She told me I urgently needed to take care of this otherwise I would loose bone in my mouth. The technician was quick enough to offer a credit contract to pay the procedure. After looking for the advice of a periodontist at the University of Washington, (the only specialist that could diagnose such condition) i realized the Hygienist was trying to push an unnecessary and potentially harmful procedure. I will not be going to Dr Mimi again. In retrospect I wonder if everything else she told me I needed done in the past was actually necessary. She insisted in changing "old" fillings and on building a crown for a tooth my previous dentist had determined would be ok with just a root canal but no crown. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Woldemicael for two years. The dental work I've gotten has been adequate and her dental staff are all professionals, but I have some problems with her practice and customer service as a whole that have led me to seek dental care elsewhere: 1) Her staff sent an email requesting that we "like" the practice's page on facebook and cced the entire patient list, which is a huge HIPPA violation. 2) I felt like I was being sold on some dental program or a particular brand of electric toothbrush each and every time I came into the practice, which I could buy there for a "discounted" price. 3) When I called to get a copy of a receipt for my health savings plan and the front desk person was sick, no one offered to take a message and I was asked to call back "in a couple days" because "Patrick is really sick. Poor guy." TAKE THE MESSAGE. 4) This is totally intangible, I realize, but I felt like the staff were more concerned with talking to each other than providing patient care. When I got a filling in December, Dr. Woldemicael and Patrick stopped working on my teeth so they could sing Christmas carols to each other, which was profoundly annoying. I don't expect people to bow down to their patients, but overall I've felt like patients were getting in the way of the practice's good time. read more

I just revisited Dr Mimi last week to get fitted for a night guard, as the one from my old dentist is enormous and hasn't been feeling as comfy as when I first got it years ago. Dr Mimi and her staff were very patient and made me feel comfortable through the entire process and have been very thorough in making sure it fits properly. I had been driving to Renton from Seattle for the past 14-years to see my dentist. I finally got sick of the commute and had a friend recommend Mimi Smiles. I was able to walk to my appointment from Bryant! Big plus. But more importantly I felt like their care was very thorough. Mimi and her staff are very friendly and professional! After moving to NE Seattle from Queen Anne, I wanted to find a dentist closer to work/home and she's great! My first visit was a thorough cleaning and examination and they were very gentle and informative. I shared with Dr. Woldemicael that I was interested in getting some minor cosmetic alignment done because my smile has bothered me since I was young. She suggested I consider Invisalign or Clear Correct straightening trays, as her office offers both options. She kindly walked me through what the process would entail and I was back a couple months later to get lab impressions of my teeth. My Invisalign trays were ready a couple weeks later and she's guided me every step of the way. I am now on week 6/20 using Invisalign and I can already see and feel an amazing difference in my smile and bite! I highly recommend her practice. They also accept most insurance plans. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Woldemicael for three years. During this time, I had all of my old filings replaced, and had a crown done. I am very satisfied with all of the work. I also had a chipped tooth restored and it looks totally natural. I get great service every time I come here. I'm always greeted with coffee, tea and a smile. When I complained of back pain, they gave me a heated pad. The tastefully decorated waiting room is comfortable and filled with magazines. The equipment is state-of-the-art. The bathroom has nicely scented soap and hand lotion (like a spa). What else I say? I really recommend this place. read more

I was beginning to develop a slight fear of a firm handed dentist a friend of mine recommended I go here it was a little farther away for me but it was worth it! The office is so cute and profesional. They had complimentary drinks in the lobby and everyone was so friendly I felt like I had ben coming there for years! I had to have some work done and it was actually a comfortable experience! between her gentle touch and the neck pillow and blanket it was done before I knew it! This is a dental visit I actually look forward to coming to - every time! I've had three appointments and can honestly say that each and every time I was treated like royalty. I felt like my safety, comfort, and happiness were always their #1 priority. This office is the Four Seasons of dentistry! Dr. Mimi is compassionate, precise and efficient. My teeth felt the cleanest they've felt in years after my first cleaning. My exam was extremely informative, and everything was explained to me thoroughly. I got my teeth whitened there as well, and have been getting compliments on my smile almost every day since! The dental assistant, Emily, is the best I've ever experienced; smart, considerate, and fun. What a combo! I especially appreciate how she takes the time to slowly explain each and every step that is going on to ensure your understanding of the process. (It also helps me stay calm and anticipate what is to come.) I do not well with dental work - and I mean panic attack bad - but Dr. Mimi sat with me the entire time, reassured me, calmed my nerves and then did a stellar, painless job filling my cavities. I couldn't say enough positive things about this dental practice. Their personalized approach to care is second to none and I just have to say that having just moved here from Los Angeles and only having ever been to the same dentist my entire life, finding Dr. Mimi's office has been like striking gold.
