Anytime we think sushi, we head to Zen! The rolls were amazing and delicious! We had an odd number of people, so it was a short wait. Service was good but a bit crowded. It was a busy Friday night. We will be back for more rolls soon!

This is the sushi boat for two with sashimi, nigiri, and sushi. It also came with either choice of salad or soup for two.

My daughter looked up a place for us to go have sushi as we were having a mother daughter weekend in Asheville. She found this place and we went and it was the best place that we ate at all weekend long. The service was fantastic the place was clean the food was delicious. I'll definitely eat there again when we're in the area. If you love sushi, this is the place for you.

Spicy Tuna Roll & Spider Roll; both were delicious!

Great takeout experience this evening! We ordered a few sushi rolls and an appetizer; easy fast service over the phone and our food was ready shortly. We ordered spring rolls, a Spider Roll (fried soft shell crab, cucumber, lettuce, avocado and mango), a Sweetheart Roll (spicy crunchy shrimp, cucumber & avocado inside; salmon, lemon slices, & wasabi mayo sauce on top) and a Spicy Tuna Roll. Everything was great; we truly loved it all and ate it all! The sushi was well made and extremely flavorful. We also enjoyed the spring rolls, they were hot & crispy and the sauce on the side was delicious. The sushi was the star. Would love to dine in next time we're in town and sample some more sushi rolls and explore the menu. Thank you for a great dinner!

Crazy Tuna* was a good roll that was fresh tasting.

We stumbled across this place on a busy Friday night. They graciously saved a table for us after a quick phone call and the dishes we ordered were all enjoyable. The fish and veggies were fresh and the staff were all friendly. If you order one thing off their menu I recommend the jalapeño bomb appetizer!

It was not overly busy, but definitely on the noisy side, which was expected due to all the hard surfaces. It could get loud if it was busy. I was greeted promptly, and my server arrived moments after I sat down. I ordered the Miso soup, a Red Blossom roll with tempura shrimp, and the Yakisoba with chicken. The miso soup was great, a 5. The red blossom roll was very good, tasty with a nice crunch from the tempura, a 4.5. The yakisoba portion was huge, it was a bit on the savory / bland side for my taste, but it's been a good 10 years since my last yakisoba, so a 3.5. I'll likely get two lunches out of the leftovers. The men's room was very clean. Overall, a four star rating. I may well be back, if so, next time I'll either get a second hand roll, or try something else. Their hibachi dishes sound interesting.

It is located in downtown Asheville so there is no immediate parking lot but there are some places nearby or street parking, The inside is very modern and there is seating both inside and outside. Our server was very friendly and service was very prompt! My family got the Lo Mein with Chicken, Chow Fun with Beef, Sautéed String Bean, Buddha Bean Curd Rolls, Crystal Shrimp Dumplings, and Spicy Chicken. I loved the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings! The wrapper was very tender and the shrimp filling was delicious. It tasted very authentic to me. I also loved the Sautéed String Bean as it had the right amount of garlicky sauce. The Lo Mein was made with thinner than usual noodles but still tasted good. I think the Chow Fun tasted a bit off. It kind of tasted a bit sweet and like drunken noodles at some points as opposed to the traditional smoky flavor that the dish has. The rice noodles that were used were also thin as opposed to the usual wider noodles. As for the Spicy Chicken, it tasted solid. I liked the slight crisp before biting into each piece and it was not really spicy. I definitely tasted the cumin (I am not a super big fan of), which is a popular flavor found in Szechuan cuisine. Overall, I think this is a nice spot for some Chinese food, especially being near the mountains which is more isolated. I would probably rate it a 3.75/5 stars if I could. I wish chicken feet were part of their dim sum menu (it is pretty small and there are no rolling carts in case anyone is wondering). I do think some flavors of the food I tasted seem to cater a bit more to the Western taste palate (my parents agree as well), but I enjoyed my time here.

It's light and filling. The ramen bowls are rich and the miso vegetarian Ramen is much more bold, flavorful than I had expected. The carrots and roots were caramelized with a sweetened hint. The ramen bowls are generous in size. I'm bookmarking this place to come back!!! The staff were extremely helpful. I mentioned I was looking for vegetarian options, and the bar tender thoughtfully guided me through the various options on both the tapas and ramen menus. That made for a great experience. In terms of the food, I opted for the miso eggplant and the garlic butter broccoli. Both were excellent. The miso eggplant is served as well cooked Japanese eggplant with a light tempura treatment and somewhat sweet miso glaze. Not too heavy, but still delicious and nicely textured. The broccoli was perfectly cooked with lots of flavor. It made for a nice pairing. In terms of beer, they had a few different local beers on tap. I went for a local pale ale. Great. In any case, this place is highly recommended. I suspect their vegetarian ramen would probably be pretty good, but that was a little heavier than what I was looking for.
