Had an hour swedish massage and it was far from relaxing. It was the weirdest most awakward massage I have ever had. This used to be my go to place but it will be my last time. The first couple massage I had were good but the last two I have had were terrible, the most recent one I would not even call a massage. There was a lot of picking up of my arms and legs and shaking (weird) and stretching..not much muscle massage at all which was very disappointing. Therapist gets a 5 star ! Adriana is Amazing with a capital A. The two star comes from the Old, worn out Cheap dirty linens !!!! Smell terrible !! The front desk is often unmanned, very annoying. Several times I've gone in and it smells like dog. I'm allergic to dogs and have immediate reactions; so my nose is stuffy and I'm sneezing during massages. I told whoever answered the phone that I needed to reschedule. She cancelled my appointment and attempted to end the call. I repeated my request to reschedule and she got my name wrong twice. When she asked me to repeat the spelling of my name again I spoke up assuming she couldn't hear me seeing as how I had to repeat myself so many times in one phone call and she told me there was no need to yell. I called on a Friday afternoon and was able to get in Saturday morning, receptionist was friendly over the phone and in person. Everything was clean. The massage was very nice especially for the price. I loved that you didn't have a pushy sales person trying to sign you up for a membership after your massage like at some other places. read more

My husband and I get a monthly couples massage - he gets a Swedish massage and I get a prenatal. I always see Erica - my husband alternates as to who is available to work with Erica whenever we're scheduled. We have never had a bad experience - our therapists are always very sensitive to our individual needs, and we both eagerly look forward to our massages. I have been here 15 or more times, and recommend them to everyone. The front desk is efficient and the service is exceptional. I used to go to Massage Envy but did not like the strong sales pressure and the contract (with the hidden $10 monthly). Zen is less, no contracts or sales pressure what-so-ever. I have had several different folks perform the massage, and never had any compliants. As I read the negative reviews, I'm thinking that you truly are treated the way you treat others, and if you believe you are always being treated badly...well, that may be more internal than external. Great place! The price is great. And the quality is not compromised! The front desk crew is always so friendly and helpful. I was even there one time when the shared a wall with the Sprint store and Sprint was getting kind of loud--one of the front desk ladies went right over there and made sure they got quiet. Now that Sprint store is gone, no problems at all with that! They are also always so flexible with my time and make sure to accommodate my schedule. They have extended hours and many people on staff so if you don't have a preference on a masseuse then you can normally get an appointment within a couple of days. read more

Very disappointed and I didn't even step foot in the building. I had a couples massage scheduled a month in advance and then the day of I got a call with a message left saying my appointment time was no longer available because a therapist had something come up(Which I understand happens, they have lives too) And I needed to call back if I wanted a later slot. Called back as soon as I heard the message, about an hour later and was told the later slot was taken already. Spoke with a manager who tried to resolve the issue but unfortunately it was too little too late. The issue was handled incorrectly by their front desk and I will never make an appointment here again. This is an unreliable establishment that obviously does not care enough to even have a therapist on call for instances just like mine. It was mine and my husbands first night away from our one year old and instead of starting it out with a relaxing massage, it started out with unpleasant, frustrated phone calls because this place is unreliable and runs their business poorly. read more

I received a 1-hour Swedish massage as a gift, and it was very pleasant! It was my first massage and, while I expected something a little more intense (next time I'll go for the deep-tissue and see if that fits the bill), it was a nice, relaxing experience. The reason for 3 stars? A couple of reasons, the first of which is that it was more like a 40 minute massage. Here's the rundown: - My session was at the top of the hour (let's say 6...I'll be going back and don't want this review to make for any awkward encounters) and I arrived 10 minutes early as requested. However, I sat in the waiting room for 15 minutes before being called back to the room (making the time now 6:05), where I was briefed on what the therapist would be doing (this took about 3-5 minutes, let's be generous and make the time 6:08). - I disrobed and waited for the therapist to come in, which she did after 5 minutes (now the time is 6:13); she commenced to the task at hand and then once the actual massage was complete, we chatted in the room before she left for me to get dressed (another few minutes). - When I got up to put my clothes on, I glanced at the clock and saw it read 6:58, meaning the therapist actually stopped the session around 6:55. In total, I lost 18-20 minutes of what - in my opinion - should have been straight-up massage time. Reading this you may think I am being nitpicky about the time, but I really wasn't watching the clock like a hawk. I will say that whenever I'm partaking in the social convention that is a scheduled appointment, I become acutely aware of when my time is not being used as I believe it was intended or portrayed. I was simply looking forward to an hour-long massage, not an hour-long *trip*. The second reason for only 3 stars: as I mentioned, this was a gift, and the gift card said it included gratuity (obvs there was no amount shown, just that it was included), so I showed up with just my gift card (no cash). When the receptionist took my card, she said "your session includes a $5 gratuity", which I immediately saw was exactly $5 LESS than Zen Spa recommends for a 1-hour massage because it was typed out on an actual placard at their front desk. Uhhhh, WTF? Why would you offer a gift card with gratuity and then shortchange your therapists? Or even worse, why would you make a customer with a gift card feel obligated to (or guilty if they don't) shell out money because the gratuity you "included" doesn't meet your own minimum standard? A note to ALL businesses: make sure any gratuity you include with a gift card is up to snuff with everyone's expectations, and don't be witless and tell the recipient of the gift what that amount is. The only thing you should be saying is "thank you for coming and I hope you enjoyed your service." Sorry for the rant...it just started the whole experience off on the wrong foot. Their prices seem reasonable and, like I said, I will probably return for a deep-tissue massage; however, if my time is cut short again, I will not go back for a third visit. Great service. First time customer. Was told on the phone when I scheduled of the cancellation policy in advance. If you do have to cancel there should be no surprises as to what to expect. They require a 24 hour notice. If you do not cancel before then you will be charged for your appointment. Got there 10 minutes early as requested, filled out the new customer form and read the policies. Had a 2pm appointment. The masseuse came to the waiting room exactly at 2. As described on the new customer form I was given 5 minutes to get situated in the room. The masseuse came back in at exactly 2:05pm. The session from there was just as expected, a relaxing Swedish massage. She was so good at it youd think she was using some kind of special massaging device and not her hands and arms. At exactly 2:55pm the session ended to give you time to get dressed, again as described in the new customer form. I got dressed, grabbed a water bottle and was out the door by 3pm. $44.95 + $15 tip well spent. read more

I have been using Zen for years my family often gets me gifts cards. On September 1 I had a horrible experience my normal girl I used was not available so I saw someone new. I always get a Swedish massage I don't like deep tissue. My massage therapist was nice enough I explain to her I liked light to medium pressure. I asked he's several times to lower pressure, at one point she was using her nails in my skin, than when she got to my hands Bending my thumb all the way back, things got a lot worse got to shoulders pushing my shoulder back so far I was in pain. I stop the massage something I have never done I just could not go on with the severe, The massage therapist told me she never had this happen to her in 30 years she guessed she had it coming to her. Wow really like she was trying to make me feel horrible which worked. When I went to check out the guy and girl up at front desk told it was no charge and wanted me to reschedule with a different therapist I I explained to him I was in no mindset to reschedule. I was surprised not here from anyone from zen and still haven't. Needless to say I didn't leave their felling very Zen and don't plan on going back. read more

I gave this place a BIG FAT ZERO! I just called to make my first appointment. and the receptionist, Anna was extremely rude. I called to make an appointment for Friday evening and when she told me the time I couldn't make out the time( since she sounded so bored and half asleep). When I asked her to repeat the time she acted irritated. At the end of the call she didn't even say thank you even though I did. I just got "um, OK., bye. When I called back two seconds later to cancel my appointment and asked for a manager I was told by Anna again that there is no manager. She did not take down my phone number or anything and she informed me that she would let her boss know what I thought she did wrong because all she did was follow a script. You either need a better receptionist or a better script, maybe even both. I am an esthetician and I will let all of my clients know not to call UnZen massage. read more
