It was my first time at Gina's Massage, and I brought my elderly father-in-law, hoping we could both relax. The service was okay--not terrible, but definitely not great. I specifically asked my masseuse for a deep tissue massage, but it felt more like she was just rubbing lightly. The hour went by really fast. As most people know, you have to pay before the service, and tipping is supposed to be optional afterward. To my surprise, Mona, the masseuse, forced me to give a $20 tip each--one for her and one for my father-in-law's masseuse! She told me they only get paid through tips. I initially wrote in a $20 tip for both of them, but she printed out a new receipt and made me rewrite the tip amount that she insisted on. I felt pressured and uncomfortable, especially because my father-in-law was still in the room getting his massage. I agreed to the amount just to avoid any conflict, but it left a very bad impression. I understand this is a business, but this kind of experience is unacceptable. This was my first experience with Gina's Massage. While I appreciated them getting me in last minute for a 1 hour massage, I didn't enjoy my experience. Upfront, I was never asked what I wanted worked on or what areas of concern I had. I also didn't appreciate paying for my massage/providing a tip prior to my experience. Rather than a blanket or sheet, I was covered by a beach towel and it didn't fully cover my feet. I also received majority of my massage OVER the beach towel and no oils were used. If oils were an extra charge, I wasn't aware. I just assumed that was part of the massage. Overall, I left very disappointed and not relaxed. Poor service, deceptive pricing & payment required to be made upfront. They wanted to charge more than what was agreed to over the phone for the service. The lobby was EMPTY and after three minutes there I could see why. Cash Only or you get charged a penalty for paying with debit or credit. I will not return. Don't judge a book by its cover. I have been a loyal customer to Gina's massage for a few years now. The look of it is not very luxurious. However the massages are the best. I have been to many massage places that charge way more and walked away not feeling that I had a massage at all. I could not bend over because my back hurts so bad and after doing a session with Ruby adding some hot stones my back is totally relieved. I highly recommend this location. My husband got me a 90 min massage for my bday and it was fantastic. Don't be fooled by the mediocre decor and rooms. If it's a great massage you want, that is what you will get! Ruby was my massage therapist and she hands down provided the best massage I've ever had throughout the full 90 min. I think personally 90 min might be a little long for me so I may do 60 or 75 min next time. But for the price it was so worth it! Small place in a strip mall next to Price Chopper and a tax place, seems like it won't be good due to the low $39.95/hr massage advertised. It was THE best massage I have ever received! And I have had my share of massages being in the sports medicine/healthcare field. There are 2 masseuses-Gina (the owner, she charges $49.99) John-who I had, who's the $39.99 masseuse. Catch to John-he's blind. This may be the single most determining factor as to why he was so good! Whenever I have to assess muscle injuries, I often close my eyes to imagine to muscle fibers and bony landmarks better, well John does this naturally! I never imagined having a massage from a blind guy, but it makes SO much sense that I've been the blind one all along! (was that a pun?! If you want a "relaxing spa-type experience," this may be for you. If you want 'work done' on specific problem areas etc, look elsewhere... I don't get many massages, but I've had good ones. I had a lot of pain in my feet and needed that area worked. Beware the other comments that say 'no English' - this is not exaggeration. I couldn't communicate with any of the staff in the store. After asking for the deal that was posted on the door, the front-desk clerk actually had me talk to the manager on the phone, who told me I had to buy the more expensive one. The masseuse said no more than 'hi' and 'bye', and I wasn't able to communicate what I needed. Again, if you're going for relaxation it's good. I decided to enjoy the service I'd paid for, even if it wasn't what I wanted. It felt nice! But my feet still hurt. read more

It was so inconceivable to be able to call at 7:30 and request a two hour massage for both my sister and myself for last nightt ! I get bodywork / massage regularly so I was looking for someone who could get to the problem versus just a relaxation massage. What a find!! Amy did a lot of work on my neck and back with me face down, allowing the muscles naturally to separate over her fingers she had slid under my back. It was so effective that my rension headache was gone by the next morning. The cupping massage was very amazing!!!!! Like a fire rid the moisture from my body! So inconceivable!!! It would be remiss of me if I didn't write a review of my experience at this establishment. Ready for the shenanigans? Here we go: I called 2 hours ahead requesting a foot massage/reflexology and a cupping massage. I arrived at the appropriate time and the response I received was like I never called. They had no appointment book and I kept having to repeat which services I wanted even though I called 2 hours prior. They even went so far as to show me the cups to verify I wanted the service. Then they requested payment up front. There was no sales tax involved just $100 dollars for the services. Since when do you go into a bonafide establishment and they don't do sales tax and a receipt???? They show me to the room and I immediately question whether or not they have passed a health inspection. There was a paper sheet on the massage table just like the one on the table at the doctor's office. She removes the paper sheet to reveal 2 flat sheets laying over the massage table. Weird. I requested that I have the foot massage/reflexology session first then the cupping massage last. Again...chaos. I kept having to repeat myself before they make arrangements for the foot massage. They come back with a hot tea foot soak. Which was decent. I soaked for about 20 min then they had me lay back on the sanitary-questionable table. An older guy walks in and starts on the massage. It is more than clear that this guy doesn't give massages on the regular as his hands are dry, rough and calloused. They were so dry I questioned whether or not he even washed his hands before he touched me. He gave a decent massage but as a person that gets reflexology sessions on the regular (my massage therapist is out the country for the next few months) I can tell he only knows general aspects to reflexology instead of having a thorough understanding of it. Overall, he was ok. Now for the biggest disappointment. I lay on this questionable table and a lady comes in and starts on the massage. She was freaking amazing. She was able to work on the tight muscles and it felt wonderful. That lasted about 2 minutes. She was able to apply one cup to my lower back before someone else came in and started speaking in what I assume is Chinese. I could tell the more experienced lady was showing the one that came in how to apply the cups by demonstrating the process. Then the experienced lady walks out and doesn't come back. She leaves the remaining work to the lady with NO experience. The inexperienced lady tries to apply 2 more cups multiple times with little success. They were able to "attach" but the suction was so weak every time she moved them they would come off. So she ended up massaging me with the original 2 cups that were applied by the experienced woman before she stops completely to give me the most mediocre massage that I've ever had. WTH?? Who does that? How do you tag team massaging someone then walk out?? And leave the person that gives a crappy massage? After the second lady leaves I hop off the table to get dressed. I noticed a sheet of paper on wall with tip suggestions for 20% and above. *blank stare* No tip and no repeat business. read more

Interesting is the best way to describe this massage. I had an apt. scheduled with my fav masseuse, Suzie, and she drilled a hole in her thumb and had to resched(poor thing!!) I called my back~ups and they were booked so I thought I'd try Gina's. The little lady that worked on me didn't speak a speck of English other than, "It's OK?" & no matter my response, she kept doing what she was doing. She climbed up & kneeled on the table for leverage & at one point straddled me for leverage, then, while she was up there, she dug her knees into my butt cheeks. I know I hold tension there and I do appreciate a masseuse that isn't afraid to go there, but WOW!! Most of her efforts were concentrated on my back even though I had marked on my paper muscle soreness in my forearms, triceps, & hams/quads. Since I was new to the world of eastern massage, I figured I'd keep my mouth shut and let her do her thing. Not sure it's for me. Pretty rough/fast movements & we couldn't communicate, which makes it difficult to get your needs taken care of. I will say the hot towel wipe~down at the end was fabulous!! read more

My wife and I went to Gina's for a couple's massage the other day. We had Ruby and Tina - they were great!!! What a wonderful little business started by one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I strongly encourage people to check out Gina's. You won't be disappointed!! The prices are competitive (probably even a little better than most; I honestly haven't done a deep dive comparison), the space is nice, plenty of parking, and, most importantly, my wife and I left more relaxed than when we walked in. What more do you need? Try it out!! Oh, and don't listen to the 1 and 2 star reviews on here. I admittedly scanned them, but one lady commented that her masseuse didn't "speak a lick of English" and another said that someone spoke in "what I assume is Chinese". What's wrong with people? Who writes that? I don't know about you guys, but I go for a massage for relaxation and/or to get a few muscles loosened up. I don't go for the conversation. Whatever - ignore those reviews.
