Pretty standard compared to other locations. Curry is on point, pork katsu was tender and moist. The katsu coating is more of your run of the mill, not legit flaky Japanese coating, but to be expected for this chain. Need to ask for the pickled plum, comes free but I assume they don't put it on every plate since it's not for everyone. Kids really enjoyed the kaarage, seemed a little more popcorn chicken in appearance but they gobbled it up. Overall, great place for a quick meal, service was quick. read more

I'm very pleased that we have a Curry Zen in this part of town. The restaurant is small, but lots of seating available. The curry itself is amazing with lots of options to choose from like size, toppings, and heat. They really pack in a lot so I would caution getting too much because one meat and small toppings will do. For a mild (1), I thought that it packed some heat there. It was nice and enjoyable though. A nice surprise too is that they have honey toast. My friend tried was hooked. Overall, I love the new location and would return again. I would recommend some dishes, but I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. Amazing! read more

We were hungry after Black Friday shopping. We found out that they have a new location on the west side of town and we were ecstatic! We used to go to the Chinatown location before we moved. We ordered the pork katsu and I am happy to report that their curry here tastes just as good as the Chinatown location and the food came out fast. The service was great! The melon cream soda brought back my fond childhood memories from when I lived in Japan. All of our food choices were flavorful. The curry was extremely flavorful with the right consistency, and the chicken katsu and pork loin katsu were equally as delicious. The pork loin katsu was a bit more flavorful, and although it's a different cut it definitely reminded me of pork belly. We left fulfilled and full. TL DR: I highly recommend this restaurant. Great food, great service, close to me. I love Zen Curry. I believe this is their second(?) location. This location is much closer to me so it makes it much more convenient to eat here. The food is always top notch. I highly recommend the chicken or port katsu curry. Their honey toast is also a very good dessert that is a huge portion, that is more than enough to share. The service is always very stellar. I feel like the service is personal, rather than corporate (like some restaurants). They also offer takeout and are on Uber Eats. Their menu says "alcohol coming soon" likely because of a pending liquor license, if that matters to you. Overall, highly recommend, great restaurant. I'm shocked its not more popular yet. read more
