I called The Healing Place to make an appointment. I explained to the lady who answered the phone that I wanted to pay the difference to schedule a full hour since I thought 30 minutes was not enough time to get a good massage. I arrived the next day a few minutes early for my 9:00 a.m. appointment. There was no one in the lobby, but I did hear someone in the back, so I sat in the the lobby. A few minutes later, a lady came from the back. When she saw me, she handed me a clipboard and told me "Fill out the forms". She did not say hello, introduce herself, or smile. She seemed that she was not happy to be there. The lady went back into the back room and I started filling out the forms. I had just finished filling in my contact information when she came out, with some type of bottle in her hand, and asked me "Do you want heat on the bed?" I was not sure what she meant. I have had a few massages in the past at other places and I had never been asked that question. I said to her "I don't know". She then, mockingly, repeated what I had just said ("I dont' know") and then said "You either want heat or you don't". At this point, it was really obvious this lady did not seem happy to be there and I wanted nothing further to do with her. I handed her my certificate, told her I was not interested in getting a massage and left. I waited about a week to submit this review because I thought someone would wonder why I was not happy and that person (the boss, owner) would contact me since I had left my contact information. I have heard from no one. So it seems obvious to me that there is no concern for the customer at The Healing Touch.

Let me say my masseuse was not one of the ones mentioned. She was not very friendly. Didn't ask what brought me in or if I had any areas of focus. Just looked at the paper I filled out said ok and that was that. She was so rough even after I told her it was hurting very badly. She said it was my fault I have knots so it's going to hurt but didn't let up on the pressure or get out of that area. I have RA and Lupus and severe joint and muscle pain which I did advise of. I was writhing when she touched certain spots and it seemed she pressed harder. I asked for my lower back to get some attention but that didn't happen either she stayed up top. I usually get a good nap and feel great after a good massage but that did not happen this time. I couldn't relax. I went home and have been so sore (not in a good way either). I can't move my shoulders, arms or bend down. My neck is stiff and I've had a migraine since I left. I may try again with someone else but I'm on the fence. Just an update: it's a week after my terrible experience. No one from the spa has reached out. No one has acknowledged my experience. I am still in terrible pain that was caused by the masseuse. I'm now having pain, shocks running down my mid back and legs from the excessive pressure the masseuse used after I told her it was too much, after I told her it was hurting, after she told me it was my fault because of my knots.

I was calling around to find a new masseuse in the area, and stumbled across Healing path massage…read more First off, many places didn't even respond to the Yelp request for more information, but Healing Path did! She was professional from beginning to end. She actually didn't have any appointments available at first, but squeezed us in for treatment even though it wasn't the full time we wanted initially. It was not in a commercial building, which made us feel less like a buck to be made and more like a client she wanted to help. The actual treatment was way better than others in the past. Thai massage is something she appears to specialize in, and without all of the pain and heavy pressure, she was able to release areas of tension and have immediate relief from soreness. During the treatment, she took some time to show some stretching that we could use at-home to maintain the progress she was making, which definitely was noted and appreciated. After the appointment, she followed up and sent videos as a reminder of the stretches she wanted us to continue. If you are an athlete especially, and in need of treatment, definitely consider Healing Path in Fuquay-Varina! I am looking forward to going back soon for a longer session.
