This is one of the many ideal places to watch some good artwork if you happen to be in this neighborhood.

You do get what you paid for. I had a poster/print 36x48 and a custom frame was the only way to get it done. I had it framed on 1" frame, black. We had the extra white border on the poster itself covered by recommendation of the lady working there and it looks great. We also had the poster mounted so it will keep the print from bulging, falling, etc. Then we had plexiglass installed to protect the print. Plexiglass is more expensive than regular glass but it is also more durable and in the event that the frame were to receive some sort of impact it will withstand it better than glass. I'm happy with my frame and I will go back to them for future frames if needed.

And then during one of the Art Basel week, they presented us with a "doorway" into the new, expanded area known now as Wynwood Doors The area features a couple of long walls that feature wonderful murals (along the entire length of the walls) and a very large wall that presented an amazing Ron English mural (which highlighted that green, muscle baby). I loved that the mural continued onto the floor towards the viewers giving a three dimensional effect. The other side of the area has a bunch of small garage doors (like the ones to storage units) and each door had a mural or other art installation on it. Wynwood Doors also has a common area with grass (although they don't want you walking on it) and a tree with what appears to be chinese lantern lights and large boulders that people love to take photos on (which is great with the murals as the backdrop). Love what they have done with this space !

What's cool is that metal roll-down gates were installed along the walls so they can be pulled up or down to reveal different pieces of art. They've always been down when I visit, but still cool to know. Artists come from all across the world and you can be sure they're some of the best. I really dig a lot of the work. There are some awesome lights hanging off of the tall tree in the middle that I always want to steal, and a cool dragon sculpture to add to the mix. It creates a unique environment, especially for special events! During Art Basel, I've gone to yoga classes inside the Wynwood Doors which is always fun and special. Overall, the Wynwood Doors were a great addition to the Wynwood scene five years ago. I'm sure it'll remain a regular spot in my Wynwood jaunt.
