Zaxby's in Waynesville is my grandkids favorite place to eat. The employees are always so nice and I always enjoy taking them there! There milkshakes are also awesome!! read more

they gave me 9 chicken tenders when I ordered 10. And it Was 28 dollars for 9 chicken tenders

I've enjoyed Zaxby's for a good while now, but The most recent time, I wasn't terribly satisfied with the meal. It was the first time I was dissatisfied, but they looked short-staffed and the girl at the front was working so hard that I'll give an extra star. This would have been a two-star review except for that. read more

This place is great, really had a good time with my family here. The people are friendly, the music is rockin' and the tenders were sizzlin'

The bread in my favorite part and is always good but I have had varying feeling about the fries and wings as they have very random amounts of good flavor but the mr.beast meal was also very good and the service is very good. read more

Food looks good, tastes good, not much seasoning on fries and they only gave me around 13 fries... for a $13 meals seems like they could afford to up the fry portion. Nevertheless pretty decent. Prices here are ridiculous. you'd think being in a college town they would help out by lowering the prices not jacking them up! everything is almost a dollar or more per meal read more

Zaxbys - Boneless Wings & Things (Buffalo Garlic) - Chicken Wings Near Me - Waynesville, North Carolina

We haven't been in for a long while, because they have just gotten so bad since covid. We decided to give them another shot today. There were two official looking men there working from Zaxby's corporate office. They had their computers all set up and appeared to be working hard. They were right next to the drink machine. The cashier called them the "big men." Our visit was at 2pm, so they were not busy at all, and some employees were outside smoking. Our food was semi-hot, there was no ice in the machine, and it was completely out of coke. But, nothing from our visit tops what was in the men's room! read more

Waiting for 30 minutes in the drive though no car in front of me to get my food. Only had parts of my meal, could not refund. Don't come here. read more

When I entered, all looked well, but I should have known something was up when people were looking displeased. Going here on July 4th was not such a good idea and 39 minutes later I was served my meal. I had to ask the lady at the register to give it to me as she was running around trying to help another angry guest. Some parts of my order was wrong, but after 39 minutes, I would have eaten anything they fried up. The conclusion is that this is a one and done! read more

They forewarn you that they are short staffed. So you have to keep your expectations low. I didn't realize how low my expectations had to be until I passed the drive thru lane and opened my bag of goodies at home. Ordered the signature sandwich meal, the chicken was crispy and delicious, but pickles were missing and there was barely any "signature sauce." Moved on to my crispy fries, no ketchup came with the meal. Shame on me for not checking to make sure my order was correct and assuming a ketchup packet would come with my meal! What was I thinking? I should have thought of all that as I waited 20 minutes for my meal at the drive thru. At least I got the right drink, a regular coke. Can't really complain, as it's the only Zaxby's in Waynesville unless I wanna drive another 30 mins to Asheville or Sylva. Which I'm too lazy to do... obviously, otherwise why would I wait 20 mins at a drive thru?!? Honestly I should be grateful that this location is even open. read more

Zaxbys - Drive thru menu - Chicken Wings Near Me - Waynesville, North Carolina

Standard Zaxby fare as far as the food goes. Usual high quality freshly made with large portions. My go to is the 5 finger meal with the fingers "buffalo sauced" in the hot honey mustard sauce. Had to comment though after reading all the bad reviews. I know it is often hit and miss in any restaurant especially a fast food location but I found this location to be quite clean. The dining area was being cleaned as we came in and at least one staff member was cleaning the entire time we were there. The bathrooms were very clean as well. If you are local and have not been here in awhile would definitely go back and give them a chance. Appears may have been able to straighten some things out. read more

My first and only experience was picking up a door dash order to be delivered. I waited and hour and a half standing there. Founf out the order wasn't ready because it had a few salads and they were out of salad stuff .... I asked "did you not tell the customer?" They said "no". So I texted him and advised him to cancel his order because apparently it was never going to be made. I also witnessed an elderly person in a walker come through needing to find the restroom. Not one employee could take a moment to tell him. He asked a few and all ignored him or shrugged. I didn't know the place so I couldn't help him find it. He eventually found it but I mean come on .... do better! I have no intention going there ever again for any reason. read more

Cackalack fried chicken! Chick-fil-who? This place is better than any other southern fried chicken place. It's out of Athens, GA. This place doesn't have the agenda that some of those competitors have. All they care about around here is tasty fried chicken pieces and french fries. We came in here looking for takeout. They have deals on chicken, but I got the standard chicken fingers and fries, with their tasty sauce, Zax Sauce. The chicken was golden fried, crispy, tender and delicious. They know how to fry up a chicken tender in here. The plate I got was too much for one person. It was a huge portion! There was a long line at the drive-thru, but hardly anyone inside, so we just parked and went in to order the take out. The interior walls were plastered with 'bling,' weird random signs and nonsequitors all over the place. By the time we left, the line had barely moved at the drive-thru. It seemed like a bunch of the restaurant was closed to dine in, but there were some areas open. read more

We ordered a 20 piece tender family pack and they forgot the fries and bread. They were closed and we were leaving town the next day so the only thing they were willing to offer was to come in the next day to get the missing items. read more

I would not recommend this location. Once I pulled in the parking lot with my food I realized there was no ranch, no silverware, no straw, and no napkins. Not to mention the chicken had little to no sauce. I pulled back around to ask for these missing items and the girl at the window was very rude to me. She asked me to pay for the ranch and was clearly irritated with me (for no reason). She kept yelling to the other guys working there about my order and claiming the items were in the bag. I get that it's fast food but still this is extremely unprofessional. I was so astonished by her behavior that I didn't even feel comfortable asking for all of the missing items or telling them about the problem with my chicken. (The fork in the picture is one I have from home.) read more

Let me start off with I love Zaxby's but don't know what's going on with the franchise this is the third time I been disappointed, this location was pretty disappointing with dirty floors and I don't think there's a level table in there, service was two stars it's like first day on the job I can go on but I think you got the idea, going to take a break from Zaxby's for a while read more

I just went through the drive-through here at Zaxby's. When I pulled up, I had a man named Nick take my order. As I pulled up to the window, of course I cannot drive so I made him reach out the window and he did with a smile as he assured me he had seen worse. and I drive up to the second window and I may be have a three minute wait. here comes Nick running out my food. still with his huge smile! my food came out delicious and hot! I'm sure everyone else is short staffed too, but I just wanted to come on here and say thank you to Nick for my lunch today! read more

There are five in my family and I disagree with the poor reviews also! We all love zaxbys! The soda machine is most likely empty because these machines use very small containers of syrup to offer you all those flavored! As busy as they are it runs out but I have seen them change these small cartridges often! I love the decor, signage and ads from a time gone by! Other national chain restraunts do the same thing! The food is good, never had any angry staff but dealing with stupid people day in and day out could make you angry! My kids love the shakes, my wife love the salads and I love the zack snack meal, great sauces it's always clean! Plenty of parking and good lighting. read more

See all

This Zaxbys is SOOO SLOW, it shouldn't even be considered FAST food!! There are three cars and we've been here for 20 minutes

They have never gotten a single order of mine correct. Ever. They're rude if you call them out on it, they're slow, they can't even count the number of chicken tenders in an order, let alone put the right sauce on them. Also the chicken comes out at room temperature every single time. If some day a field trip allows a group of kindergarten children to take over the restaurant for a day, I might come back to give it a try. Fire everyone, level the building, try again. Actually awful. read more

Well if you are thinking of a substitute for Chick File this is it. I found the chicken tender just that tender and juicy. Also not so much of a wait like at Chick File. Definitely worth a try so that you can compare as well. You won't be disappointed. read more

Only giving this one star because i cant give it zero stars. Worst service possible! We order 3 salads, two if which were wrong. I took my receipt with the two salads and tried to just have them exchanged for the right food we ordered. Dining room was closed due to maintenance, which i totally understand, however i knocked/wave and no one acknowledged me. We then tried to call, sent to voice mail. This is the second time stuff like this has happened here. Then the other day, my sister did a mobile order and she went in 3 minutes before the order was ready expecting there to be a line... she waited for 20 minutes before she was even able to say that she was here to pick up. Then once she got her order, it was wrong! And to make it all worse, there was a hair in her food, not on, IN! And when she called to complain, they didn't offer her a refund or anything. The lady was rude on the phone and was like "well i guess we can make it again" and i told her that i was already home 20 mins away. She just threw her food away. Very unsatisfied!!!! read more

We visited on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. Passing through. Not great for handicapped individuals. I was in a surgery boot (broke foot in three places) and crutches. The floors have this slick waxy feel. I almost slipped and fell *several* times. I don't think they clean their floors well at all, cause tile gets film buildup over time that could cause that. It was a huge hassle, and I was very nervous the whole time. To top it off, we got our food, and our family of 4 all had super stale fries. My Cajun Club sandwich was so sloppily made and soggy. Like it had sat already made for a bit. My 2 year old's kiddie grilled cheese was partially burnt. Seemed like such a good Zaxbys when we first drove up. I get that it was lunch rush. I used to be an assistant manager at a Zaxbys in GA, and I can tell you that it is possible to consistently create Encore Experiences (which is part of Zaxby's mission statement) even during lunch rush. But inattention to details by the management and the care of their store earned this rating. read more

Very disappointed with the meal I got today at the Zaxby's on Russ Ave in Waynesville. I ordered the TLC breaded chicken sandwich meal which includes fries and a drink. I went through the drive through approx 5:30 pm and was told to pull to the front because they had no more chicken ready but were cooking it...really !???? At 5:30?? Peak dinner time ?? I had to wait almost 15 more minutes for my meal and when I did get it .. the meal was already cold ! Nothing like cold limp fries ! Also, the chicken sandwich should have included lettuce, tomato, mayo . I only got a piece of shredded lettuce and a pickle! Not acceptable!! Btw. I won't be back !! read more

Chicken dry biscuits falling completely apart our family will spend our money elsewhere!

With the dining room closed and only the drive-through open one would think with all servers and hands on they would be able to Promptly complete orders while still maintaining customer service. Pulled into drive-through line at 12:02. In 10 minutes two cars have gone through. read more

Food is good. However, the dining room needs some help. The floor is disgustingly greasy. I'm guessing they've been using the same mop in the dining room as have in the kitchen for several years now. Its gross. The booths also need to be replaced. read more

I know...I am stalking Zaxby's. My husband has finally had it. Incorrect orders, non-chambered styrofoam containers that permit sauce on chicken to permeate french fries and anything else within, and a general lack of caring have driven him over the edge. I love chicken and this is where you should get Chicken. This Zaxby's isn't like others. Well actually... Most Zaxby's are like this one, they are all clean. Everybody is nice and will help you with all of your wonderful needs! And have I even said anything about the oh so great food? Maybe pricey compared to other fast food places but it is worth it! Thank you, go enjoy yourself. read more

I have eaten here more than once and I can say I am pleased. I would be happier yes as some reviewers said to brighten up the place just enough. Not a lot tho because I feel that it would take away from the atmosphere. The service has always been pleasant and really nice.(Because I am nice and not acting like I want to kill them if they get it wrong). I have never waited more than 7-8 minutes for my food. the only problem is that sometimes the ice machines are both empty but it might just be because I always seem to go when it is busy. I would say it is clean sometimes, but I have noticed an improvement in cleanliness. I say give it a try. The food is good and it's really enjoyable if you are looking to talk to someone and not be bothered. I'm going to give it a 4 because I feel they need to improve in some places but other than that they deserve every star. read more

Chuck, the GM and the District Manager was EXTREMELY rude!! He argued with me and told me I was wrong. I stated I was going to file a complaint and he replied back, "the email will be sent back to me, and there is nothing that will be done about it." Chuck was very disrespectful and extremely rude to the guests! Unbelievable on how this GM/DM handled a complaint. Never made eye contact, guessing he knew he was wrong!
