We keep giving this location a chance. My mom can only eat their chicken if it is fresh. We ask before we buy because if it is overcooked she can swollow and her throat closes up. She went through drive thru asked for fresh chicken they handed her a bag in 2 mins. Got home overcooked cold chicken. Will not give anymore chances. read more

Came here several times and always had good food and service. Last time I ordered ahead and accidentally grabbed the wrong order. Completely my fault. Called to let them know and the staff were so kind. I didn't mean to mess up someone else's day and felt awful. This store really tries and stays very covered up. If i could give this place a negative star, I would. They have taken my card multiple times and failed to give it back. I've had to remind the worker to hand me my card back on multiple occasions. Today would be the second time I've left Zaxbys with them forgetting to hand me my card back. I realized later that day they never did gave it back, and when i go to the restaurant to ask for it They scramble around and tell me they don't have it. Just bought supper for the entire family here tonight, the cost exceeded $50.00. When we arrived home, a 10-minute drive, my daughter's chicken was ice cold in the center, like it had never been fully cooked. My $10 salad didn't have any bacon, lettuce, or cheese. See photos. I ordered this same salad in NC last night and couldn't finish it, but tonight I was still hungry! It was like, it was 1/2 of a salad. The service was the most horrible I've ever seen at a Zaxby's. So, on Sunday, Aug 1st, my mother and I stopped by around 9ish for some food. It was a long day and we wanted chicken.... And we got it, a family meal deal boneless buffalo wings. Delicious! So why the one star? The receipt said $27.24, but I wake up to find my bank account was charged $32.69... I don't know where that extra $5 went to, I didn't add a tip, nothing should have added $5 to the charge. I can't express how distressed and infuriated I am that someone actually thought it was ok to just take extra money off my account... no permission, no warning, who's to say what it was for or where it went. So to whoever my $5 went to, I hope it was worth it because not only did this location lose a regular customer, but I'm making sure I put this up so I can warn people: IT IS UNSAFE TO USE YOUR CARD. This is by far this worst zaxbys location to go in Huntsville. I stopped going for a while due to rude teenagers and terrible customer service, but when I came back I realized the management got worse... the food still takes forever to get and the managers are very rude about it. I came in tonight to get my order replaced because they gave me the wrong one (again) in the drive thru, just to see the manager yelling at a car of teenagers. The General Manager is no better, last time I came in there she reeked of alcohol and tried to bride me with free food if I wrote her a good review. I ended up leaving with the wrong food again. I was reminded today why I don't like coming to this location. They are so rude. And today it was the manager, I'm guessing that's who she was. Was wearing a gray hoodie. Complaining about my order when I was sitting right there at the open window. Because apparently I ordered more sauces then she thought I needed. Well lady I paid for every one of those sauces thank you. And also complaining about being there. And when the phone rang she got irritated and said "I swear if this is another person calling out" as she stood there rolling her eyes at the person on the phone. Today is my final time patronizing this location and possibly the entire chain based on the restaurant's callous and irresponsible attitude toward the pandemic. 3 people in the kitchen were preparing food without wearing a mask. I am helping care for my mom who was recently hospitalized with a near fatal lung condition. If we end up with Covid I will be pursuing legal action with the franchise owner(s) and the parent company. In thee meantime this sounds like a job for the health department. I waited to see if a manager/employee would've come out & spoke with all of the waiting customers but No! Finally the cars behind me got tired of waiting & left which freed up space so I to then pulled off. Slow. Many sit down restaurants are faster than this Zaxby's. Not sure why Chicken Fingers take so long, i would think they keep them coming. Not a fan of this Zaxby's. The lady taking my order (Kathleen) was very unpleasant and quite rude, and had scowl on her face the entire time. After 15 minutes of waiting and seeing other people receiving food, I went to the front to ask about my order. My order had been lost and the cook apparently didn't even make it. After they rushed the food out to me, I was disappointed to see that the chicken fingers were underdone and you could peel the breading right off of the chicken fingers. And they attempted to give me the order without the sauce that comes with the meal until I corrected them. It's like they don't know what they are doing at all. I wanted to take a moment to recognize Ms. Charla at this location. On July 2nd I popped in to Zaxby's before work to get a bit to eat and while there my order was accidentally given away to another customer. No big deal the staff notified me and apologized and said "they will have my order up shortly" I was happy and understand that everyone makes mistakes. As I receive my food Brianna kind young woman wrote on my receipt and stated that the next time I come back that they'd comp my next meal. I thought cool, returned a couple weeks later receipt in hand explained the situation to the cashier and he wanted to deny me the offer since said person was not there. Immediately Ms. Charla I'm assuming the shift manager at the time noticed what was going on and stepped in to rectify the situation. Soda machine full of ice had to scoop out just to fill a. Drink , whole building had a weird vibe like all the employees were zombies , blank expressions on all faces and a scent of desperation in the air , food was okay , had a piece of chicken didn't look Cooke through and some of the fries tasted like they weren't Cooked all the way either . I've always liked this Zaxby's, and I would normally give them 4-5 stars. However, since the COVID-19 restrictions have been in place, I've been sorely disappointed. The last three or four times I've been through the drive-through, they've gotten something wrong with my order. I usually don't realize it until after I drive off. Tonight, when I noticed and brought up the issue with the employees at the window, it became clear that getting the order fixed was more trouble that it was worth. The service was quick! But sadly i did have an issue one of the meals came out cold but we were in such a hurry we didn't fix it. The other meals were fine as always. Only 2 reviews for a chain? Interesting. I have friends who LOVE Zaxby's. I tried it once in Virginia and thought the chicken was so incredibly salty that it was hard to eat (and I'm a mega salt lover; I add it to everything). They thought the sauce was the best thing ever, but I found it... yucky. Now I'm in Alabama and ate here twice. Both times I got The Blue Zsalad, first with blue cheese dressing and the next with the standard Mediterranean. The first time I thought it was super yummy, but WAY too salty. I thought maybe it was a fluke (well, I was hoping). My 2 kids got kids meals of chicken and fries and said the chicken was so salty they couldn't eat them. I ate their leftover, and WHOA, yes, so salty it was like licking a salt block. But alas, I tried it yet again today... The Blue Blackened Chicken Zsalad with Mediterranean dressing. I really, really, really want to like Zaxby's, because a blue cheese chicken salad is divine in my book. But this Salt Lover could barely eat it. It tasted like every bite had a teaspoon of pure salt added. The line was long, the customers were many. With me as a huge salt lover, I'm not sure why everyone loves the food when I can't stand all the saltiness. It was so salty that I poured out my Diet Coke and replaced it with water. I was going through the drive thru and ordered my regular. Zaxby's club with no tomato. I also mention as I normally do that I have a tomato allergy and really can't have the tomato on the sandwich. To save them time so they don't have to make me a whole new one and me time by not having to wait for them to do so. And boom once again the tomato was on the sandwich. Tonight I happened to be on the way to a work meeting and didn't discover it until I arrived at work. I called them to explain and asked for a refund and they said they couldn't do that but could give me a free sandwich next time I came if I brought my receipt. Well guess what!!! On Sunday, the 18th of September I decided to go get me and a friend a snack meal at Zaxby's on south pkwy in front of Wal-Mart. When I got home both meals had undercooked french fries, and very soggy buttered bread. It sure wasn't toast. We had no Zax sauce, but 2 Ranch sauces, which they charged me for. I told them I wanted an extra sauce, but Ranch. My friend wouldn't let me take hers back, but I took mine back; I'm so tired of working hard and choosing a place to enjoy supper and things just go south. I walked in and told them about it, they told me they couldn't give me a refund. I asked for the manager. A heavy-set scruffy man came from the back and asked what I wanted. I told him. While I was talking to him the guys in the back were laughing. I told them it wasn't funny. They needed customers to stay in business. They just continued to laugh. I did, however, get my money back and will not return. This specific restaurant has always been a hit or miss. Always!! The convicts are running that prison. However, you won't find chopsticks here. No!! You'll find flies, lots of flies!!! 8O A call for an impromptu meeting after a couple of hours volunteering led 3 of us here one weekday afternoon. Having heard a few good things about another Zaxby's off University & Memorial Pkwy, I agreed on this location in Carl T. Jones. As we walked in out of the rain one recent afternoon and after wicking the rain drops off, we made our way to the registers to order. With no one else in line but us - a small party of 3, two of us took our time scanning the menu while the other, who recommended this location, placed her order. At that point, I should have walked out. Not so much because of the menu items, but due to the visible distraction of countless flies hovering a few feet above the registers and in front of the menu board. I was forced to ask myself in the silence of my mind, "Am I the only one seeing this? Really, are we eating here? Does the manager and staff not see this? Or have they succumbed to being content in such an unkept environment with no regards as to how this reflects upon the restaurant as a whole? Who's got chopsticks?" I seriously wanted to grab a pair of chopsticks and try my hand at Mr. Miyagi's challenge. No chopsticks nearby in this chicken house! My questions were soon silenced when it was my turn to order after the two others in my party finished placing theirs. Underwhelmed and distracted, I ordered 'The Blue - Buffaloed' off the Zalads menu. I will say that, despite the flies up front, I was impressed w the plate when it arrived. The presentation - a mountain of greens with pieces of carrots, roma tomatoes, blue cheese pieces sprinkled throughout, along w fried onions, and topped off w quite a few large pieces of buffalo chicken fingers and a side of lightly buttered Texas toast. I did not know what to expect when I ordered, but the portion was generous enough to feed two. I dared to carefully observe the meal before me for anything unusual while balancing my attention with the meeting details at our table. Thankfully, nothing unusual (crawling or flying) was found and I was able to engage fully in our meeting. My s/zalad satisfied my taste buds. The buffalo flavored chicken fingers were a bit too salty thereby giving it too much of a bold taste which my t-buds eventually adjusted to. I didn't finish the meal completely as the salad was quite large. Who packs a doggie bag of salad to go anyway? Well, it crossed my mind, but I opted not and ate the last two chicken fingers. If I should return, I would consider another dish (maybe the Zensation Zalad) before ordering 'The Blue - Buffaloed' again. With my periodic thoughts of distraction (yes, referencing back to the flies up front), I noticed a few employees nearby. One kindly offered to close the blinds above our booth when the sun began to shine brightly between the rain clouds outside onto our seating area. We accepted as she reached over from a nearby booth to close the blinds. The other employee, unconcerned with the patrons, turned out to be a manager. I believe that the morale amongst employees of any business starts from the top. An encouraging, motivated, effective leader will reflect, reap, and influence the same in their employees. That is surely not what I observed here in the faces and stature of the employees, unfortunately. The seemingly uninterested manager did crack a smile from the side of one cheek when we said "Thank You" to him on our way out. It almost seemed he was relieved that we and other patrons were leaving so maybe he could take a break and not have to work so hard... to keep the flies out?! Management may need to step it up a BIG notch here! Will I return? Not by my own choice. However, I'm guessing I will since friends and hubby speak about Zaxby's often. Sadly enough, it'll likely be another location though, not this one in the Carl T. Jones area. Bring a fly swatter or a pair of looong chopsticks, if you dare visit this location. read more

Food was good but the service was pretty lousy. An employee had a cussing fit because of the mess she had to clean up at the drink station. She walked all over the restaurant loudly exclaiming her dissatisfaction with her job. When we asked for the manager, said manager wanted to know why before she would reveal herself. Then she actually made the girl go around and apologize to individual customers. Amazing leadership skills! The last 2 times I was there I said I would not come back to this location but it is so convenient! Today not only were they slow but the girl at the register was rude.After sitting in the drive thru 10 minutes (4 cars) I pulled out of line and went inside. 1 customer inside, 4 employees standing around. I ordered a boneless wings meal substitute for chips. Got charged 2.50 for a regular chips but got a very little chips in the box with the chicken. The chicken also had the wrong sauce and chips were not cooked all the way. read more
