First time ever eating at a Zaxbys. Another chicken tender place. They actually season their chicken so that's better than raising cane's already. I think bojangles might be the best one. This was good tho. Like the sauce. Bojangles is better with sauce as well. Interesting thing is a sign is posted outside saying "this is a smoke free facility...and we thank you for not smoking." Which I don't. I don't even drink alcohol. But apparently they don't hold that standard to the employees. Cuz when leaving I saw one employee pull up next to me in a car smoking a blunt. Zaxby's kept showing up on the Yelp App. My cousin suggested this place and since, I had been wanting to check it out we dined in here Saturday after Church. A young guy with a Hawaiian name was really patient and nice to us. Since, it was our first time and we weren't sure what to order. I ordered the Four Piece Chicken Strips with Fries a drink and a Toast. It was 12.99 and it was nothing special? Lol. I tried their famous Sauce not thrilled about. It was flavorless. I mixed some Ketchup w the sauce to help it out. The Chicken Strips were extra crispy and dry? I loved the Fries Chunky Crinkled cut Fries with a mystery seasoning. I had some Chocolate Chip Cookies. They were the famous Ottis SpunkMeyer Cookies, soft , chewy and Chocolatey. I love the size of the Restaurant and the simple decor and color scheme. The tables and chairs are innovative. The Chairs easily glide and tables are bolted to the restaurant.One guy moved his booth seat back so his baby could eat in his lap. But, that didn't allow my cousin to fit comfortably in her booth on the other side Oh well. We understand. We just found another seat. No problem. Service- Drive Thru as the app/online ordering was not working. First window, I questioned the price and he said he would run my card and I could "discuss any discrepancies with the manager at the next window" Next window, nice service. However I wish I would've double checked my bags. We were missing sauces and there was a hot sauce drizzled on my salad that I requested not be. Pouring rain, line wrapped around the building- once we got home and saw the cold food, missing/incorrect order I couldn't return back. I understand it's a new location but service and food quality matters. Blue Zalad- Requested no sauce on the salad, blue cheese dressing on the side . Soggy toast on the side. Chicken came in a container on the side and sauce top of salad. No dressing in bag that was requested. Small serving of salad for $13. Container was huge compared to salad. Appetizer Trio- has potential. But wasn't served warm and we only received 1/3 sauces. The eggrolls were the best thing out of the whole order and I wouldn't return for them. Zaxby's done robbed me. Had a friend tell me about Zaxby's once but there wasn't any local, so I was pretty excited to try out a new chicken finger place since Cane's quality went downhill post-covid. I placed a mobile order, showed up about 10 minutes afterwards and was surprised to find my food was ready. I thought that was cool. Until I got home. I had a 7 minute drive home. My food was cold by the time I made it back. 2 out of 4 of the chicken fingers were half the size of the other 2. So I technically got 3? And even the "regular" fingers were eh. Food tasted like it was microwaved, like if they made a bunch of food expecting more customers, and then just heated the made food back up. I wouldn't really care if the meal was $8 or whatever, but $15? $15 for some subpar chicken fingers, half seasoned crinkle cut fries, and a Pan Bimbo bread that seemed to have been toasted on one side is wild. Unless they're paying tariff's on that chicken, there's no reason for that meal to be $15. I guess Canes is the move, since their toast is actual toast, not a slice of Bairds white bread just thrown in the box. Rant over. Place is expensive. Food is aight (if it was warm). The food tastes like it comes out of the microwave. My toast was hard and soaked with butter. Now for the chicken tenders. The tenders are too small for all the money they charge. I had two tenders instead of three. The third one was just crust all fried together from the grease. If Zaxbys plan on being around in the future better get some bigger strips.
