Today I found out that the large fry at Zaxby's is the same as a small fry on Clemson Rd! ‍ On two separate days ordering a fry and then a large fry turns out the amount of fries are the same. I don't think there's an attempt to cheat you out of fries. I think that workers either don't know or don't care. Probably the latter. The only difference in the sizes seems to be cost. It's $2 for regular fry and $2.39 for a large fry plus tax of course. Well this won't be a long one but I think they can do a lot better. Most folks won't notice I'm sure. You can get a lot more fries at McDonald's for less money and it's either $1 on Fridays or Free! Won't be buying à la carte fries at Zaxby's any time soon unless I get some kind of refund or coupon! Walked in at 4 p.m. on this Saturday 2/3/24 to order take out. 8 or more workers behind the counter in a small room to the side laughing and playing like children while the "MANAGER" stood there and let them do it. People at the counter standing there waiting to order were ignored, and when I asked for the "manager" I asked her if this behavior was normal, and that it was ridiculous. All I got was a dirty look. Terrible service and extremely long wait times. Went on a Sunday evening AFTER peak dinner hours, had only 5 cars in front of us and waited 36 minutes. We ordered 1 meal and a funnel cake. We didn't modify anything or have any special requests, just a basic 4 piece meal. Nobody even pretended to be friendly. Obviously, the employees are miserable. Also, when I placed the order I asked for ranch (not extra ranch, but when I get to the window, I find out I was charged for ranch. They said it's extra. I told them I didn't want extra, I just wanted a single ranch pack. They had an attitude after charging me extra for something I didn't ask for. Also also, charging for anything over one dipping sauce is absolutely insane. No other fast food places do this. At a bare minimum, 2 dipping sauces should be free with a meal.. one for the chicken and one for the fries. Anyway, don't get an attitude with the customer and then not even apologize for the mistake you made. Furthermore, don't charge people extra for something without telling them or asking them to clarify if you didn't understand. Nobody says "hi", "welcome", "good evening", "thank you", "would you like any ketchup?", or "have a good night". Y'all might as well be replaced by ai and robots. While 10pm is more than generous to customers, it makes no sense to have patrons waiting in drive thru for more than 20 minutes to place an order. I entered the drive thru line at 9:39. At 10:01, I finally get to the speaker and the young lady says, "We're closed!" I asked if they could take two orders of fries since I've been in the drive thru for a while. She says the manager said "Nope" and that there's no more food to serve. Cool. But let's be clear, the manager's poor management lead to patrons sitting in drive thru for a ridiculous amount of time and punished myself and 13 other cars who waited to be served. We got two adult leaks and the kids meal they gave us fries no chicken fingers and no kid cookie. Today, we just went for dinner about 30 minutes ago. Same thing we ordered 1 kids meal 2 adult meals, again nothing complicated. We were asked to park in a space nearby and the food would be brought out. The food was brought out all in one bag and the Teriyaki sauce had opened and gone all over the food and bag. They didn't pay attention and when they handed it to us it's was sauce all over everything. We walked in to ask if the kid meal chicken can be changed out because it's for a kid and the teriyaki sauce was all over the box 1 of the chicken fingers. My husband went in to ask for am replacement chicken and that our kid would not eat it. The cashier looks at us like we are crazy walks away and hands us another chicken finger looking away from us in a separate bag. Honestly, good customer service is not part of the Zaxbys mission. The reviewers under this restaurant are NOT kidding yall... the customer service and wait times are insane! We got there at 9pm and were five cars away, and left the parking lot at 9:50pm. Our lady had to repeat our order 3 times at least and still messed it up, my boyfriend's sweet tea had white chunks floating in it, and the bread on my club sandwich was undeniably a day old.
