My original appointment was canceled the morning of, which I completely understood because things happen. The stylist apologized, said she had a migraine, and offered a complimentary facial (which did not happen) for the inconvenience. The problem wasn't the cancellation. The problem was everything that happened after. I responded right away and gave several days and times that would work for me. I explained that I was leaving town and wanted to get in before my trip. I never received a response. I followed up again... Still nothing. Eventually, I had to go online and reschedule my own appointment because nobody would get back to me. When the day of the new appointment arrived, I reached out again because I was planning to leave work early to come in. All I wanted was a simple confirmation that my appointment was still on. Again, no response. At that point, all I could do was request a refund through Groupon. What makes this so frustrating is that I wasn't even asking for anything unreasonable. I was patient, understanding, and flexible. I followed up multiple times and did everything I could to make the appointment work. It seems that I was the only one putting in any effort to communicate or reschedule. All I wanted was to get my hair done and feel good about myself before my trip. Instead, I was left feeling completely ignored and disappointed. If you're running a business and accepting paying clients, communication should be the bare minimum. The cancellation itself wasn't what lost my business. The lack of communication, lack of follow through, and poor customer service afterward did.
