The day before the recent holiday weekend, our 8-year-old air conditioner decided to stop working. AC service was necessary. I called around 10 AM, and the service tech arrived a few hours latter. He identified the problem (which required a new fan motor). Due to unexpected circumstances we lost my father-in-law who knew everything about anything recently. With your world still spinning from that you forget about day to day life. My mother-in-law in a panic yesterday explained she doesn't know how to work their boiler! Don't get me wrong YouTube can put people through college but with both of her sons working the next day and me not wanting to start a fire I called Zark's. Everyone in Manhattan always suggest them I figured what do I have to lose, they work on older houses?! Omg the SWEETEST AND INCREDIBLY NICE lady named Nicole, answered the phone. She was giving me different dates (a week or so out which I expected) and then she stop and said, "Wait let me see what I can do..I'll call you back." Not even long enough to call my husband back to tell him, she called. "Can you be there today? I have a technician!" (And the angels came down and sang a song) "Of course!!" She made it happen and she sent the nicest man named Bill out. He was so patient with my mother-in-law (who was in and out of tears upset she didn't pay attention all the other times) and myself. He helped me label the pipes even let me take a video because sometimes I forget lol. He must of ask a handful of times is there anything else? First of all, I never thought hvac could be such an emotional issue, but for our family it was. We recently bought a home that had 3 failing furnaces, 3 failing AC units and 2 failing hot water heaters. We knew moving in was going to be difficult in winter without the necessities of heat and hot water. Bad experience. Bad customer service. Zark came out to fix my hot water heater - I paid $100 for him to clean two sensors. He told me that if it goes out again, then he will replace the sensors. Two days later it broke again - was told that he ordered the parts and over the following TWO MONTHS, he was waiting for them to come in the mail, parts were smashed in shipping, sent them back for replacements, waiting for new parts, and finally his phone dropped in the toilet and he needed it to dry so he was not able to respond to my final inquiries -- I got fed up and told him that I will hire someone else to do the job. read more

I have had Zark for both my furnace and a/c. My a/c is over 40 years old and Zark has kept it running flawlessly for the past couple of years. He was able to give me a boost of Freon and it has worked great. On another occasion my furnace kept going out. By instructing me over the phone as to what to check (needed filter) the furnace was fixed without a service call. He could just as well have come out and charged me for the call. I appreciate that he wasn't trying to get $$ out of me. read more

I had Zark come out to do a check up on my electric furnace at the end of October 2017. He cleaned the filter, told me he checked everything and left after about a half hour. Two months later, our furnace goes out the day after Christmas. I called Zark to come check and he was too busy to come. I called another company, they came, but didn't work on electric furnaces. The tech was nice enough to at least take a look, though. He told us that there was a high amount of mold inside the unit. We then called a company that works on electric furnaces and both technicians from that company told me that we needed to replace the furnace due to the high amount of mold and the fact that we have a newborn in the house. When I went back to Zark to tell them this, they said that it was just dust that needed to be cleaned out and that both of these other companies are using scare tactics to get us to buy a new furnace. I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this company. They would have had to have seen the mold when they "cleaned" the furnace in October and ignored it because they were in such a rush. read more
