Zane has came to checked the door in person, gave us a quote (we agreed on.) and scheduled the date to work on the project. He rescheduled the first time because of health issue. We did agreed to reschedule the other date two weeks from the last appointment. I messaged him to touch base a week before the meeting date. He didn't respond. This whole process is over a month. On the day of his wife texted back and said he went back to the hospital. I understand if you have health issues. It's not okay and unprofessional to agree to work and schedule it twice but not follow through and bad communication throughout the process. Do not recommend this business. Back in July 2021, Bryan seemed to have done a good job installing a new exterior door at my place. But apparently it wasn't that good of a job. Five months later I am having problems opening and closing the door. But the worst part is that Bryan or anyone at Zane Door Replacement do not return calls or respond to messages requesting to get back to me in order to schedule a time when they can drop by to fix the problem. I've tried to get hold Bryan from Zane Door Replacement since mid December 2021. I have not heard back from them yet. So be aware that this company doesn't seem to stand behind their work. read more

Not the cheapest place around, but definitely high-quality and got us exactly what we wanted. From start-to-finish, helping us choose a custom front door that would fit our house, to installing the new frame and door itself, to taking care of the inside & outside trim and floor kick, we were very happy with the work. The only possible negative is, I don't believe they have a web site or email, so the only way to communicate is via phone or text and often their voice mailbox is full and/or text replies are slow. My family and I saved up for a very long time to buy a new entry door. We were very particular about who we trusted to care for our home. We chose Zane's Door Replacement to handle the project and we were not disappointed. Family owned and operated is an understatement. It only Brian and occasionally his son and father. We had a lot of respect for that. But with that said, it's a lot of work for essentially one man to do (bids, work, repairs, admin, etc). I had Zane doors come over and give me an estaminet on what it would cost to install new front door. He told me $2600 because it would take him and one other person. I thought that was high but I trusted him..first mistake. He told me that he use to be able to lift those doors but he has gotten older and needed help. Ok...how much could one guy cost? We the day they come there is 2 guys to move doors and he didn't help. Then he wanted my old doors which were on a 6 million door house but hey, past it forward. So I said, "fine". He took them but on them was an heavy duty door opener which left me without one. So I ask him to get one and install it...At the finish of taking my old doors and putting in my new ones and not getting me the closer or installing it he told me the cost was $3600!!!! I said, "You told me the cost was $2600 and he said, "Well I wrote down $3600" well I wrote down $2600. I would not have written the check but my husband said, "I don't want problems". My husband said, "When will you be coming back to put the door closer in? Just got to pick one up. Called and called and he never answered my phone calls. This was the OWNER, Bryan Zane that came and did this job so if the owner is dishonest who do you trust? I am an a designer and I just picketed out new doors for a client and I would have set him up for her so he lost one job worth $3600...then my neighbor, stopped the other day, when I was in the yard and said, "Oh those door are beautiful where did you find them I want something like that"..so I told her "Iron Wrought Doors" the wonderful place I purchased them. She ask, "Do you mind if I buy the same ones" "No you will love them" So they made $10,000 off her and then she ask, "Who did you use to install them"? We were replacing a non-standard size door and honestly the door guy in my area was so condescending I couldn't wait to get off the phone. Then I called Bryan and he was super friendly, helpful and seemed like an honest, hard working guy. It turned out we were a little out of his service area, but he still worked with us. I had Zane's Doors install a new door from the garage, and also change out the hardware and locks on two other doors. The installation of the new side door was fine. The other two doors eventually turned out OK, but my husband had to redo all of the lock installations because the instructions for setting them up were not followed. They were electronic locks that required specific calibration. Although my husband did not have any experience with the locks, the steps were clearly called out in the directions. However the rest of the hardware looked good. Upon completion Brian told me he would come back out to install new weatherstripping after we painted the door, part of the work scope and for which we had already paid. However after several months of calling and texting him, and trying to leave voicemails when his voicemail box is not full, I guess I have to accept the fact that he is not going to honor what we already paid him to do. He will not contact me back. Overall the workmanship seemed fair, but I would not use them again because based on my experience and also other reviews I see...if there any issues he just disappears. read more

I used Zane's in the past and was happy. When I needed a new front door for my rental I called them again. I wanted a good quality door but not so expensive. I was given a cost and it was fair. Be warned - there are delays in their responses. Its a small business and the guy can't be taking calls and getting the work done so, you need to know this when you call. I know it can be frustrating. I guess you need to decide if the wait is worth it or not. They showed up on the day they said they would and it was installed fast and neatly. The cost was a bit more than I was first told but they did such a good job I just wrote it off as a bonus. This might not be for everyone tho. Everything was going great with Zane's Door Replacement until we realized that he ordered and installed the wrong front door. We had ordered a shaker style front door but when we looked at the installed door it was not a shaker style door. After trying to work with Brian for months to get the door we asked for, we gave up. He does not respond to texts or phone calls and you cannot even leave a VM because its always full. Now we are stuck with a $1k+ door that we don't even like. Great experience having Bryan replace three exterior doors. The work was very well done and finished very quickly with little fuss and mess. We went with heavy wooden exterior doors, one with security hinges opening outwards and a modern lock mechanism. Not your average order, but Bryan's team worked with us to get the wood tone and staining work done based upon floor board samples we provided. After installation he had Carlos come by and do a great job in touching up the paint work. So now where we had three doors that in their best days would be hard pressed to compete with a piece of paper, we now have three solid wooden doors that fit snug and close with a quiet swoosh and a very solid feel. Some of the components we ordered though were slow in being delivered from the factory. Throughout the entire installation Bryan kept us up to date with the component status and today popped by to install the last piece. I googled for entry door alternatives to the Home Depot, and found a couple. Looking for smaller, more local vendors, more personalized service. Brian was able to come out right away, and measure my doorway, and workup a bid in his truck. He then gave me time to check with other vendors. He said he could get doors in quickly, just a few days. Home Depot might take several weeks. Another vendor was backlogged 5 weeks. Another vendor--Case Remodeling, gave a very high quote which means to me "We're pretty busy--take it or leave it" or like "your job is small fries". I got PlastPro fiberglas doors with Schlage locks. Brian subbed the painting to a local guy who was very professional--I would recommend this painter too (Carlos Rodriguez). Touched up with the paint I had of the stucco around the door, and the drywall on the inside. Brian was accomodating in starting early each day, so I could have the afternoons to do other stuff. He also did extra for me by installing my old peephole in the door to my garage. Cost was comparable to what Home Depot was charging, plus you know who will be installing the door, not just who is available that day. And if anything not quite right, Brian will make it right. read more

I had weather stripping that was coming off from my front door. Bryan came out and shaved the bottom of the door and replaced the weather stripping. He said he crimped it really good and I should be good to go. He said I might need to replace the threshold because the weather stripping was catching on the grooves of the threshold. Sure enough a few weeks later the stripping started catching again. He was going to come out on Jan 14 to replace the threshold. On that day he called to inform me they sent him the wrong size. He was driving to the shop to see if the had 42" stripping. I have never heard from him again. I have called him several times but not so much as even a courtesy call. I paid him almost $200 for work he does not stand behind. If you use Zane's door replacement proceed with caution. Update - Feb 17, 2016 Brian followed up with me and replaced the threshold. Problem appears to be permanently fixed. He later followed up with a phone call to apologize for being late as this was a busy season for him. It took several months and several calls to door guys, contractors and handy men but Brian was the only one able to come up with a final solution. read more

He did a great job and even came back twice to install the casing and help adjust the door when the door company finally sent the ball bearings we needed without asking for more payment. No up selling, just very good practical advice & information about what my options were. It's not a common size door width wise, which I had heard, but unlike another estimate I had where they told me only option was custom, Bryan said it does come standard size, just that at this particular size, less options on style for fiberglass (it gets a lot of direct morning sun). The doors are fine--standard Jeldwen replacement doors. The problem is the service. Brian Zane chose to install the doors I purchased from him before the painting was complete then constantly complained about the painters moving his doors to paint. He told me he would not adjust or repair the doors because they moved them. I responded I was paying him $2,600 for new working doors. Immediately, he said "F**k you, I will slap you with a mechanic's lien." Wow, nasty business practices. After he adjusted the doors and I paid him, he was very slow to provide warranty work. It took him weeks to come back to replace the defective latch he installed on my daughter's closet and to install the latch plate he failed to install on my master bedroom's restroom pocket door. When he did the warranty work, he dumped wood chips, paint chips, and trash from his work on the floor and left it there. Very disrespectful. Crude and untidy door installation! I hired Brian to install a front door on recommendation from the doors store. The job was done in a very crude and untidy way. The door rattles in place. The trim is installed slightly to one side. The trim that Brian installed (charged separately, by the way) did not properly cover not the external wall nor the wood floor inside. When asked about the ugly holes between the trim and the floor, Brian's response was that he has nothing to do with the floor .. obviously the holes were not visible before he replaced the door and the trim. Sawdust was left all around the porch and thrown into the shrubs to the side of the door. read more
