The service Jennifer provided was excellent, she would check in if we needed help as well giving us pet owners compliments for giving my dogs Open farm best brand out there. She helped us find a few things we couldn't find in the store. She also convinced us to try the patty from open farm and we gave it a try... my dogs loved it and for 50% I'll go back for the normal price of the patty's. :) read more

What can I say. I love Zamzows. I love it whenever I can patronize a local business and get superior service and products compared to the corporate run nation-wide chains. That is why Zamzows is my go-to place for garden products, and anything else they have (such as propane). I'm not a "pet" person, so that aspect of the store doesn't interest me, but it is still fun to take my granddaughter there to look at the birds, the bunnies, the fish, and even Cloe, the store's cat. The staff there is very knowledgeable whenever I need help, and always happy and friendly. Today's trip was to pick up several gallons of "Thrive" (which I highly recommend for tree and shrub fertilizer) and some grass seed. To be honest, their prices are a bit higher than Home Depot or Lowes or Fred Meyer, but I still make the choice to go there when I need to pick up things for the yard or garden. This is the second Zamzows I have been in and this one had a much cleaner appearance, however it did not have the selection the other location had. My least favorite Zamzows. Gracelyn was rude about my dead fish and controversial rather than helpful or empathetic. When I spoke to the manager he told me they "shouldn't have sold me 3 fish" and that I needed to buy more products. Laughable. Will not be back. My fish are happy and will source from nicer people. I love buying local and I love Zamzows but I love being treated better more. Also please keep in mind this was a $2.39 fish. read more

It's the last couple minutes before they close and I walk in with an aquarium fiasco. So much that I brought a sample of regular house water previously to check because we've only had an aquarium for 30 years and have never had this annoying water mess. Anyway-awesome everyone pitched in, came up with ideas and solution as well as offering for us to bring our filter in for further evaluation. Definitely will be back! read more

Definitely one of the best local chains. Zamzows hits that sweet spot between high quality and low cost--every plant, animal, and other product I've ever gotten from here has been healthy, vibrant, and in pretty much perfect condition, without being extraordinarily expensive. If you go here for fish or plants, you should talk to Cheyenne! She was amazing in helping my mother and I find sturdy, beautiful aquarium plants and is known around the store as the fish expert. I even had another employee suggest that I wait until Cheyenne is in to ask questions about a particular fish. The store hours are also relatively long, so unlike some other local stores I regularly have time to actually get there. If you have a busier schedule, this store might just be your saving grace. Amazing store, always my go-to. read more

I absolutely LOVE this location. I have a ball python and a Golden doodle so I always have things to buy. My pupp loves her elk horns, toys, and treats all at a reasonable price. I will NEVER shop at Zamzows again!!! Worst experience at the Zamzows on fairview with store manager Ken Cabanero. Went in to purchase a bag of dog food, as I am a loyal customer to Zamzows. I was paying for the dog food with $50 bill the store manager had the audacity to accuse me of having a counterfeit bill!!! I explained to him that it wasn't, and to verify it with a counterfeit marker. Ken Cabanero would not, and offending myself in front of a line of customers. I finally did purchase the bag out of sheer embarrassment, and after I calmed down I returned to the store to return my merchandise!!! The store manager was not at all apologetic, nor willing to handle his mishandling of the situation. Zamzows is a great business but their choice of who's managing their stores needs to be reconsidered. I suggest you invest in $3 dollar counterfeit marker so you don't lose more customers! read more

I was very disappointed in your dog grooming service, for the second time. I have a little 8lb dog that will just stand and be groomed, I know because I've done her myself. My husband picked her up, one ear was trimmed a good inch and half shorter than the other. Her face was trimmed lopsided, ear hairs had not been removed and her body has gouges, areas where the fur is long. We only took her there because we couldn't get her in to her regular groomer. Very dissatisfied with your groomer. read more
