If you are a plant lover, this is a dream stop. My stops have been in the winter and I am always impressed with their plant options. I HAVE to make it out in the summer to be even more impressed with the plant options. I don't think it is a good idea to come out here for the summer though, I/you might max out credit and buy everything. ;) Along with a ton of amazing/weird plant options, there are some fun house items in the main entrance shop. Since I am obsessed with house plants, I don't need to buy anything but house plants so I don't really pay attention to the shop. I am always pulled to the back greenhouse by small and large plants whispering, "take me", "choose me". (Those are the plants talking to me). After touching 100 - 1000 leaves each time I am in here and reading plant bios, I leave with my newly adopted plants in tow, regulating my self to only two plants a visit. If you love plants too, make sure to put a buying cap or you too will want to leave with all the plants. Or don't but don't say I didn't warn you. Just so you are prepared, these aren't "normal" plants that you can buy at a basic hardware or corner store, this is a magical plant shop. With it being a magical plant shop, comes a price. Expect a large portion of the plants you look at to be pricey, hence to two plant cap. Just go, check out the magic, and see you there in the summer, when I bring a trailer to get all my plants home with me. :) read more

This is a good garden center having a good variety of trees shubs and plants. The staff are friendly and helpful. My favorite part is the indoor area with a wonderful gift store, there's a variety of good quality home goods, decor and room sprays etc. Theres also a large hot house with house plants and small statuary and plant food and accessories. A one stop place to find anything you need with plants. Its a good place just to go and browse to get ideas. read more

We hired Patrick with Franz Witte to do a redo design on our front and backyard. Including hardscaping and lighting. They did a fantastic job. There were a few delays and mis communication. I have been wanting to go here since they opened thinking it would be a nice nursery to purchase from.  Appearance:  When you walk in, everything is situated nicely and easy to find what you're looking for. Service: 1 Star.  The people that tried to help appeared as though we were inconveniencing them.  Rude cashier assisted others when we were next in line. She continued to be rude throughout the transaction.   Plant Health:  Some plants looked to be mostly dead, others had weeds in the pots. Not maintained and lacking appearance. Overall, I was very unimpressed with my experience.  Customer Service is everything to me and they are severely lacking. Don't go here if you need help identifying plants or enjoy an experience where the employees have good customer service.  You get better help at the Fred Meyer nursery. read more

So we live practically down the street from this nursery and have been dying to stop in and look at all that they have to offer. We see their gardeners in our subdivision once a week and they do a great job. They have a lot of services obviously that they offer that we haven't even started to tap into. Our backyard is a complete blank slate and we are just starting to figure out what we want to do with it. We went there yesterday to look at trees as just a starting point. The gentleman that we spoke to was wonderful and had such a huge knowledge that I think we know exactly what we want now. we did go to a couple more nurseries after the fact and their price point was right on with everybody else and they seem to actually give you a little bit more for the money. read more

Wow this place is pricey! Super cute gift shop but everything seems a bit overpriced. I've been here three times looking around, deciding wether I'm going to purchase some shrubs or one of their planters but never have because I end up finding something better or cheaper elsewhere. The people are nice here and the plants look good but there are so many other places that are just as nice and have better prices. read more

I bought a $152 Rainier Cherry tree and it died before I could plant it. None of the other 5 trees I bought (all from other stores) failed so I know it's not me. They would not return or exchange for me since it was outside the 30 day window. I think this speaks to not only poor customer service, but poor quality plants. Put in landscaping in May/June of 2020. Our main landscape guy left the project about 1/2 way through so maybe that impacted the job? We spent over $36,000 (definitely not the lowest bidder) Lawn struggled all year - although they did come out and fix 2 dead spots Lost 3 bushes - which WE replaced since they never would send anyone out to fix My wife hated the roses they installed. They said they'd give us some sort of credit (they never did) We had to leave a social media post because our contact changed his number. Every time we called the main office - they told us we had to work through our main contact to get any warranty work done. When we finally got a hold of the landscape guy, he said he would come out in September. Never did. I cannot recommend anything about this organization and I suggest to look elsewhere if you are looking for quality or follow through. read more

Love this nursery. Very helpful employees if your able to get one. Wish there were more signs around that clarified what is in the area. If you don't find an employee you would have to accidentally find it. Loved doing that when I was younger but now I use a walker. They have a big selection and a beautiful inside with many lovely things. The specialty nursery off State Street with the flamboyance of flamingos in front on the lawn. In addition to a really good selection of trees, shrubs, sub shrubs and perennials in the medium sized specialty retail nursery they also do landscape maintenance and landscape contracting. They were one of three top notch contractors the landscape architect for our plan had bid our job. Although they weren't the final choice for that contracting, we've really enjoyed shopping their plant products, some of which can't be found anywhere else. Typically the quality of their specimen plants is excellent.. And if you're shopping the retail section the folks there are all so friendly, in particular Josiah who is a gem. We can see ourselves being happy customers here purchasing plant materials for many years as our yard evolves. THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: More than ample amount in gravel lot. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: If you can get through the barrier of gravel lot, the main outdoor retail area seems doable for hard surfaces. 3) FLAMINGOS: a) Yes. They are sometimes called a flock. Or a stand. Or a flamboyance. Doesn't a flamboyance of flamingos sound best? I recommend shopping elsewhere. Poor customer service and no faith in there own product. My wife bought six fruit trees within two weeks this spring and the only one that didn't make it was from Franz Witte. They referred to a 30 day guarantee when she asked for a replacement or refund (what tree does inside 30 days?) and didn't even offer her a discount to keep a customer. Zamzows, Home Depot and Lowes all charge less, offer up to a 1 year guarantee on trees and plants, and are more accommodating of customers. read more

I haven't used them for landscaping but go into their store to look at plants, bushes, etc. they are beautiful however very very pricey and really cannot afford to pay their prices. I guess with all of the west coast people moving in here they feel their prices are in line but not for me. I will still go in there to look but it's out of my comfort price range. read more

Update: After thorough and competent evaluation by several other experts in the field and other contractors, many parts of my landscaping have had to be revised and reconstructed due to complete incompetence and a basic lack of proper irrigation planning. Nearly the entire irrigation system has had to be revised in order to provide proper and complete coverage and sufficient water for plants, trees, and turf. Not only was the irrigation system coverage not planned or engineered properly, it was plumbed incorrectly as well with multiple zones running on the same station and valve. I would seriously urge anyone who wishes to have a decent landscape done with competence avoid FW at all costs. read more

Even though this place is very close to my house. I wont ever come here again . Showed up a little bit before closing. A young guy who worked there came right up to us and said we are closing. I checked my watch and it was 10 minutes to 5. I asked would you mind if we just look around and his response is well we are closing. Ironically there were other cars in the parking lot and other people still looking around. Extremely poor customer service and rude. I took my business to Farwest Nursery, and gave them my business. They maintain the development where we live and I selected them to plant and maintain our l4 patio planters. You can be as involved as you wish selecting plants, or trust their opinion with selections. They take everything into account, sun vs shade and the amount of water needed to have a beautiful area. Even in Boise's harsh summers and winters, I have had excellent showy planters and plants. We absolutely love the design elements for our backyard remodel. The designer prepared a plan that uses native and low maintenance plantings along with a dry creek bed, water feature and berms. Jake Koppes was amazing to work with and visited our site often while his crew was working. The crew was conscious, polite, hard working and completed the project professionally within 7 days and cleaned up each day before leaving the project. They have a very disrespectful and lousy staff. I was at the nursery the last week they were open for the season. I was looking around for awhile because nobody was even there. I finally found the manager who was standing their texting the whole time. I was trying to ask her questions because I was stuck, and she left before I could finish my sentence. During the summer of 2018 we hired Franz Witte to landscape our front and backyard. Jake provided us excellent service. We are a small job (small yard) and every landscaper we talked to either did not return calls, or their bids were astronomical so we would just go away. We called Franz Witte knowing they would too. Our experience was fantastic! We worked with Jake, who provided us with amazing service. He is well versed about the plant world and assisted us in our selections. Our only disappointment are the plants in our front yard. Jake was not available to help us. We went with someone else as it had to done at that time. The plants were babies and we did not realize we picked the same bloom colors. Its not very pretty and we are not good at this (clearly) so will have to live with it.
