I have traveled all over the Treasure Valley looking for plants and trees for my backyard. Hands…read moredown, Du Rite has the best stock, customer service, and prices. Whereas the same tree costs $350-$400 at other big nurseries, Du-rite charges 200-250. Every plant we looked at ended up being less at Du Rite. Their plants are healthy and fresh. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, down-to-earth and has worked there a long time. I mostly dealt with Sherry, who was a lot of fun and helped me choose hearty varieties that will withstand my brown thumb. We jumped in the vehicle they call a "mule" and we were off, whipping around the property to take a look at all the lovely stock. Sherry spent so much time patiently helping me pick out plantings that, by the time I left, I felt confident that we had a good start. I made several visits to look at the selection and ask questions and the staff was always receptive with no pressure to buy. On the day we purchased our plants they were tagged and grouped so that my landscaper could easily pick them up and get them planted quickly. They also sent along a special plant food for two of our shrubs. Basic information: Du Rite accepts credit cards and will also work with landscapers if you choose to have them purchase for you. They do not deliver, but most places overcharge for delivery, so either transport your own or have your landscaper do it. NO nursery guarantees their trees because they cannot be there to see how they are planted. This is reasonable and fair. Most places, including Du Rite, will recommend planting service companies who charge 1/2 the price of the tree to plant and warranty it. We now have several trees and shrubs planted in our yard. We have followed the instructions we were given and they all look happy and healthy. We will definitely be back to purchase plants from Du Rite...the whole place has a great vibe.

Pricing is realistic, delivery affordable and reliable. I initially stumbled upon Diamond Street Recycling on Yelp (weird), I sent out a message and within hours Tifani was in contact and was welcoming with all my questions. After a few back and forth exchanges with prices and measurements I called to make an order! Tifani was great! I ordered and two days later I had my top soil delivered. Delivery day the driver called to let me know when he would arrive (I had a window of time). When the driver arrived we chatted briefly, I directed him where to put the top soil and he was out of there! Because of this great experience I want to make up new projects in my yard that will need Diamond Street's material.

For allllll the years I've been in Boise...I had never gone to this nursery…read more Way before I was even into any kind of gardening, I had always wanted to go to this place when it was actually on the north end...but never made it there. Sadly, there are ugly a$$ townhomes now where this nursery used to be on Hill Rd. Baffling to me that they'd tear down a wonderful place just to put up something so ugly. But whatever, right? It's happening everywhere around Boise. Ok! Enough of that! Last year, I planted 8 rose bushes and 8 delphiniums. Thankfully all my roses are still alive, but only 5 of my delphiniums came back. I also planted clematis. Lemme say. I did not get them here hahaha! I just realized last year....hey! Am I actually *good* at this gardening thing? And for someone who absolutely LOATHES summer! It was nice to finally find something that's as enjoyable as keeping amazing plants alive. I added 2 more rose bushes this year. Total of 10 now. It's very exciting for me. Again, did not buy at north end nursery, but I'm getting to my point lol. After all these years and now visiting any and all nurseries I can...I finally went into North End the other day and HOLY SH*T! What an amazing place! I mean, it has like a little store that is separate from gardening, but what they sell looks like it was all garden related...if that makes sense. There's a coffee shop inside the store! I hate coffee, but haha, seriously, what a brilliant idea! This store feels like a homey home. AND the BEST part...their best employees they have...DOGS!!! The dogs walking around and greeting people absolutely sold me 100% on this place! One rolled over for me to give her belly rubs at the same time a little cream colored one gave me tons of kisses on my nose! Seriously, how can anyone NOT like this place? Even if you're not a dog person, you have to admit...having like 4 dogs walking around as the greeters....even more brilliant than the coffee shop and honestly, just a beautiful thing to have as part of your business. I absolutely LOVE dogs and seeing them there and how sweet they are..made my day. The nursery is out back and the layout is fantastic and so homey. This really is a special place. Madeline's on Hill Rd has always been a favorite of mine (ya know, now that I actually love having a garden) but definitely added North End to my favorite places. Madeline's also has a very sweet doggie there who greets everyone. So yeah, if there is a dog or dogs...honestly, that's an immediate 5 stars for me haha. North End you'd expect to be super expensive. It's organic. Organic anything is way overpriced imo. The prices here there are very comparable to Edwards, Madeline's and others. There are definitely some things...like... Ok, I really want hanging baskets of flowers but I will NOT spend the $$ these places charge. I saw one at North end for $115!!! Gurl! Bye! Hard no hahaha! When I visit my mom back east, I can go to the Mennonites or Amish farms/nurseries and get huge baskets for $7! SEVEN. DOLLARS! That is stuck in my head. So when I see these prices everywhere here in Boise for the hanging flower baskets..I just cannot. Aside from that, I 1000% will be coming back to North End. This place, Madeline George's, and Edward's are my go to's now. All honestly offer their own unique experiences, plants, customer service etc. I called North End last week looking for a Blue Girl rose bush. He was nice enough to refer me to the other nurseries. I love when they do that. Told me to check Edwards. No luck. Found the LAST ONE tho at Far West. Another great nursery. I'm glad I joined the world of gardening. It's so much fun and gives me something to look forward to when it comes to summer and the pure hell that summer is hahaha! Discovering how great North End is...just added so much more joy to my new-ish found love of gardening. Didn't interact with staff at all while there. Very busy when I was there. That's fine tho. We called the nursery to ask about an exchange. They said, no. They offer zero guarantee or warranty on potted plants. The Home Depot offers a year warranty on most plants they sell. I like to support the local businesses, but I won't be supporting this one any longer.

Ever tried to spread 7-8 Cubic yards of bark with a shovel and wheelbarrow? If you're over a…read morecertain age, you won't do it more than once, especially to the backyard. We just had 7+CY spread in less than 2 hours, clear to the back yard, including cleanup. Probably would have taken more than a day to do it by hand. They can reach about 200 ft with their 6" diameter hose. Medium Bark Mulch, Size: 1/4" - 1/2", is the most popular size, easy to apply and has a natural appearance. Some refer to it as Soil Aid or Soil Conditioner. Cost is by volume delivered, but for the minimum 7CY it was $55/CY. Larger quantities cost less per CY. See their website for current prices and FAQ. A good value to me. Service was on time on the day of delivery. They blew in the bark without damaging any shrubs or plants and then raked it out smooth and blew the area clean: patio, walkways, etc. We thought the service was A-1, a 10, or however you would like to rate it. They say they have been doing this since 1995. There aren't many of these companies in the area and we found their prices in line to a bit cheaper than others. But if you decide to use them, plan to book early as they load up pretty fast in the summer. Took us over a month to get a delivery date and time. We'll use them again when this bark weathers down in a few years.
