Four bone grafts that Dr. Carney implanted failed and dislodged from my teeth. I brought some of the dislodged bone graft to Dr. Carney's office on a walk-in basis. His dental assistant was indifferent about the bone graft failures. When I asked Dr. Carney about the failed implants on follow-up visits, Dr. Carney was unsympathetic and dismissive--completely unlike my first visit with him. Dr. Carney did not see the need for intervention to correct his failed implants, yet Dr. Carney said that he would likely have to pull the loose teeth. I now have four permanent loose teeth. I have pain when I eat, drink and even when I talk as air crosses my teeth's exposed roots. Dr. Carney exercises his medical discretion aggressively and diagnoses aggressively. I regret relying on Dr. Carney's 4-star and 5-star reviews and I profoundly regret visiting Dr. Carney's dental practice!

I received a coupon in the mail for a new patient visit that included x-rays, cleaning and a consultation for $59, which prompted me to go ahead and give them a try. The service was great from beginning to ending. The hygienist was very friendly, gentle and thorough. We chatted throughout my appointment like we've know each other for years. I think her name is Kassandra. My experience with her was so great that I made an appointment for my son on the way out. They also give you a goodie bag which includes a toothbrush, floss, toothpaste and small bottle of Listerine. She also schedule my 6 month cleaning before leaving her suite.....great visit all the way around.

They bring me paperwork while I'm in the chair and say I need a deep cleaning and my part that day will be about $800, a total of $1500 or so and insurance will pay the rest. No I was not prepared for this and it was not discussed ahead of time. I thought this was highly inappropriate. After the fact, they basically refused to do any work unless i agreed to do these deep cleanings 4 times a year and after the first one, the insurance would not pay anymore. I would be paying be the $1500 each time - that's about $6000 a year for cleanings which is a money grab! The dentist also wanted to pull two teeth! I left and went to a new dentist. Both the hygienist and the dentist said I didn't need a deep cleaning. He also saw no reason to pull the two teeth. I think they are just doing anything they can to get money. I didn't trust them and left. I ended up being right. Proceed with caution.

My previous dentist no longer takes my insurance so that is why I was changing offices. Upon check in the receptionist was not that friendly and was not even interested in the fact that I had a secondary dental insurance. Yes I know my appointment was on a Saturday and most insurances are closed, but thought she could have it to follow up on the next business day. Once the assistant took me back he seemed like he had no idea why I was there. Apparently they thought I was just coming for a second opinion for the bridge. Got that straight or so I thought. We then proceeded to go do X-rays and he kept going out of the room. Then the front desk person came back asking me questions as to why I was there. She again said the online appointment said for second opinion. Finally was seen by the dentist who seemed very friendly and helpful. He gave me his assessment of how we would proceed, but would need to speak with the lab to clarify the best option for me. Then upon checking out the front desk person stated they would need to contact my insurance the following Monday, which was Memorial Day and I knew insurance would be closed. So I left and was told the office would contact me about my further treatment once they spoke with my insurance (they needed to see if this would be considered new or if I needed prior authorization since another dentist had started the bridge work). I knew I would wait a few days to give them time to call my insurance. I waited until later that week and tried to call the office to see what they found out from my insurance. I did not reach a person as the message said they were all busy, but would return my call. We are now at June 10th and I still have NOT heard one word from them. I guess they do not need my business so I will seek treatment elsewhere. I felt like they thought I was bothering them by being there. Do not go there if you want to be treated as a person. Once again the dentist was nice, but the staff lacked any compassion. I would not go here unless this was the only place in the world to go to. I work as a receptionist myself and I try very hard to make each patient feel welcome and appreciated.
