I never got judged or made to feel guilty for my lack of habits, work needed done, or my current status. They were also extremely willing to work with me on the financial. The bottom line I learned with them: I needed a mass amount of work done, with no insurance, and little to no money while unemployed. And they were willing to work me with me no matter what to get done what I needed as soon as possible. I hadn't been do a dentist in over 10 years, my oral hygiene had never been great and I've always hated my smile. I had a problem with a wisdom tooth that needed to be handled immediately. Since I didn't have insurance, my day to day work is not paid income, and the overall fear of a dentist in general, I was worried but needed to get at least this handled. I found them through the ADA website while looking for someone who would work with my financial needs. I sent lots of emails, made a lot of phone calls, with little to no replies, except here. I sent a message, and within a few hours was contacted by this office and offered a free consultation! At the consult, we were all expecting the worst knowing my history. My self esteem was already drowning and I wasn't looking forward to anyone seeing my teeth let alone up close and personal. The consult, meeting the team, and having conversations with the staff is what made something click in my head and heart. I knew then that this was my new dental home. Zero disrespect, and instead of telling me all the negative, I got a TON of positive reinforcement. Then it was time to go over a treatment plan and costs... My treatment plan consisted of needing to have 3 wisdom teeth removed (as well as my problem child that started this), one cavity filled, and a deep clean. The total for this was a few grand and my heart absolutely sank. No way could I afford this all at once. They were there to assure me that we would all figure it out together. They offered care programs for people in my situation, and if I didn't get approved for those then they would work out an inhouse payment plan to fit me, my budget, and my overall health needs. I was approved through CareCredit, and got all the work needed in the span of 2 weeks. I'm still healing and need to go back in a few months, but it is painlessly done. Well, as painless as possible. Zero serious complications from the tooth removals (I healed a little funny, but they caught it and fixed it fast), zero complication from the cavity fill, and a deep clean later im back on track for a healthy mouth. Without this dental family, I wouldn't have the outlook I do now. They are kind, professional, and fast. They are not driven by the insurance companies, or financial gain. They work for their patients, the happiness and well being of people who come in from all walks of life. As long as they are in my area, I will see no other dentist, and I'm not afraid to go. I found him through my insurance company provider list, while looking specifically for sole practitioners (NO CORPORATE CONGLOMERATES!) that were nearby who had been practicing for a reasonable amount of time and who have a degree from the 1st world. (I don't care where my docs are from, I only care where they went to school.) Because I have phone anxiety calling businesses I was happy to see they have a website with an appointment form. I filled it out. Amy at the front desk called me back pretty quickly and boy, is she nice and friendly! She was very accommodating and made an appointment for me the very next morning. She's just as nice in person, folks. Brynne was my hygienist and she too is a very nice lady, recently moved here from Washington State. She told me how when she first moved here she was temping and planned on continuing to temp because she only wanted to work three days a week, but she loved Dr. Britton and his staff so much she came on full time, and assured me I had made a wise choice. They seem to have very modern equipment and digital x-rays that they can take from your chair, which is nice. Dr. Britton himself is very pleasant and personable, he introduced himself as "the guy who works in the back", haha. He explained what was going on with my teeth very clearly and presented options and was obviously very sensitive to the fact that it was going to cost a lot of money to fix the massive mess that my mouth had become. I know his assessment was accurate as it matched what I was told by my last dentist, and he showed me exactly where the problem spots were on my x-rays. This morning I started getting it all fixed. He had feared I might need a root canal in one tooth, but decided after he dug out the decay that since we hadn't reached the nerve yet, we might be able to avoid it which would save me money and pain. So, he did a deep filling instead. We'll see how that goes. What really impressed me about the experience was that it was actually pretty pain-free. He explained what he was doing every step of the way and they pre-swabbed the gum with a topical before giving me the novocaine so I didn't feel the shot. I didn't feel pain during the procedure at all. I was warned I'd be sore afterwards and told to take advil, which I did, and which seems to be working. I still have several more teeth to get fixed, he recommended doing it in steps so that I wouldn't have to sit with my mouth open all day. I think that was a good call. All in all, I'm very happy with him and his staff. They work with CareCredit and Wells Fargo for financing if you don't have insurance or have insurance like mine that barely scrapes the surface of the bills. And, with how easy it was to get an appointment and completely hassle-free and more importantly pain-free, I'd say you can't go wrong coming here. I explained that what I show is different based on a ledger was sent to me in May. She then said I can show you a ledger and I said I can show you one as well....she goes to speak with the insurance/billing person and comes back and said you're correct, you don't owe anything today, I replied I know, she batted her eyes and said I'm just letting you know. I responded and I was letting you know as well upfront that I didn't owe anything this entire interaction was pointless. -sidebar.....as I sit in the chair the staff is in the X-ray room playing Rock Paper Scissors. My appointment was at 8:30. I've been here since 8:10, the new dentist has come to the reception area to make coffee lol and I'm sitting here smh. Now I'm in a chair, mind you I was the first person here. 4 more patients are called back and immediately worked on (by the techs and the dentist goes to the chair next to me and greets the patient) I get up, go to the front to let them know that I was the first person here for an 8:30 appointment and I'm not going to sit here and allow others to be treated before me. The dentist stops in his steps from starting on the patient and comes over, greets me and says so you're getting started on Invisalign today......no sir I've been wearing Invisalign for over a year!!! So then he looks at my chart and the notes from the previous visit and I can tell he was trying to make the best of the situation but at this point I was very unhappy. Fast forward to today. 7/26 (this review was started over a week ago). My son had an appointment scheduled for last week. On Sunday night they text us and said all appointments for the following day have been canceled. So on Monday I told my son (18 year old) to call to reschedule. He called and they rescheduled him for mid August......no, that's not going to work because he's moving to NYC in August for college. I asked them to reschedule him for something sooner. Which puts us to today. It's now 1:21 and my son has been waiting to be seen for his 12:00 appointment. So at 12:30 I told him to ask how much longer it would be. After he asked they seated him in a chair. At this time, he's still waiting to be seen....which all he needed to do was pick up his darn trays. At this point I'm ready to speak with management or corporate. So if you're reading this please call me. We pay out of pocket for both treatment plans and expect better services than this. If we wanted to feel like we were at The county clinic or any other Medicaid office we would have taken our business there.
