It was like bland chicken with sauce poured over it. A little salt and pepper goes a long way. The blue cheese dressing was yummy though. My waiter was AWESOME! He was friendly, helpful and polite. He provided great service and I enjoyed his pleasant presence. I came after the lunch rush. It was a bit untidy inside and as I was sitting there they were slowly cleaning up the dining area. The bartender (I think his name was Brad) was friendly and personable and made some fabulous menu suggestions. We started with the potato chip chicken strips. They were fantastic. The seasoning in the batter was spot on, and they were piping hot and perfectly crispy. I ordered the Maurice salad, something I had never heard of. It was a very busy salad, lots of different flavors going on, but I am here to tell you it was one of the best salads I have ever had in my life. I am already trying to figure out when I can go back and order it again. Hubs got pizza, half Texas sweet heat and half mobster. Definitely one of the best pizzas we've ever had, you could tell they use top notch ingredients. It's rare we have such a great experience entirely "by accident". We can't wait to go back! I ordered a pepperoni pizza wheel, a slice of everything and I think pepperoni and sausage. They were heated quickly and boxed to go. I also got a slice of plain cheesecake. It was great. When I got home, the pizza wheel was still piping hot, as it was wrapped in foil. The slices were very warm. I was disappointed because I did not taste garlic, oregano, salt, basil or much flavor aside from the actual toppings. Is that traditional in a New York pizza? The cheese was chewy, which was great, and the crust was crispy. I will go back again, because they service was great, and I want to try the pastas. I don't think I'll try the pizza again though. The price was very competitive.

Back then, everything was a la carte. I could order one or two slices and a drink. Now, they have a combo pricing: a slice, a salad, and a drink. The salad options are House or Caesar. I chose the Caesar salad. At first glance, it seemed like a decent portion. But when I looked closer, I realized it was just a single layer of lettuce. I found it easier to scoop the leaves with the fork tines than to spike it. I would have preferred saving a few dollars and skipping the salad altogether. On the positive side, the time I spent eating the salad would have been spent drinking the fountain soda. When the pepperoni slice arrived, a generous amount of my favorite Stubborn Agave Vanilla Cream Soda was still remaining in my cup. The pizza slice was just as big as before. Unlike typical New York-style pizza, the crust was brittle and cracked when I folded it. Also, the cooking process prevented grease from seeping onto the paper lining. As a result, the slice itself was a bit dry, which is not my preferred style.
