Lamb Sharma plate
Cathy E.

I live near this restaurant and have passed it many times and thought I should try this place. Well, today was the date that I tried lunch here and wow I am glad. I ordered the lamb sharma plate lunch and my lunch was 13.99. I was very pleased and this is some of the best Mediterranean food that I have had in Lexington. If you see this small place on Georgetown street you should give it a try, glad that I did!

Chicken Kebobs and lamb. Perfection. Right down to the best olive oil I've ever had.

Incredible food. Just incredible. The ingredients are sourced ... from the source. The food is made with love and good cheer. It's a delight to chat with the owner and it's heart warming to hear of his love of Lexington and Kentucky. We are lucky to have him and his family here!!! Well done

Fabulous! Almost hesitant to post if it will increase crowd size in a small place. Huge portions, good value, fresh ingredients, and friendly service. Falafel was the best I've had in Lex (including Sahara and Nefertiti - both great). Clearly I have been sleeping on this place but no more! Will be back very soon!

This is such a great little eatery! Fresh and delicious Mediterranean food, made to order, the way you like it! I've eaten here so many times, it's hard to say a good things about the food and the very friendly, and accommodating staff. If you're really hungry, they the plates featuring delicious seasoned basmati, rice, your choice of protein, along with your choice of sides, plus a large room of pita, if you'd like. If you're not quite as hungry, there are wrap style sandwiches made with chicken or beef Shawarma, lamb, falafel, meatballs, or kebabs. The chicken Shawarma is a must have, are the meatballs, which I did not expect to be quite so delicious! They have healthy sides, including green beans, cooked with tomatoes, olive oil, and garlic, hummus, baba ghanoush, and everything is made right before your eyes. The falafels are not made in advance, but fried fresh per order, since they are always delicious, hot and crisp! Don't forget the toum/garlic sauce, or the tahini sauce, or pomegranate molasses! Besides being delicious, everything always looks great since it is garnished with traditional Middle Eastern pickles, olives, sliced onion, olive oil, and sumac. Do yourself a favor and stop by this great little restaurant. You'll be glad you did!. There's a small area for eating inside, and a covered area for eating outdoors, but many people take their food to go. This place is hidden gem, which should not be missed!

Our friendly waiter kept things moving. It was happy hour (3-6pm) so we got drinks at a reduced price. The menu had so many tempting choices it was difficult to choose. I opted for the Hawaiian chicken sandwich which was tasty. The only downside was the top of the bun was bit dry. The broccoli covered in cheese was a good change of pace. My wife got the spinach and field green salad with a piece of salmon. It was excellent and the salmon perfectly done medium rare. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommended.

On a Sunday night, there was a wait, but we were able to snag two seats at the bar. The bartenders were great--I wish I remembered their names! They made some excellent food and drink recommendations and were very attentive. We started with a Caesar salad to share, which isn't pictured, and then ordered two pasta dishes that we absolutely devoured. Everything was delicious! The following day, we discovered that many restaurants are closed on Mondays, so we ended up at Carson's again. This time, we decided to check out the back porch. We were expecting a similar menu, but the back porch seemed to focus more on meat and fish options, while we were looking for sandwiches. So, we relocated to the main dining area at Carson's without a reservation. Thankfully, the hostess was able to seat us but let us know that we would need to be finished dining by 7 p.m., which wasn't a problem for us. Our server was great, and we started with the goat cheese appetizer, which was absolutely incredible! Unfortunately, my Buffalo chicken sandwich was drenched in Buffalo sauce to the point that I couldn't really enjoy it. My spouse and I also decided to share sides of the mac and cheese and smoked Gouda broccoli. I was pretty disappointed with both because they were heavily covered in truffle, which I personally don't like. Because of that, I wasn't able to enjoy my second meal here as much as I had hoped. Nonetheless, I would still recommend checking out Carson's. There are plenty of menu options, and our first experience was fantastic. Based on my two visits, though, I would strongly recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine here!

This is a fully functional restaurant and or cafe style place. They have a great menu. The menu is seasonal. It's not simple by any standards. In fact it's a great little high end place for garden parties. But today it's just two simple individuals that are having lunch in a garden together. Now we had some sort of special lunch arrangement with hummus and a Greek like salad. It was fresh and delicious. They have great coffee offerings. You must have the flavored gelato with coffee. We had the hazelnut one. It's delicious especially on these hot humid summer days. The service was great. Not being from the area they had to explain the menu to us. A few times. But all went well. They make the gelato offerings as soon as they are ordered. The food they call at the end, eventually. It's made to order. Now where else can you eat in a green house garden? Here in Lexington! This was a first for us. They have all sorts of Sunday concerts while you dine. Music among the trees and flowers. Wow! You can come to poetry readings and relax as you hear the love of someone's works. I'll see you at the Garden next time.

My partner however usually gets the ranch which is pretty standard for the places nearby. Their toppings are okay, but its unfortunate that you are limited to three items before being charged more. Favor is the passion project of chef Wyatt Sarbacker and features a small rotating menu. While the burgers and empanadas are always on the menu, other items change seasonally or according to availability. Wyatt prides himself and Favor on using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients and building an eco friendly, environmentally sustainable culinary experience. The space is intimate, mostly counter seating aside from one large community dining table in the adjoining room, but it's bright and welcoming. The kitchen is completely open and you can see everything Wyatt is doing as he prepares your meal. And this is an impressive one man show! It amazed us how Wyatt made it look easy (though I'm sure it's not). He was preparing multiple dishes from multiple orders simultaneously and delivered them promptly at a great pace that allowed us to enjoy each dish without feeling hurried. We ate almost every dish on the menu. Dish sizes vary, some small, some larger, but it worked out wonderfully that there were three of us, as we could eat in a tapas style, sharing all of the tasty foods. The empanadas were first, and come with a rotating sauce accompaniment. They were soft and hot, and the filling was delicious. I can't remember the filling, but I remember black beans were involved, and it was actually one of my favorite dishes. Such a compact, juicy, savory bite. We also had the lion's mane mushroom, made with pea shoots, lemon, and creole mustard. This is a mushroom served like a crab cake. You could really taste the earthy mushroom flavor and the creole mustard was the perfect addition. We also had the crispy Brussels, made with shishito peppers, onion, and maple miso dressing. Wyatt did Brussels sprouts incredibly well. Often you go to a place and they are burnt or charred and have that taste. These were cooked to perfection and had a smoky, yet sweet taste. And who could resist a giant plate of fries? These fries are fresh cut potatoes and my dinner companion compared them to the famous "Five Guys" fries that everyone raves about. The true star here is the curry ketchup. No ordinary ketchup, this thrills the tastebuds. We were excited to hear that Wyatt will hopefully be releasing some of his own sauces soon. We also had the cheeseburger, which is a smashburger. I have complained about the smashburger trend endlessly, as I tend to like a thick, medium burger. But this burger was VERY good. Melted with cheese, on his HOMEMADE buns, this one gets a pass as "one of the good ones." We finished up with chocolate chunk cookies, which were served hot with ooey gooey melted chocolate chips. Made with rye flower and bittersweet chocolate, as well as cranberries, poppyseeds, and sea salt, this cookie had such a unique savory flavor. The more we tasted them, the more we loved them. I'm not a "sweets" type of person, so this type of cookie is ideal for me. I wish I could have bought a dozen to take home to my husband. You can get cocktails from arcadium, right by the restaurant, which I've reviewed previously. They make light refreshing daiquiris and gin gimlets, which is what we ordered. My companion liked their old fashioned. Prices for Flavor are insanely well priced. Despite this experiencing being worth so much more, prices range from sub-ten dollars to 18 dollars. Wyatt was warm and welcoming and interesting. We had an amazing evening and have already discussed when we would come back, who we would bring, or whether we might have next year's birthday bash there as a private event. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening, Wyatt, I am glad I finally figured out the reservation system!

Not fancy by any means, but perfectly fine for a neighborhood pub vibe. Business was pretty brisk for a weeknight and there was just one FoH employee who was taking orders (you order at the bar), bringing out plates and bussing tables. Kudos to him for doing a good job handling all that. The BoH kitchen staff did a good job, too, as it didn't take long for our food order to arrive. The menu here is eclectic, which was a big reason we chose this place for dinner. Unfortunately, one of the items we had hoped to try, the Swabian (German) spaetzle, was sold out by the time we got there for a fairly late dinner. We opted instead for the roesti potato. This is a strange dish that involves what is essentially a shredded hash brown-style fried potato topped with sauerkraut, pickled shallots, cheese and a decent-sized dollop of mustard caviar, all served on a bed of greens. It worked, for the most part. Strange taste combinations, but not bad. We also had the blackened tuna Waldorf salad. This was a little different than expected. The pan-seared ahi tuna was cooked nicely (leaving it a bit underdone inside). But it was chopped into small pieces that were fully mixed into a tartar sauce along with celery, shallots, green apples and red grapes. So it was basically a fancy tuna salad. Fortunately, it was a very tasty tuna salad. I wish all the tuna salads you get in restaurants was this good. It was served over mixed seasonal greens with asparagus tips. All of this went very well together and was a really excellent and innovative twist on a Waldorf salad. The menu of draft beers on tap was pretty varied and voluminous as they have their own brewery (Ethereal Brewing). This restaurant is their public house as they call it. I particularly liked their hefeweizen, but they had a porter that was also good. Overall, an interesting place with good food and beer at decent prices. Not a 5, but definitely a strong 4 at least.
