I've eaten their burgers and various items here during the summer for a quick bite and it's traditional drive in food. But what makes them stand out is their soft serve. They offer a variety of sizes. I got a small dipped and my husband got a large. Mind you they also have an extra large too, haha. But the small was the perfect size for me, I finished my cone and was super full. We asked for a cup for his cone and we were able to fill it and still have a full cone to enjoy. The ice cream is soft and delicious, the option to be able to dip it makes it a super fun treat as well. Can't recommend Shirl's enough!

However, the fries tasted like they were cooked in old fish grease and have the consistency like they'd been sitting at room temperature before they were salted and sent. The mint malt was missing the extra malt on top THAT I WAS CHARGED FOR, but was tasty and satisfying despite being somewhat melted. Interesting bit of carelessness on their part: someone's two-day-old Old National bank receipt was in the bag as well. The malt warrants 4 stars, but the issues (fries in particular) knock this down to two. It's on me for not reading Yelp reviews before ordering. Won't happen again.

We ordered the Greek fries, Rick grimes sub, and the Gonk hot dog. Their home made fries and kettle chips were awesome. The food was large portioned and we brought home lots of leftovers. The only negative was the restaurant was a little bit dirty, the floors were sticky and the soda machine has seen better days and shook when dispensing ice and soda. It didn't give me much confidence that the inside of the machine has been cleaned lately, I will definitely be back to try other menu options (because there are a ton of fantastic choices) and hope the cleanliness is considered another day.
