I'd definitely ask for her again. The cauliflower appetizer is an absolute must-order. It was amazing. The spinach fatayer was also very good, and the salad served before the entrée was spot on--fresh, flavorful, and a perfect start to the meal. For the entrées, the Lahm was excellent. The only dish that missed the mark for me was the Lamb Shank. It was cooked well, but everything on the plate had the same flavor profile, so it lacked contrast and didn't stand out the way I hoped. The décor is beautiful. Every design choice feels intentional, and even the music volume was perfect--it created a great atmosphere without overpowering conversation. One thing that really stood out was how attentive the entire staff and management team were. They were constantly making rounds, checking on guests, and ensuring everyone was taken care of. Valet parking is available, which makes visiting even easier. Overall, I loved the experience and will definitely be back.

The one thing I needed was some type of grain like rice or couscous to go with all of this. Regardless, this dish seemed to be the strongest of the dinner items. Also, the appetizer of grape leaves was very fresh and flavorful. It wasn't a big deal, but it did take a little bit longer than we had anticipated for the food to come out. Maybe it was because of the lamb shank. My friend did not think too highly of the Sayadeya, so if you are not particularly drawn to fish, then I would recommend something else. Like the lamb shank.

My son chose this location for a birthday dinner for just the two of us. We both love Indian and…read moreMediterranean foods and they offered both in addition to Ethiopian. There's a big shopping center parking lot with plenty of parking so that's not a concern. It's in more of an older shopping center in an area. That's not very well kept. Either way, we felt safe and wanted to try a new place for dinner. The Restaurant is very colorful and I love that about it. In the photos that I saw online, I didn't realize that the chairs were just covers that had all the beautiful colors but either way it's a lot for the eyes to take in. We arrived on a Friday evening close to 5 o'clock and we were the only ones there until we were just about to leave. I do believe that they have more orders that are picked up by DoorDash and delivery services. I was excited to try the stuffed grape leaves and my plan was to get the hummus with pita bread and add lamb to it for my entrée. Unfortunately, they were out of the stuffed grape leaves, and when I tried to order the hummus, they were also out of the hummus. That was unfortunate, but I went ahead and ordered the chicken Shawarma roll which came with french fries. We both liked our food, which was fresh and flavorful. The fries on my platter don't look appetizing, but they came out hot in seasoned just right! We also ordered the fried green tomatoes and place of the stuffed grape leaves that we wanted as an appetizer. They came out hot and fresh and was very delicious. Both of our meals, including one soda for my son was only like $36 which is excellent in today's economy! We both also took some of our food home so the portions are good. Overall a good experience. I'd definitely try it again. It's not one of my top choices with all that Birmingham has to offer but definitely worth coming back to.

I was excited to see that there was one here in Birmingham area. The first time, I ordered pick up as a 3 veggie sampler and got the shiro wot, ater wot, misir wot and added a gomen. When I got home, excited to eat it, all of the separate dishes were MIXED TOGETHER, making a soup-like consistency. With all of the mixing of the different flavors together, it was completely disgsting and inedible. Next, I went with a friend who had never tried Ethiopian to eat dine-in, thinking that hey, maybe it was an issue of getting take out. So disappointed. The food is SO SALTY that all I could taste was salt. Ethiopian food is known for robust, unique flavors and I absolutely love berebere. Couldn't taste any of those spices or flavors. Will never ever go back.

The Ranch House has been around for many years, and the parking lot always seems to be full. I had heard it was excellent for breakfast, but I was curious about what other options they offered. The restaurant has changed ownership several times over the years, yet it has maintained a loyal following. My friends and I stopped in for lunch on Monday, and I was impressed by how large the menu is. The sweet spot here is the classic meat-and-vegetable combinations. The term "meat and three" is part of the Southern vocabulary -- especially in Alabama -- and The Ranch House does it well. The meat and vegetable selections rotate daily, and there's enough variety that you should easily find something you'll enjoy. The restaurant also includes "Markarios" in its name, and you'll notice Mediterranean influences sprinkled throughout the menu. For lunch, I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap along with a Markarios side salad. The chicken was nicely seasoned and full of flavor, and the salad was fresh and excellent. Overall, a solid local spot with something for everyone.

They did remake it but then the grits were like water with lumps and instead of being in a bowl they are served on the plate - No taste to the food. The biscuit turned very hard after a few minutes like it had been cooked earlier and then microwaved prior to serving. Then we noticed the price on the check was not accurate when compared to menu. This is the second time this has happened to us there - the waitress pointed to a place on the menu that says an up charge for eggs. Well I guess they can charge whatever according to that. We'll also had to constantly flag people down to get service. A totally different atmosphere than years past

We ordered chicken shawarma bowl and load fries with chicken shawarma. I personally think both would have been better if the chicken is more thinly sliced and less chunky. The quantity was good, just the knife work needs some work, haha. The chicken shawarma bowl has a nice variety of ingredients in it. The pita chips in the bowl gets soggy pretty quick, so those would be better on the side. The loaded fries was okay. The fries were cool when we got it even though the outside was still crispy. I neve think cold fries are good though, so I did mention it to an employee. They told me the fries are fresh (which they are, relatively, but still cold) and they are just cold from the sauce. I did not argue with them, owners are always right lol. However, they did end up bringing me a basket of truly fresh fries, it was MUCH better. Overall it was pretty good.
