My roommate and I had 3 days to find a place. We went on Craigslist and emailed a bunch of brokers. We met at least 4 brokers who showed us a few places each - not only were the places not that great but the brokers were pretty rude and money hungry. After seeing these crappy places, we were walking past Modern Spaces and decided to give it a shot. We've never been apartment hunting before in NYC and we were truly frustrated at this point. Then, we met Zach! He spent 2 entire days driving us around, trying to find us a 2 bedroom for $3,000. This is not an easy task in Manhattan, especially if you need something ASAP. He managed to find us a renovated place in the UES. Not only that, he wasn't pushy (we had already met plenty of brokers who were) and was honestly just trying to help us. As someone mentioned before, he would respond to messages at 10PM. I've never seen that level of commitment from a broker in NY. We just signed today and although he didn't have to make the drive from Astoria to Manhattan at 5PM, he did. He works hard, he's committed, he's honest, he's patient. I promise you won't be disappointed. If you're going to pay a broker fee, pay for someone who really cares that you're happy with your new place. I'm so happy that he's going to be working to find my brother a place as well. read more
