If I could give negative stars I would. I am not a serial mover, but all the times i have had to move have gone relatively smoothly. Ariel is the WORST AGENT I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. I contacted him regarding one unit, he showed me another and said "I knew that wasn't for you". Showed me two places and made me feel like i was taking up his time. I went home and scoured the internet again for places, another happened to pop up with his name on it. I asked to see that unit in bayonne and he said "thats far". Well duh.
So we went to go see it, he was a little less impatient this time, but kept making comments like "i rent to so many people", "as long as you dont waste my time", "im like a shark, i keep moving". He asked me my credit score, which i had literally just checked. It had gone down, but was still average-mid 600s (later found out a hospital bill was sent to my parents house and wasnt paid). I also told him i had a dog and a cat. "No problem!" He said, "as long as its not a german shepard". We saw a few more units and he didnt exactly pressure me, but he did the whole "if you like it, lets get things moving, im showing it to someone in 20 minutes" spiel. I waited. I thought about it, and then contacted him for the more expensive of my two favorite choices. I filled out the online app and i gave him almost $2000 deposit. On monday, he texted me, "your credit score is way lower than you said and you have a pitbull". Um, no...i just webt to the bank got my credit score (which i sent him a picture of) and my dog is an American bully, not a pit, and is a registered show and therapy dog. " He said "you lied, you can come pick up your deposit". Being at work, i couldnt come get it right away. I was supposed to meet him later that day in union city, where he said he was. When i called, texted, called, he didnt answer. I got all the way home (on a bus through from the city, going right through union city) and he told me i could uber back and pick up my money. He has a car, and cant drive 5 minutes to give me my TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS.
He later called me and said he could meet me at 9, when i wasnt home. We proceeded to get into a screaming match because he kept saying that i could uber to him, but he wouldnt know where he was until right before and that i would have to hurry. I FELT LIKE I WAS ON THE AMAZING RACE. He said, im off tomorrow so tell me where to meet you. I gave him a place and he said, no, ill tell you where ill meet you. We continued to argue until he said "its not my fault you have a shitty credit score" and hung up on me.
I lost it.
I have now contacted his office 3 times and no one will respond to me or give me my deposit back. I am contacting the better business bureau and the authorities.
What a joke establishment.
Oh and Ariel: I got an apartment with my shitty credit score! Maybe you should give people a chance, and stop being such a money-hungry dick. read more
