Through this search, my friends and family recommended: BBVA, Wells Fargo, Chase, and Zeus Mortgage. I stumbled upon Mortgages Direct via BBB's A+ Rating. I called each one of these companies for quotes and information on mortgages and a lot of them were really good at providing good service with good quotes, but there was one person who just took service, product pricing, and professionalism to a level higher than the others. That person was Brian Crawford. Brian works very hard for you because he wants to earn your business. He goes FAR beyond any other business to make sure you are satisfied. He's been a man of his word and really follows through on what he says. He will also take the time to educate you on all the ins-n-outs of the loan so that you understand every thing that is being charged to you, etc. He answers his calls and returns them promptly if he doesn't get it the first time. He's really what you expect out of a mortgage lender, but MORE! I definitely would use Brian Crawford and Mortgages Direct again because of the exemplary service provided and the very competitive pricing on the loans. My only fear is that reviews like this one will drive more business to him and I won't be able to get a hold of him when I want to refinance or something in the future... But, he's one of those good guys that I'll vouch for and really deserve the business for all the good work he does. Please consider Brian and Mortgages Direct the next time you refinance or do a loan, he's really, really good!

Worst communication, worst mortgage rate and worst mortgage broker…read more The only reason I had to work with them is that they are the preferred lender of the builder- Taylor Morrison. As mentioned in other reviews, Ms. Cres is the one dropping the ball. The number are always wrong, the address, loan amount, rate, and etc which I asked more than 10 times during the whole process. The answer always is "We will change the number in the end" which never happened until the day before closing, Luckily, I work with the sales closely throughout the whole transaction so the builder did not blame me of Pan American's fault. Owning and buying the first new construction home is exciting but also tiring and overwhelming. Please stay away from this broker who did not provide sufficient guidance nor providing enough information throughout the process. I am the one spending hours every week and tried to understand the meaning of every terminology. Did I mention that they have a horrible rate? It costs me almost 2 points to get the same rate as Wells Fargo on the same day. In the beginning, Ms. Cres made me feel like I should appreciate her favor because it is so difficult to have my loan approved. The truth is, when I sent all my documents to Wells Fargo, they gave me the perfect rate without all the hustle. I even locked the rate with Wells Fargo. Sadly, I went to them to late and they told me I should go one week earlier for them to close me on time. Ms. Cres asked me to send her the loan estimate from Wells Fargo and started blaming me for getting a second opinion. It is truly unprofessional. She even told me that she knows where I live and told me to keep working with them. (It's a creepy joke to me.) In the end of the day, with all my effort, I still close my house on-time. I heard back from them very quickly about my prequalification and what price range I was approved for, but I never received a pre-Qual letter. When I found a house that I really liked and wanted to put an offer on, they were not returning my messages on getting a pre-Qual letter. My Realtor nor I could get a hold of them and a week and a half later, they finally responded with excuses and still not an answer to my questions. After all the headaches, I didn't go forward with the house and I never heard from them again. Needless to say, I went with a different lender who has been more communicative with me and my realtor.
