You do get to try up to five tastings of your choice, which was nice since you can double up on a tasting if you really enjoy the taste. Our guide was funny and did a great job providing the information. As far as the cocktails go, I did get a tasty mojito! The cool thing is if you arrive earlier to your tasting, you can bring the drink with during the tour. I love the atmosphere and really enjoyed the tour guide!

I'm not sure when this place was built, but everything felt clean & new and the seating was very comfortable. The menu had a nice variety of entrees, but we were definitely disappointed that they don't offer an appetizer selection for lunch. My husband ordered the jalapeño chicken flatbread and I went with the roasted vegetable risotto with grilled chicken. We both really enjoyed our dishes and did share so we didn't have food envy. It was really kind of them to offer us a complimentary dessert when they found out today was our 25th wedding anniversary; we selected the bread pudding and it was delicious!! Other than not having apps available on the lunch menu, our only other gripe was that it took forever to get our bill and pay.

It was not busy when we arrived for an early dinner, and most of the staff congregated in and around a booth under a TV. You want a refill, more napkins, some parm & red pepper flakes for your pizza, or for dishes to be cleared away? Just look towards that TV and pray your server emerges. If there was a manager, I'd guess that's where they were hiding too. We ordered a hodge-podge of things since this would be our only chance to visit: spicy Hawaiian pizza, quesabirria, lamb lollipops, and charred carrots. The lamb and the quesabirria were the obvious standouts. Leagues above the other two items. They had so much flavor and were a delight to eat. The pizza did not taste like it came out of a wood-fired oven and was very heavy on the cheese (and that's saying something, coming from a couple of Wisconsinites). The carrots were nowhere near charred; the chunks were all vastly different sizes so not all of them were cooked, and they desperately needed that caramelization for depth of flavor.

Rivers Edge Pub & Grub is a really big, cozy, cabin-like restaurant with tons of seating and warm…read morelighting. One of the coolest things about it is the several fish tanks throughout the restaurant... they were very well maintained, and we noticed quite a few people getting up to walk around and look at them. The location is also beautiful, surrounded by cabins, condos, villas, and scenic views, with a horse stable nearby and right along the water. We did wait a while to be greeted when we first arrived, but our waitress was friendly and warm once she got to us. We started with the fried pickle spears, Wisconsin cheese curds, and spicy spinach-artichoke dip. Unfortunately, none of the appetizers came out hot, they were more lukewarm, almost like they had been sitting for a bit. We asked for the spinach-artichoke dip to be warmed back up, but even after that, it still wasn't as hot as we would have liked. We also prefer the cheese in dips like that to be nice and melted, and the chips definitely tasted like they came straight from a bag. They weren't very fresh and were somewhat stale. I tried the piña colada, which was okay but not particularly flavorful. My partner had a Spotted Cow and my mom had a Cabernet, and neither had any complaints. Our entrées came out shortly after the appetizers, so we didn't have a long wait. Again, though, the food wasn't piping hot. That said, there were definitely some highlights. The steak was really good and well prepared. The sandwich was also very good.. we were just surprised the vegetables weren't already mixed into it, since we usually expect Italian beef to come with the peppers/onions incorporated. The prime rib was very good as well, and the shrimp was good and came with cocktail sauce. We personally would have preferred lemon and butter with the shrimp, but that's just a preference. The green beans were simple but good especially after a long day at the waterpark! Overall, we'd recommend Rivers Edge to someone looking for reasonably priced entrées in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. It seems like the sandwiches and broasted chicken may be some of their go-to/cash-cow items, while some of the other entrées may be a little more hit or miss. We were excited about the appetizer variety, but the biggest issue for us was definitely the temperature of the food. I'd strongly recommend that the kitchen focus on getting everything out genuinely hot rather than lukewarm. Despite that, the atmosphere and location are great, and it's a nice place to unwind after a busy day in the Dells. I'd give it 3.5/5 stars overall. I'm sure this place is even more beautiful in the fall/winter.
