This company is AWESOME! Had a large older TV that went out & it was exceedingly difficult to find some place to take it to that didn't charge a lot. Found this company in north Austin & their fee was half of other quotes. However, most companies don't take TVs...even tried Goodwill. The staff are very helpful & friendly so I am writing this review to get the word out about their services. I live 30 miles outside of Austin but it was worth the drive. I was referred to Z-Tech for destruction of hard drives by a paper shredder our company uses. I have gone twice so far with at least 20 hard drives and have been very pleased with the absolute shreadding and destruction of the hard drives for security. The place is clean and neat, the people friendly, and the shreadding and destruction machines very impressive. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. They pulled the hard drives from the computers while we watched and dropped them into a chomping machine. Out came 20 years of our digital lives in shiny bits. Times have changed. At least as of 2017, Salvation Army would not take my formerly mid-high tier gaming rig -- a desktop. I had this stuff piled up in my apartment for years, unused, until this place showed up in my search results a some weeks prior. The recycling was as easy as described. I drove up to the place with the tower on the seat and some other equipment -- a keyboard, some wires, the monitor, and a clothes basket of parts replaced in upgrades (motherboards, GPUs, RAM, etc.) -- in the trunk. I backed up to the warehouse, two nice-looking gentlemen approached from the top of the ramp, they initiated a pleasant exchange of greetings, I opened doors and pointed out the stuff, they took it from me, and then we were soon exchanging leaving greetings. Didn't cost me a cent or much of my time. (No receipt either, and I didn't ask for one. I've no interest in leaving donation or recycling shops with additional recyclables.) I had a 10-year-old computer to donate/recycle along with some other miscellaneous electronics, and a bricked external hard drive that I wanted destroyed. Z-Tech made it easy for me. I rang a doorbell and was let in the front door. I left the computer and electronics near the front desk for them to do as they please. The guy told me at the shop that they usually require an appointment if I want to watch the drive get shredded, though the same guy did not tell me that over the phone when I had called earlier to inquire. Not a big deal though because he did lead me directly to the back and let me watch them feed it through the machine. Witnessing the drive destroyed wasn't ideal because you can only see the destroyed drive come out into a waste area. You can't see them actually put it in, so they could do a bait and switch, but I'm not that paranoid. read more

Z-Tech gave me wonderful service!!! I needed to have a number of desk top computers and lap top computers hard drives removed and destroyed. They were very courteous....we set an appointment...and had 3 associates assist with the process. Very quickly, they removed all hard drives and used a shredder to destroy the hard drives while I watched so I could have piece of mind. I took a bunch of old computers and monitors and printers to Z-Tech today. The men working there were so nice and friendly. They unloaded all of it for me and they even accepted the 4 huge monitors from me after first saying they could not accept them anymore because it was too expensive to process them. That was a huge relief to me because I really needed to get rid of them right then. I needed to recycle a bunch of old computers and hard drives recently. To my surprise, the electronic recycling companies near me were closed to the general public due to the pandemic and were not accepting any recycling on site. After calling around, one person suggested I call Z-Tech Global Solutions. I am so glad I did because they were able to take all my old computers and monitors AND they were able to shred all my hard drives while I waited. Dropping off my old computers was super easy. They have a very accessible drop-off station at the back of the building. All I had to do was drive by and put all of my recycling inside a bin that was set up outside the building. To have the hard drives shredded I had to make an appointment. The entire process took about 10 minutes and I was able to witness all the drives being shredded to pieces. These guys are the best! I had a problem, called Faison and the next day was able to drop my computer off. I am a retired attorney and had very sensitive information on my computer. Faison and his extremely professional staff, disassembled my computer while I was watching, took the hard drive and sent it immediately through the shredder, leaving me with great peace of mind.
