I hired this company back in 2020 and had a really great experience, so I figured I would use them again. Unfortunately, this time around, my experience wasn't nearly as good. The actual people who did the pickup were fine. A bit more bumping into walls than I'd like, but otherwise ok. The problem was scheduling. I booked a month in advance and they said they would be there the morning of pickup between 8 and 10 am. They were texting me to ask for pictures of what I needed taken away as early as 8:15. At 9:45 they texted me a quote. I messaged them around 10:30 asking if/when they were coming b/c the pickup window had passed. And then I didn't hear anything until around noon. Two hours after the pickup window. That's when they told me that they weren't going to be there until around 4. In reality, it was around 4:50. The reviews here are still generally really good, so I'm hoping my experience was just a fluke, but the lateness combined with the lack of communication made for a really disappointing experience. read more

Speedy, friendly, communicative service - have used them a few times for rentals where goods were abandoned and recently for a purge at a home I just moved to and some small reno projects. Can't recommend enough! Sarah read more

A great experience! Matt communicated quickly and effectively. The crew showed up on time. They were very friendly and worked very efficiently. They even swept up the street where some small items fell out of the trailer. I highly recommend iHaul Junk! read more

Excellent, speedy service! I've used these guys 3x, and they come so fast, love the easy text-communication and pay by square. It's so simple and convenient and the team is wonderful! I've used them to clear tenant properties with abandoned furnishings, mattresses, trash - and for our own move when we had styrofoam and other materials that needed to be disposed! Highly, highly recommend! read more

Get a quote before they come. I was shocked at the 1800$ price after they already started loading. I would definitely have made other arrangements if I had known. read more

They did haul my junk and they showed up lightning fast. The automated message I got gave a pretty wide range from 125-595, so I guess I shouldn't have bothered with photos and dimensions. The guys who got there said that there was a) a 250 minimum and b) they don't price by loads. I feel like the price I got was fair, but also arbitrary and negotiated. read more

Matt took care of my clean up needs in Wimberley & Manchaca. He actually saved me A Lot of work & stress. I felt like His pricing was very fair. Spread the word ~ IHaul Austin is worth the call! read more

iHaul Austin - Matt & his crew were very good. - Junk Removal & Hauling Near Me - Austin, Texas

I'm big on the notion that complacency breeds contempt, and unless you shake things up now & then, you're just passing time until you die. Color that hair. Divorce that loser. Get rid of anything you haven't touched or used in the last five years. I'm not really joking here. The original plan was to do two or three bags of junk & haul them off to my office dumpster, but I tend to get anal about projects I start, and wound up with seventeen bags of trash and a second floor bedroom full of skank furniture, monitors, & weird old clothes that even Goodwill would reject. And one more small closet filled with bowling balls & video tapes. Don't ask. I calculated it would take me about sixty-four trips in my car to dump everything. Pffft to that. And Yelp came through with these guys: Quick & efficient, phone calls & texts all the way, and what took me over seven days to sort & gather they carried & hauled off in less than three hours. Get an estimate by sending them pics, because you're paying by their trailer load increments. I had a total of one and a half full trailer loads, and my cost was $840. Yeah, a little sticker shock there, but if you can find some high school kid on Craig's List to do it all for $50, go for it. I think the bottom line is the iHaul experience is exactly like a great Austin restaurant - let the pros get it done. read more

I've been using these guys for years now they are always reasonably priced and more than happy to come by no matter what junk I have . I don't think much needs to be said besides that do a great job are usually available for any job and never over charge compared to other companies . This is my go to junk removal by far the best I've hired . read more

I got great service from iHaul Junk. They responded right away to my request. I got a quote via text very quickly that was reasonable. They showed up right on time and were very polite and easy to work with. And best yet, they didn't try and upsell me or change the quote like some junk removal companies do. I'm very satisfied with their work and will be using them again in the future. read more

Matt responded to request for bid quickly, scheduled appointment, notified me when on their way, showed up when they said they would. I needed a Sundance Spa/Hot tub hauled off...I guess I forgot they came in several sizes so didn't mention it. Job was maybe a little bigger than anticipated but Matt and his team never flinched! They busted it up and got it taken care of. Cleaned up all debris. I'm adding iHaul, Matt and his team to my list of "I have a guy for that" professionals. read more

Tristan and his partner were great. They called and asked if they could come early, which I welcomed. Tristan was super friendly, very communicative and transparent and they did the job we paid them to do. I think they could probably win Tetris tournaments with the way they can stuff junk into the truck and trailer they were pulling. read more

The experience was great. Arrived when they said they would , Nick and Katy were friendly efficient and all around professional. I will be calling back requesting these two again in about a month two for a larger pick up of furniture . Great experience. read more

Excellent Service! Also staged the junk outside my storage unit so I could lock up my unit and get on with my day!

I highly recommend iHaul! It was fast and easy to book with them. And they hauled my couch quickly and respectfully as well. Their employees were awesome! Thank you so much for being so convenient and at a great price. read more

Worth their 5 star review average. Used them to get rid of a ton of moving boxes and other random junk that accumulates when moving. Incredibly easy to book a pickup on their website. Team showed up, gave me an on site estimate, and then proceeded to get rid of everything quickly and efficiently. Super nice guys too. Will definitely be my junk removal service going forward. read more

Great service. I was able to schedule it and get the job done on the same day.

Great and friendly service. We had a last minute need and ordered iHaul Junk. The communication and clear updates on the arrival time. The team that arrived at our house (Eric) was very friendly and quickly cleared everything out. We would strongly recommend iHaul Junk if you need to get rid of garbage. read more

I had what a lot of the more negative reviews have said so far. It's very pricy for what you get. I asked to remove a queen box spring, a desk which I already took apart (4.5' x 2.5' x 2.5" top of the desk, 2 panels of the sides which were 4' x 4' x 2.5". basically 3 large pieces of wood) and then a large box (which was empty but I thought hey, they can probably take it since they're coming anyway). That was $350. read more

Had a wonderful experience with iHual. I needed to get some pallets and cardboard debris picked up rather quickly and Matt was quick to head over to the site and give me a quote within the hour. It was almost too easy. One phone call and two hours later my customer's driveway was clear. Very reasonable quote as well. Will definitely use them again. Highly recommend. Phil read more

Always a quick response and have done two same day pickups for us during moves. Reliable and easy communication via text and Yelp!

Reasonable, reliable and great service. These folks sent out two very polite young men who were "Horses" and got the job done!

Questionable pricing practices, but convenient service. Website pricing has nothing to do with pricing quoted on site in our experience. Website advertised pricing for a '1/2 truckload' was $395. Haulers noted some fees for specific items (e.g. $43 as the dump fee for a mini-fridge, a large-item fee for the 2 mattresses we were having removed, etc). The price quoted was $1600 - 4x what was on the website. When asked for an understanding, the price immediately dropped to $1200. We would have expected some range in price from the advertised estimate, but 3x was abrupt (apparently, $1600 was the attempted price-gouge?). Ultimately, we had to accept because of some work that was starting next day. When we requested more detail on the invoice to show how we got from $395 to $1200 the company refused. Providing 2 stars because online booking and same-day appointments are very convenient, the crew worked efficiently which may be worth paying 3x for some. Would recommend watching for difference between website pricing outline and onsite price. Ask for a more detailed accounting up-front if you get this kind of pricing surprise. read more

I've used these folks twice now, and I recommend them highly. The first time, I was helping my mother in law empty her garage, and she was stressed out and embarrassed about how bad it had gotten. The guys that came out to help us were super polite, friendly, and did an amazingly quick job. She ended up feeling relieved and happy. The cost was in line with the estimate from their website, and the job was done in much less time than I'd expected. The second time, I just needed them to pick up a couch. They came by exactly when they said, were friendly, and charged me the per-trip minimum which worked great for me. I will definitely be calling them again when we finish moving my mother in law out of her house, and need help getting whatever's left out of there! read more

Jeremy was great to work with. Dealing with tornado debris pickup is an ordeal that I hope no one ever has to go through but they helped us through it. His team was great and extremely efficient. They worked through the night to get things done. My mother was so appreciative. We were all very stressed and just seeing all of the debris did not help and just that being gone now is helping things get better. You do not know how much debris there actually is until you see them loading containers and trailers all morning to be hauled off. It would have taken us months with weekend volunteers and trailers to achieve what they did in a day. I would gladly recommend them again or work with them again as more things are taken apart. read more

I had been trying to get some old carpet and old mattresses I pulled out hauled away but no one would come all the way out to where I live. Matt was the quickest to respond and was the most accommodating. I'd hire him in a heartbeat! read more

Great communication, easy to pay bill. The crew was quick, efficient and very respectful. I would use again 100%

The junk was taken but at what cost..... when the 2 employees arrived 30 min late , since they went to the wrong address, things took a turn quickly. While apologizing and scoping out what I had for the job I was told they usually charge $400 , but since I didn't have much it would be $200. I asked for a quote earlier and was told $125 and then another text stating they would update give a quote once they arrived. The employee again stated she would text her boss about a discount. 2 seconds later I was told, " it's $200 do you want it or not? " I asked I'd they had heard from their manager. The reply was that they needed to make a certain amount so the price sticks. I'm not sure why I needed to know the interworkings of the company and who gets paid what, but the tone, rushed atmosphere was not pleasant. And on top of this paying $80 over what I'd been told including tip. Had I they been confronted with more items at my home the vehicles and trailer they had wouldn't fit it . So I'm curious what a $400 job looks like ... several trips.... more cars? Rent a truck on Getaround and do it yourself. read more

Excellent service. Two professionals arrived and made short work of our garage. Would hire again!

This is false advertising. They don't send you a quote before showing up and I was absolutely astounded at the price they gave us after they had already started loading their truck. The low pickup prices and discounts advertised on google and on their website are not at all comparable to what they actually charge. We were expecting to pay $125-$200 for couch removal. It wasn't until they were standing in my living room ready to load up the couches that we received an invoice for $500. It seems that they give a price just based on "eyeballing" the things they need to pick up. As the situation was time sensitive, we had no choice but to pay for the service. If I had known the price would be so astronomical beforehand, I absolutely would have made other arrangements. There are plenty of other companies that have set pickup prices and will give you a quote before showing up. Do not use this company unless you want to be taken advantage of. read more

It was super easy to find this company, as they popped right up and seemed highly rated on Google. I went to the website, described what I needed picked up according to their form. I had checked prices and was pleased with a starting rate of $125, as I literally had three interior closet sliding doors, the interior shelf and rod. Wouldn't even be a 1/4 load. I was glad to land between $125 and $295. As the website said, they would provide a quote on-site and if I disagreed I could back out without loss. I got a text message at 10:50 saying that the truck was on its way and would arrive within 30minutes. at 11:45 there was still no truck. I texted and got a quick reply that they were in the vicinity. By 11:53 they had arrived. The two guys seemed really surprised at how few items I had to be hauled. The three of us each grabbed something and threw it in. Lasted all of one minute. They never quoted, and because their attitude and demeanor was such that everything appeared so simple, when I asked about price they simply said I would get an invoice. Okay, cool. They left. I got a text with an invoice for $295. I did not have a quarter load. I texted back saying I disagreed with the price. Whomever was behind the number, instantly became aggressive and combative. They threatened to have the truck come back and drop off the items. I wanted to negotiate and find a solution, so I offered my idea of $175. The person countered with 200, but when I asked how they calculated that number, they again became aggressive and threatened to dump the items back. Honestly, this was extremely unprofessional. I would not have had an issue with this company, had they been upfront, honest, and consistent. I felt taken advantage of. After I finally got an invoice for 180 and paid it, the person on the number neglected to text back a thank you, or even respond that they had received the payment. Never did I even get an itemization or how even 180 was decided upon, beyond my own idea of meeting somewhere in the middle. I am a consumer, sure. But I also am not going to accept being treated like I am in the wrong. I literally had small items, and a tiny pickup truck could have done the trick, so to try and charge me after the fact with a quarter load, when that had never been agreed upon was ridiculous. I will not be using this company again and I would never recommend it to anyone. read more

Hauled off a full trailer of old furniture and trash. Would hire them again for sure.

I made the appointment for less than 12 hours in advance. The crew texted me 30 minutes before arrival, were friendly and efficient. It was a huge relief to get the mountain of cardboard we had stored up from christmas and some home improvement projects and they even emptied our garbage and recycling cans which were full of detritus from said projects for a very small bump in price. Great service, would highly recommend. Dealt with Matt, he was a pleasure to work with. read more
