We love going to Z,s when we go to Macomb. The family that owns Z ,s is very accommodating and fun to talk with. We had a large party of about 20 people and she made sure to see us all and set up a table for us. The restaurant was updated and had recently been refinished and clean. Most of the breakfasts are standard, but they're very well done and their biscuits and gravy was absolutely delicious. I would recommend anybody going to Macomb swing by Z's and grab breakfast or lunch. read more

I never knew that this has been one of the popular breakfast places in Macomb. The place seemed big with super spacious seating. There was both regular seating and booths were available too. By the time we got in, the place was slow but soon the business started catching up just like how a flight catches up its speed on a runway. The server seemed calm and patient and helped us with our order. The menu had plenty of options starting from sandwiches, appetizers, beverages etc. The menu was colorful and the pictures on the menu made me want to order that food. As we went for breakfast, we were more focused on the breakfast section. First, we ordered a Pot of Tea from the Beverages section. Then, in a bit I ordered Spinach Omelet from the Fluffy Omelets section where I felt like I got plenty of food just for $11.95. I knew I was going on a Breakfast Feast Ride haha. Along with the Spinach Omelet, I got Hash Browns, Rye Toast with butter and jelly and English Muffin with 95 cents extra. The omelet had tomatoes, peppers, onions, and Swiss cheese. It was so delicious. I could still taste the taste. I really liked the whole setting of the restaurant. It was super relaxing, and I enjoyed my food throughout my experience. The staff seemed super nice. There was a patio which had outdoor seating. I really like things which were old school. Parking is always available. Going forward, this will be my go-to place whenever I am in Macomb. The best place for larger group gatherings too. Everything went well, but I wonder what Z stands for. Until, next time. read more

Ordered through DoorDash because I wanted to try something out my usual rotation. I tried the gyro...and it was amazing!!! Couldn't eat it all because it was filled almost too full, but tasted delicious. The pita was warm, but a little greasy and must have still been pretty hot from the grill because the to go box was slightly melted underneath it. Also got the onion rings and they too were fantastic. read more

Took my college aged sons here to get breakfast. It was pretty busy when we arrived after 10am on a Saturday but there was no wait and we were seated promptly in a booth. We all had a different breakfast skillet. My son ordered a Mexican skillet and usually I've had that with chorizo but he said his had ground beef on it. I've never seen it served that way before. He said it was ok. Mine and my other sons were ok too. Just ordinary breakfast ingredients of bacon eggs sausages hash browns and cheese. Coffee was good as was the service. read more

I had "two for you" of course it's a classic. 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, and 2 sasages. I didn't feel like having the eggs so I asked if I could have hash brown instead. It wasn't a problem. Pretty decent greasy spoon family diner. The portion sizes are quite generous, and it seems quite easy to customize your breakfast on the menu. While I bet that during the school year this place is hopping every weekend morning, I went recently while all the students were on Christmas break. Consequently it was dead and everyone there seemed a little low energy. I'm not frequently in Macomb but I'd be willing to eat here again if the opportunity presented itself. read more

The Belgian waffles are incredible! Try them! The menu is expansive, the food reasonably priced and mostly pretty decent. It's not fine dining, but I don't expect that from a restaurant like this. Desserts aren't the best, often dry and borderline stale so maybe rethink that. Otherwise, a decent place to eat. read more

As a parent visiting Macomb, this was the best food in the city. It was fresh, not overly salted, or overly seasoned. You could actually taste the food and not the sauces that other restaurants hid there food tastes under. I had some 'fake' Chinese food that was served with rotting meats; I had some tacos that had good sauce, but that's all you could taste. The pancakes here were so light and fluffy and non-baking soda burp makers...(that's a thing). I can tell a great meal when I don't get heart burn from all the chemical and herbal additives that drunken college students seem to like. Students, if you want your parents to think you are making good decisions, take them here for breakfast..they will find their way back for dinner. btw, for breakfast, try the German skillet, yummm! read more

The food is like your average diner food. The kids' portion could use an upgrade. The kids spaghetti is quite paltry. It is so small, and the sauce is so runny, not even any seasonings, and no garlic bread. Albeit, we have not been there in a few years, due to the decline in service and food, so maybe things have changed. The owner (an older man) is so kind- one of the reasons I had been going there over the last 15 years. His daughter on the other hand, who always seemed to be our waitress, rarely smiled. She is good and efficient, but just not a very warm person. Perhaps we were the unlucky ones to always catch her on her off days. read more

We went here mid-week and were a little afraid to go in because ours was the only car in the lot. We looked on Yelp and read some reviews which overall were positive so we decided to go in. We were promptly greeted and shown to our table by a very hospitable host. The menu had a good variety of options and the service was excellent. Our server got our order correct and the food was delivered promptly and fresh. The bill was very reasonable and I feel that we got more than we paid for so a bigger tip was in order. Service was awful. We waited 15 minutes and then had to ask for service. Waitress never came back except once to tell us our food was next. That was 45 minutes after our order was taken. I walked in and was immediately greeted by my waitress and taken to a table. She immediately asked what I wanted to drink besides water. I had a nice hot chocolate with whipped cream; made from a packet, but still delicious. I ordered the Gyro lunch which came with fries and soup. The vegetable beef was good - a little salty for me, but hearty. The gyro was huge! The fries crinkle cut - very good! She checked on me often enough, but not too much. I ordered carrot cake, but did not care for it much. I am going back for lunch tomorrow. I could see myself coming here for a long lunch, reading a book or with friends to chat for a bit. read more

Had heard one good review for this place from a friend and decided to give it a try. Their review was basically, "Gyros were much better than I expected for Macomb." We went Sunday after an early church service. The place was hopping - with customers and young boys who were working. As for the other several servers that popped up at our table every 30 seconds, we weren't sure who our server was. The atmosphere is so-so. I will say it is well-lit. As for the food: the coffee was weak and did not taste good, but maybe I'm expecting too much from a diner. I got eggs, toast, and hash browns. The server didn't seem to know what sunny side up eggs were - "Do you mean runny," she asked. You should know this in a diner. The hash browns were not cooked, and they use some sort of fake butter spread on their toast. My boyfriend got the 4 deuces (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon). He was not given syrup for his pancakes and was only served one tiny strip of bacon. I don't plan to go back anytime soon. read more
