Very bland
Monica M.

Yeah I thought this would be very good idea I didn't have time to go to another place but this is very bland no flavoring no salt no pepper I didn't really know that I have to season my own food then I asked for it to be spicy it's not even spicy wrong place .... That's my mistake I should have went to Beijing restaurant off of Macon road lesson learned

BEST BEEF AND BROCCOLI! Updated review since I noticed some errors and etc! Listen, I know it's basically the same as everywhere else and blah blah blah but it's cheap, it's good, it comes in huge portions, and large/dinner/quart portions come in reusable to-go containers. I used to come with my family and friends all the time after church and the lady at the desk still remembers me even though it's literally been years since I walked in there. It's a family run business and the mom is incredibly friendly and awesome. The things I've listed under loved are consistently good and I've eaten those same items repeatedly. The fried rice is ok but it's mostly good eaten with an item that has sauce. My family prefers the Shrimp and Lobster Sauce with white rice as it doesn't conflict with the flavor but otherwise we eat Fried Rice with everything else. The egg drop soup has a bad aftertaste so I avoid it here. The spicy menu items aren't spicy at all and if I try again on a spicy item I will ask them to make it super spicy. A lot of things here can be pretty bland but maybe are good mixed together. For example, the Szechuan Chicken wasn't spicy and I didn't like the vegetables that came with it, but I liked the chicken itself, especially when mixed with fried rice. Why not just get Chicken Fried Rice? The chicken is cooked differently and isn't as great. I'd almost ask for the Szechuan Chicken without the vegetables. I ate here so much I got sick of it and didn't return for years. I recently had a craving for Chinese and decided I would get food from here. My family has eaten here enough to know what's good so we get all the same things over and over (with me getting random crap every time as I keep trying new menu items) but we have found enough awesome items that I always end up feeling stuffed afterward for pretty much the rest of the day. I'm pretty sure I won't be eating dinner tonight after that huge lunch we ate. I don't know when I'll be back but I can't hate on this place and I know I will be back to eat all my favorites with my family in the future. To Try: Honey Chicken Kung Pao Chicken General Tso's Chicken Lo Mein: Singapore Chow Mai Fun Egg Foo Young: Chicken Chicken with Hunan Sauce (ask for super spicy) Loved: - Beef and Broccoli (my, Dad, and hubby fav) - Fried Dumplings (fav) - Shrimp and Lobster Sauce with white rice (mom & my fav) - Sweet and Sour Chicken - Sweet and Sour Shrimp (fav) Like: - Chicken with Szechuan Sauce (can I get just the chicken and no veggies?) - Crab Rangoons - Fried Rice - Sesame Chicken Ok: - Chop Suey: Pork - Fried Rice: Chicken - Lo Mein: Chicken - Orange Chicken - Spring Rolls - Sub: Fillet Chicken Nope: - Chicken Chop Suey - Egg Rolls (mom and sis like) - Soup: Egg Drop - Soup: Wonton - Teriyaki Chicken on a Stick

Steamed dumplings. Sorry we ate some!

Another amazing meal from Yum's! They are affordable and the food is terrific. The only appetizer we wish they offered were Pork Egg Rolls and Cold Sesame Noodles. The Lo Mein was on point. Our criticism is with the Mongolian Beef, which had too many onions for my wife's liking but the flavor was terrific.

Chicken fried rice
BurgerSnob E.

Chicken fried rice was bland and required major soy sauce for flavor. Also, their "large" is everyone else's usual. Egg rolls contain only cabbage. Orders are not served in order. If it bothers you that others who arrived after you are served before you, you'll have an issue. This appeared to be the norm.

Hot ham and cheese. They definitely gave me plenty for a good price. The bread couldn't contain it all.

I'm not giving 5 stars for the Chinese food. I'm not giving five stars for authenticity or amazing cuisine. I'm not giving 5 stars for service either. When I want a sandwich, I want some meat on it. That's why I'm giving 5 stars. That hot ham and cheese sandwich was not extraordinary in any way. There was nothing fancy or gourmet about it. When I get to spend $7 on a 12" sub and the meat is hanging out of it like this, I'll give five stars. It was good. It was fast. It was exactly what I wanted. I got what I paid for and I could only eat about 3/4 of it.

Please don't change it or I will be very sad but will make the trek to Cordova for your tasty snacks. Since the pandemic began (yes it is still happening for all you non-believers), husband and I have ordered from every restaurant in our service area. A few weeks ago, China Spring popped up. We love Chinese food and supporting small local restaurants, so we ordered. Y'all... This is the best Chinese food I've ever had in Memphis. I've ordered and dined in at a lot of places, so I'm an expert in this, please trust me. You can tell that they put their heart and soul into their food. Every single bite is fresh and delicious. I don't normally like dumplings (my husband does), but China Spring dumplings are the best I've ever had. I liked them so much I'd probably order them myself instead of just trying my husband's order occasionally. Their General Tso's tastes like it were made by the General himself. I don't normally order seafood at restaurants unless they are, well, a good seafood restaurant, because I'm super picky. But my husband ordered the Dragon Phoenix, so I tried one of the shrimp. OMG YALL. These shrimp are the best - succulent if I say so myself. I don't know what kind of wizardry you guys are doing over there at China Spring, but how can a restaurant 30 MINUTES AWAY, still deliver HOT food?! Another thing about China Spring is its consistency. We've ordered twice so far and both times it was 5-star quality food! No hit and miss with this amazing place. I'm almost done, I promise. I have to highlight the amount of food they give you. The last time we ordered, it consisted of 3 combo platters, Wonton soup, and dumplings. This amount lasted us 8 MEALS. Yes, EIGHT. Quality and Quantity!! Now for China Springs highest compliment... My husband is a chronic complainer... He has only said amazing things about their food. I asked him to summarize his thoughts in 3 words, he said, "Amazing Chinese Food." Y'all.. He doesn't even think I'm that amazing and I'm his wife.

Well today I decided to give them a try again and while it wasn't bad is definitely wasn't great. My general tso chicken was reasonably tasty but the chicken was so tough and stringy I will be flossing chicken from between my teeth for hours. Not sure if was just way over cooked, freezer burned or both but either way it was not good. Definitely a take out place thought they do have a few tables in there. Summary: disappointed and won't be back anytime soon.
