Been awhile since I came here. First two things we ordered was their daikon cakes and coconut rice…read morecakes because we remembered how good it was when we came here 2 years ago. And I'm happy to say they were as good as I remembered it to be!! The coconut rice cakes are soooo crispy on the outside but literally melt in your mouth. We also tried their crispy fish fillet, no idea what the "fish fillet" were made of, but whatever it was I LOVED IT! It felt like the same texture as actual crispy fish fillets. It was flavoured so well and came with a side of rice and salad. For drinks, we tried their lemon leaf Collins which had gin. It had a strong flavour of lemon leaf but it was very well balanced with the gin. It was also sweet which balanced the citrus flavour pretty nicely. Their space is pretty cozy, I don't think they can accommodate large groups but a great place for date night. They don't take reservations so we just walked in at 7pm on a Saturday and got a spot but it did get crowded around 8pm so might be better to call before going during rush hours. I'll definitely be back again!

Unfortunately, the menu doesn't have side dishes, so I ended up ordering the lemongrass vermicelli along with a guava juice instead. The guava juice was a bit of a surprise--not quite the freshly made tropical drink I had imagined. It turned out to be the same bottled guava juice you can easily find at the grocery store, just served in a glass and at restaurant prices. Then my lemongrass vermicelli arrived, and the server warned me to be careful because it was very hot. That definitely caught me off guard! When I think of vermicelli bowls, I picture cool noodles, crisp vegetables, fragrant herbs, and a refreshing meal perfect for a sunny day. This version was served piping hot, making it feel more comforting than refreshing. That said, the dish was still packed with flavour. The fragrant lemongrass aroma filled the bowl, the vegetables added plenty of texture, and the savoury components came together nicely. It just wasn't the light, cooling meal I had originally set my heart on when I walked in, dreaming about mango salad on a warm day.

I can see why there are so many add ons suggested on the app. This was just the base vehicle for everything else. 4/5 Spearmint Lemonade was good, considering how on occasion spirulina can taste like sea sludge. This was used very minimally and I actually loved the choice of ice which was solid with no holes and was filled up to the brim. Not the most bang for the buck however it was okay since this drink was on promo. Really friendly staff at this location, management may want to take not on consistency and be more transparent what is actually in a regular order of Hemp Caesar Salad.

They also have a few tables outside for days with nice weather. I ordered the Harvest macro bowl which was so yum. The tahini dressing and brown rice made for a filling and healthy dish. I also ordered the birdie bar (granola bar), and Coca-Cola substitute. Can't wait to return and try a protein shake and some more desserts from the case (all vegan and GF). Staff were super friendly too:)

So you go…read moreback the day after you visited :) This time I came with a bigger appetite and someone else with a bigger appetite. We tried the fried dumplings , pork bone soup and the Korean fried chicken ( garlic soy flavour ) Again, the side dishes were very tasty and I had to ask for another serving of the braised potatoes. The pork bone soup was rich in flavour and quite a bit of meat. Perfect for the colder weather. When we packed this to go, it's the first time I had a restaurant use a machine to put a plastic seal on it ! ( I originally thought they just forgot to give me a lid for my container hahah). The fried dumplings were presented nicely , but weren't anything special but still tasty and crispy. The garlic soy fried chicken was amazing ! I enjoyed the tteokbokki sprinkle into the mix. The sauce flavour was the perfect amount of sweetness to saltiness. Everything was evenly coated. And I enjoyed that the pieces of chicken were small pieces , this way the crispy batter covers a better ratio of chicken rather than those huge pieces you get and once you eat the crunchy skin it's just chicken. This time we came at peak meal time at 730pm on a Sunday night and had to wait about 30 min for a seat. All in all, would still come back in a heartbeat.

The potato was the star of the show and perfectly soft and just the right amount of flavoring and slight sweetness. The seaweed Was well seasoned and slightly vinegary to help cut any of the heavy feeling of the broths we ordered. The seollungtang was delicious! THey season it beforehand which I have not experienced before, but they season it well. The broth was rich and the meat was soft. It also comes with glass noodles which has a great chewy texture. The galbitang was just okay. It didn't taste like the usual one I eat, and the galbi had a strange texture. I wonder if it was frozen and then cooked. And it had a slightly unpleasant taste to it-- in Korean it's " 고기 잡내가 나요" -- like an unpleasant meaty/gamey taste. I also found a hair in the broth but it was towards the bottom when I are most of it. Overall, I would come back for the selongtang!

Normally, I'm not the biggest fan of soupy dishes, but somehow, they managed to serve some of the best Bun Rieu and Bun Cha Ca I've ever had. I would even say they were on par with some of the best Vietnamese restaurants I've tried in the US. Both soups were packed with toppings and protein, and the portions were very generous for how affordable the prices were. I was honestly impressed with how much food we got for what we paid. The restaurant itself looks like your typical Vietnamese restaurant, nothing too fancy, with Vietnamese music playing in the background. It had that familiar, casual atmosphere that you would expect from a local Vietnamese spot. The place was pretty packed when we visited, but I would say it's a great option for smaller groups of 2 to 4 if you're looking to get seated relatively quickly. The Vietnamese ladies working there were also incredibly sweet and accommodating. Despite how busy the restaurant was, they provided great service, and I was extremely happy with how we were treated. One thing worth mentioning is that they only accept debit cards or CAD cash, so definitely plan ahead and hit an ATM if you're visiting from the United States. It's a little inconvenient for tourists, but considering the quality of the food and the affordable prices, I really can't complain too much. Overall, great food, generous portions, affordable prices, and wonderful service! I came in without expecting much, especially since I'm not usually a big soup person, but I left genuinely impressed. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're in Vancouver and craving some authentic Vietnamese comfort food. I would happily come back for another bowl of their Bun Rieu or Bun Cha Ca!
