Have been to Golden House many times and the food has been consistently excellent. The dining area…read moreis clean and well presented, the staff are accommodating, pleasant and attentive to your dining needs. The food I have found is authentic and tastes fantastic. The prices are very reasonable when compared to Vietnamese restaurants in Inala and Sunnybank. Quite surprised these guys aren't a lot busier but I guess being tucked away behind the Mc Donald's in Springfield Lakes, they are one of the best kept secrets in the area. Would recommend them for any occasion.

What can I say , I've been here numerous times in the last six months and every time has been…read morepretty bloody good. The food is fresh ; I'll add the spring rolls and dim sims are actually house made. A nice touch these days. Spring rolls full of fresh ingredients and the dim sims always have a nice bit of texture with the cabbage and water chestnuts. As I said I've been here a few times now so I've got a bit to say. It's is by far the best Vietnamese and Chinese inspired cuisine in the area. The only oriental food that comes close in terms of authenticity and taste is probably Thai Emperor. Different taste all together obviously but just as good.( I'll review them later) For mains we've had a few .... My favourites by a mile are the Szechuan prawns ( I like seafood though ) and the Peking duck course ... Although you'll need to give them at least 24hrs notice as they cook them there. You've got three courses to choose from with the duck. But I digress. The Pho is always tastey and filling whoever I will say not always consistent BUT ALWAYS GOOD. My partner has ordered a few different meals. The Mongolian sizzling beef , honey lemon chicken and the fried rice ... All has been really quite exemplary. The only downside I'll give is the location which I guess in some circumstances you can't avoid. However I think they could set something up so it cut off the road view. The food is really good for the price , we spend about sixty bucks for two people. Probably better than the price suggests. I would definitely recommend to eat here. Omg and the service is brilliant always really attentive. I would have given three and a half stars but it won't let me lol. **As always food is the main reason you're there so I account for the most amount of marks.

Since we were at Yum Yum for one thing and one thing only - we ordered the two-course duck, which…read moreincluded the Peking duck and the duck with lettuce wrap. Other choices are available, but I didn't feel like soup or anything. The Peking duck (49) was not bad, though they didn't do a good job of cleaning the fat off the skin (which proper Peking duck is supposed to have), and the duck wasn't all that flavorful - maybe cause the sauce and green onions didn't taste right. The dish is really made for about 10 people as part of a family-style dinner, so I possibly just had a bit too much of the same flavor, but I thought the Peking duck was just mediocre. I've had much better lettuce wraps before, and don't think I'll be returning to Yum Yum, even though it may be the best for Peking duck in Brissy. It didn't live up to my expectations, and just got me craving for Great China's peking duck. Theirs is good enough that I'll put up with their unfriendly and inattentive service just to get some of their duck (and crab and buns)! Ah, I miss good Chinese food...

This will always be the place I spotted a celebrity in Centenary. Who else did I sit behind but…read moreBernard Fanning from Powderfinger. The little restaurant is a bit tiny inside, and echoey as I found out, so we did spend most of the time not focussing on our food, but on the conversation on the next table. Hey, it's not like we interruped him, we were the only other people in there! The next time we did focus on the food, and while the peking duck this restaurant boasts is pretty yummy (3.5/5 i'm a bit of a peking duck nazi) there are other dishes which compliment that style as well. Plus, you can come in and buy some BBQ meats hanging in the front display window for take away, you just tell them how much, they chop it up and off you go. The dry beef ho fan is quite delicious and packed full of flavour, and I really did love their roast pork and tofu hot pot. Both are tasty and leave you wanting more. I know that a lot of places have given this place raving reviews, evidence of the newspaper and magazine articles are cut out and sticky taped to the front door. I know that people like Bernie from Powderfinger even go there. But i've been to my fair share of chinese tucker places, and while this place has been highly rated, I can't say it's made my top 5. Go there for the duck and a few select dishes, you won't be disappointed. But make no mistake... this place is famous for it's duck... not it's dishes.
