He asks many questions and listens carefully to assist in his assessment of patients. I can't think of a better physician to rely on for treatment of my own cardiovascular system. I feel great about his assessments and explanations of my own medical condition. I've found a cardiologist I'll be sticking with for a lifetime which I believe he will help to extend under his care. Btw, his image specialist, Tommy, does a great job with setting up stress tests, and his assistant , Breanna, round out a great team. Highly recommended.

Dr. Dukes is an excellent, life-saving doctor whose reputation speaks for itself. This review is strictly about the business practices and office staff. From the beginning, the office staff has made an already difficult time significantly more stressful. While this is not the first issue I've had, I generally avoid leaving negative reviews. Unfortunately, a recent billing experience left me no choice. I received a bill for a visit that I had already paid for. I use my credit card for all transactions, specifically for record-keeping, so I have clear documentation. I called expecting a simple correction, but that was far from the case. After explaining the issue and providing my transaction statement, I was told that the payment I made in the office was applied to a different charge that had not yet been billed to me. This was never explained at the time of payment. The front desk did not mention any pending or future charges, and I was explicitly told my copay would be a set amount. After being placed on hold multiple times, I was told the bill was actually related to a service associated with my defibrillator. I explained that I was never informed--verbally or in writing--of any monthly service charge, nor did I sign paperwork authorizing such a service. Additionally, the bill itself does not reference this service at all; it clearly states it is for a doctor's visit. After nearly 45 minutes of back-and-forth, I asked to speak with the office manager, who was unavailable. I was then transferred to another associate and had to repeat the entire situation yet again. This person also could not explain how I was being charged for a service I was never informed about or agreed to. I was originally told my insurance would cover everything except my copay. I was eventually told there was nothing they could do and that if I wanted to stop the service, that was my choice--only to then be told it would need to be approved by the doctor. It makes no sense to offer the option to stop a service if the decision isn't actually mine. Overall, this situation feels disorganized and questionable. I was billed for a doctor's visit I had already paid for, and that payment was apparently applied to an entirely different service I was never told about. Had the charge been clearly explained or billed correctly, this confusion could have been avoided. Because of this experience, I will be speaking with my primary cardiologist to determine whether I need to continue care with Cardiology Associates, as they are not providing services that I cannot receive elsewhere--without the added billing confusion

UPDATE: Since posting this initial review and after a phone call from my midwife on my behalf, I…read morewas able to get in contact with my doctor and get the answers I needed. Dr. Evayzian is a good doctor with clear communication and kind demeanor. I appreciate his time and expertise. I stand by my statement that scheduling is difficult and office communication is often disorganized, but if you are able to get in contact with Dr. Evayzian you will receive good care. ------ Initial 1-star review: Dr. Evayzian seems like a fine doctor for the brief amount of time I've seen him but scheduling is a nightmare at both locations and Dr. Evayzian is often too busy to see patients. I want to state that I know I'm not the sickest or most important person in the room. I've earnestly tried to act with patience and give the benefit of the doubt. That said, while I am evidently not important to this team, I am waiting on test results that have a huge impact on my life. I'm going to be giving birth in two months and finding out the results to my tests will determine where I'm giving birth - whether I can give birth with my chosen midwife at her practice or whether I will need to be in a more high-risk environment at the hospital with an OB. I am running out of time to make this switch and the health of me and my baby is dependent on someone returning my calls or showing up to my appointments! Here is an example of a typical experience with Cabrillo Cardiology: I had an appointment scheduled for August 28 at 10am to hear the results of two tests that had been completed 3+ weeks earlier. This was a long difficult wait as is for these results. In the car on the way to my appointment I received a missed call from Dr. Evayzian's assistant that Dr. Evayzian was late and that I should come in at 1:15. Nobody asked if this time worked for me or apologized for the inconvenience. When I tried to call back, I had to call 4 times to reach someone at the location of my appointment. The person on the line there informed me that they had no record that Dr. Evayzian would be late and that I needed to come in at 10 for my originally scheduled time. Even though I informed them of the voicemail, and the fact that the drive would take me 45 minutes each way, they still insisted I needed to come in person. Upon arrival, low and behold, Dr. Evayzian is late, and can't see me. I'm pregnant, extremely tired, and expected at work that afternoon. I'm not able to sit for for 3+ hours and wait, so I ask if we can switch to a Telehealth appointment. They agree. All afternoon I have my phone on me but I don't get a call. This Tuesday I call back and ask if there is any follow up. They inform me that they called me and I didn't pick up. I have gone through my phone logs - I have no missed calls from Cabrillo Cardiology or voicemails from Thursday afternoon. I feel gas lit, frustrated, and saddened. Now I'm told the next time someone will have time to call me is 9 days away. 9 days! And not even Dr. Evayzian himself, just his assistant . For a simple phone call! Am I healthy or am I not? Where will I be having this baby? I'm nearly in tears. I can confidently say that Cabrillo Cardiology is the most forgotten I have ever felt as a patient. And I used to be with Kaiser! I cannot recommend this group and will strongly be advising my primary care physician to not send patients here. All the nurses are really kind and lovely. Shout out to the gal who does my EKG in Camarillo and the ladies who helped me get set up with my holter monitor in Oxnard. Y'all are the silver lining of my experience.

He took his time to listen to my concerns and initiated a series of thorough exams for me. Each time I arrived for my appointments the office was extremely busy but the front office staff handled it very well. I also had a great experience with Joey who conducted my stress test. He went above and beyond to make my first ever stress test comfortable. When it was time for my 2D Echo exam I was a little nervous but a young lady by the name of Salvine conducted the exam and was very friendly which helped me get through the process smoothly. I highly recommend Dr. Schmidt. Now I know why he is the highest rated cardiologist in this area. I will remain his patient as long as I live in Ventura County. Thank you Dr. Schmidt!

With this crazy COVID-19 pandemic, I couldn't see him and had to find a great cardiothoracic surgeon to fix the problem, as we had been through this before a few years ago. I called his office, based on great online reviews, and he gratefully spoke with me, in his calm voice, and assured me that he would take great care of my son and reviewed his plan of action. So hard when a mom can't visit her son in the hospital .. and Dr. Odeh gave me his cell number, stating to call me anytime.. he even called me on his day off!! He is by far the most compassionate, caring , professional doctor we have ever had the pleasure to meet!! And a superlative human being! I know this is a long review, but Rarely does one find such a great, Approachable doctor.
