She stated to me that she needed to be in the LOOP? She wanted all my medical records from all my Doc's. That was a red flag for me.

So my husband just got out of the military and needed a pcp. He went in to ask about anxiety medications....... not even a 10-15 min appointment then she get him medication..... it's a regular visit!!! They tried billing us for a physical which DIDNT HAPPEN, and a mental evaluation which can NOT be given since she isn't a psychiatrist or psychologist!! The person who handles the billing and coding is screwing families out of money putting down codes they have no authorization of putting down! Check your EXPLICATION OF BENEFITS BEFORE PAYING!!! It was a $30 visit trying to charge us $350! Luckily we got our money back because I deal with medical insurance daily and March our EOBs with each bill! read more

****Review on the office, not the doctors or PA Brittany - who, by the way is AMAZING & so CARING. If you have an emergency and need medication because you left it back home on accident (because you have a 5 month old child & you're scatterbrained) and you're going on vacation, just go without it for a week like me and don't bother calling. The receptionist and the nurse(s) don't care. You're last priority, & the receptionist made that very clear. You want to know what it's like going a week without antidepressants? Because I'm over qualified to be able to tell you. They don't care if you're depressed or not. They don't care if you have bad anxiety. They don't care if you've ever been suicidal and NEED the medication. THEY DON'T CARE. Put you on hold for over 10 minutes (during a very dead business time), don't answer calls when they close in 30 minutes, and needlessly remind you you're last priority. Oh and to top all of that, they kept messing up my insurance and putting the wrong last name - no matter how many times I've told them in person and over the phone. Which is apart of their job to get insurance correct??? Crazy how that works. Act like the nurses are to busy that they have no time to sit down and fill a script. They check your height & weight, your blood pressure, your heart rate, your temp, and asks why you're there. Same stuff EMT's do. Tell me why it's so hard to sit down and fill an emergency script. Cause I'd love to know. I called again 3 days ago and still haven't gotten it filled. read more

So I did a lot of research before deciding to go to this doctor. She was female, and had great reviews. Well she either bought them, or they are family and friend. I went in to see her because I have been having extreme pain in my right pelvic. First she scares the crap out me telling me I had ovarian cancer. Well after the ultra sound (inner/outer) she ruled that out. Anyways she wasn't listening to me, after I had the pelvic X-ray, mind you still in tons of pain. I call her office the next day and they said the result was in . I begged for them have her call me so I didn't end up in hospital , no one called! I called every other day for2 weeks and I got nothing. Maybe one day these doctors will stop looking at everyone as the same being, and treating as numbers! Do your parents proud and use the knowledge you learned to help people!! Not treat them like cattle, and have the whelp don't know what is so just avoid them and keep giving them meds that don't work for them but worked for the last person! And I have great insurance so I know it's not that! It's about lazy doctors that only want to diagnose what they know, not find what they don't know! Such a sad world! No wonder people commit suicide , even the people who are paid to help them don't, won't, or don't care too. **update since last review...just found out the severe pain is caused by a tumor!! I hate to do this because Dr Dickey's office has me so spoiled, giving the review I am about to give may bring more business. Much deserved business at that. I have been a patient of the Drs since she was a PA and with a different company. There was something very special about her....she listens....doesn't matter if it's one minute or 59 she takes the time to understand. Do not go here if you want the "take an aspirin and call me in the morning" treatment. Thank You Dr Dickey for bring back that small town Doctor that knows and cares about her patients. (Even if we are not so small town anymore). You wouldn't know it walking in or out of her office. Looking for an Outstanding Primary Care Provider....look no further. I have not met Dr. Dickey personally. My review is based upon my experience with the way the office is ran. My 20 year old daughter needed to find a new doctor because she's outgrown her pediatrician. She suffers from anxiety and has been having stomach issues for a while. I called to make an appt with Dr Dickey in September 2021. The first available appointment was today...1/20/2022!!! Despite this, we made the appt. The office was supposed to email my daughter paperwork so she could have it all filled out before her appt. They never did. Even after we called to let them know that she never received it. This morning I came with my daughter to the appt because, like I said, she suffers from anxiety and things that are unknown/new to her seem to be a trigger. She doesn't like to be alone when she's experiencing anxiety and she asked me to come along. When we got to the office the doors were locked and you had to call in and wait outside. There was a notice on the door that said only the patient was allowed to come in unless they're a minor. Like I said she isn't technically a minor. I explained the situation and asked if there was any way they'd allow me to come and and they said no. Here is my issue. They should have told her this when they sent the appt reminder. In my experience, when it comes to medical issues and information that can be overwhelming and a lot of times it's hard to remember what the doc says and understand the doctor's course of action. Especially for someone who is experiencing anxiety...it's hard to focus. VERY long story short, I understand that the office is trying to limit their exposure to Covid but I don't want to have a doctor that isn't flexible. They book appts out too far and they don't seem to look at the circumstances of the situation and assess from there. We will be looking for a different doctor. read more

I switched to Dr Dickey after several sub par experiences with other Drs in Ventura. Finally, I didn't have to wait a long time in a small room. I was seen on time by her nurse for vitals then immediately followed by Dr Dickey. Perfect! Then she's very personable and explains everything really clearly and at my level. She explained all of my test results from other Drs over the last few weeks, she addressed all of my questions and gave me a course of action that made sense for me both medically and financially. Other Drs I've been to just try to get as much $$ as they can out of you. I did not feel that way today! Thank you! My husband and I will continue going to Dr Dickey long term! read more

Dr. Dickey is hands down the best doctor I have ever been to. My family that includes a 3 and 6 year old have been seeing her for about 3 years now. She is amazing with my kids who love her and actually like going to "the doctor." We had a very traumatic year with my 3 year old who was admitted to PICU twice and Dr. Dickey was there for us and truly cared about her well-being. Dr. Maria Dickey is my new primary care physician and I couldn't be happier! I was scrambling to find a new Dr after learning my current Dr was no longer in network for my insurance. I started my search by pulling up the list of Blue Shield in-network providers in my area. There were so many to pick from I didn't know how to choose. I tried looking up for reviews for each Dr before calling. This was time consuming and not too many on the list had reviews on places like Yelp. I called around a bunch and most places couldn't get me in soon enough. Going down the list I came across Dr. Maria Dickey's office. No reviews but I took a chance because my options were growing thin. My preference was a female Dr and Identity Medical Group paired me with Dr.Maria Dickey and got me in right away. I arrived for my first appt today and was greeted by the friendly and professional front desk staff (welcome change from my last Dr). The wait was not long at all which again was a welcome change from my last Dr. The nurse who retrieved me from the waiting room was also super friendly and professional. They all made a great first impression. Back in the examination room again the wait was not long at all. The Dr came in and introduced herself and I immediately felt at ease. She is young, professional, competent, confident, and super easy to talk to. She spent what I feel is a significant amount of time talking with me about my current and past health. She showed genuine interest, concern, compassion, and empathy. The office is brand new and has modern conveniences. They take notes on a laptop during the exam and you get a print out summarizing your visit when you leave which is great! Dr. Dickey is knowledgeable and has an amazing bed side manor. She made me feel comfortable and cared for and not rushed in the least. I haven't seen a Dr for my self is quite a while and she knew all the questions to answer and had insight into many of my issues as well as how they interconnected with each other. I have seen Dr.Dickey at this clinic for some time but in the recent months of COVID I have had several virtual appointments with PA Brittney Senff & similarly to Dr. Dickey, she is absolutely wonderful. During quarantine was not an enjoyable time to be plagued with a number of anxiety-induced health problems but she has been absolutely lovely and patient while providing an open and comforting ear throughout my Telehealth appointments the past few months. I struggle with a heavy dose of "white coat syndrome" and PA Senff is very supportive and understanding of my feelings throughout every visit and I am so grateful to have found her alongside Dr.Dickey and the lovely staff of medical assistants at the clinic. I have been seeing Dr.Dickey for the past 3-4 months, after recently moving to the area, and the return of fairly severe anxiety//depression triggered me to seek a medical aid. Dr.Dickey and all the medical staff in her office, including the front desk medical assistants and those who bring you to your exam room, have been completely PHENOMENAL. Due to follow-ups, regarding medications, I have been in the office almost every week for the past few months and Dr.Dickey and the medical staff in-office have been incredibly patient, attentive and compassionate towards me and I no long feel anxious on the way to a visit or uncomfortable in a clinic. I could not recommend Dr.Dickey or her staff more so and am so grateful to have found them! You may have to wait 5-10 minutes after checking in for an appt. or some other minor inconvenience- but the QUALITY of care is hard to parallel and the positivity and love of the physician AND staff is more worth it than you can imagine read more

After moving to Camarillo and realizing this is where I want to live forever, finding the right doctor was first on my list of things to do. In particular, I wanted a DO because I've had a much better experience with them than just an MD. After my first couple visits with Dr. Dickey, I was very happy and convinced she was the one. I then established my 13 yo daughter as a patient and my husband and son were next on the list. She was wonderful with my daughter. With that being said, I recently injured myself and had extreme low back pain that was radiating down my leg. After a mostly useless visit to the emergency room, I went in to see Dr. Dickey having full faith she would fix the problem and/or put my mind and body at ease. She diagnosed me as having an injured iliotibial band and administered a kenalog injection into my hip. She also prescribed gabapentin, a nerve medication that was suppose to help. Neither of these things helped. In fact, both the injection and medication made things much worse. I called a couple hours later and was told to go to the emergency room and get some "pictures". I did this but the er refused to do an MRI and did a CT instead, showing nothing. I'm on day 23 of my injury. I've seen Dr Dickey twice and been to the urgent care twice. I've been to the er 3 times, once with orders from Dr. Myers to get an MRI. They didn't do it after waiting 5 hours in the er. Today, my 3rd visit to Dickey, It was implied that I am ignorant for wanting an MRI and that I should trust her. She ordered it for me only to follow up with "I'll prove I'm right". This has been a horrible experience and I haven't mentioned everything. I am sad to have to find another primary doctor because I was so happy in the beginning. I know my body better than anyone and this was not right, on any level. read more

I like Dr. Dickey a lot. I don't have a problem with her. My problem is with all the other staff in the office. I have had a few bad experiences with the front desk staff as well as nurses being uninformed, not helpful, and just rude. They are really unclear when they give you information. And the more questions you ask, the more obviously frustrated they get and the more condescending they become. If you can't handle answering lots of questions, you should not be in the medical field. It's too bad because Dr. Dickey is great but her staff could use a lot of improvement. read more
