This is a late review but overdue since I'll never forget how badly I was treated here. I had to…read moreuse a nurse practitioner here named Andria Terrazus when my normal provider was out on maternity leave. I pleaded with the facility to use someone else because my wife had already had an unacceptable experience with her that left her in tears. They said I would have to wait months so I accepted her against my better judgement. On a video call I requested to transition from Mounjaro (current medication) to zepbound. These are identical medications under different brand names for disease state differential. It was obvious from the moment Andria started talking that she had no idea what she was saying. She told me that they were too different to transition from and I would need to start my titration over again. I respectfully told her that was not true and they both were identical dosing protocols of Tirzepatide and it was not best practices to make a patient start over the titration schedule. She ignored what I said and became indignant, visible shaken at the fact that I corrected her, she raised her voice and threatened to end the telehealth call. I again, respectfully asked for her to explain the difference between the Tirzepatide in one medication with the other. She started saying that a pharmaceutical Rep told her that not all glp1 drugs are the same. My response was that she was probably referring to semaglutide vs Tirzepatide and that she was mistaken in thinking that Mounjaro or zepbound contained semaglutide. They do not. I know this for a fact. She again became indignant and told me she would only write me an Rx for 1/6 of my current dose (2.5mg vs 15mg) that I had been on for over a year. I told her if that's all she's willing to write then I would just deal with it. I had a few months of 15mg saved up so I was just going to fill whatever she was forcing till I could get my dose back up and I knew her ego was digging her in and she felt backed into a corner not wanting to admit that she didn't know what she was talking about. Flash forward to her sending the rx and it was obvious she had googled the two medications or used epocrates to reference the active ingredient and realized she was wrong. Instead of changing the rx from 2.5 to 15 which would have made sense, she wrote it for 10mg. Something that people who do not work in healthcare need to know is that when a provider writes the script for the pharmacy, they don't use brand names usually. They just write the formulary name. Do you see where this is going? So she writes the script for 10mg Tirzepatide for no logical reason. Is it my current dose? No. Is it the starter dose? No. Well this isn't the type of situation where you would compromise in the middle. Either she was right or I'm right. If she was right then 10mg would make me violently ill. If I'm right then you're still only giving me 66% of my dose. It makes no logical sense. If that wasn't enough, the pharmacist called me and said that he couldn't get a response from Andria and he needed to know whether the 10mg Tirzepatide was to be dispensed as Mounjaro or zepbound because they are the same. I told the pharmacist that the doctor does not believe they are the same and he was in disbelief. He offered to send a fax explaining this to her. I thanked him and also called on my own. Once getting on the phone with the office staff Andria was again indignant with dealing with me. She wouldn't take my call, wouldn't respond to the pharmacist, she basically wouldn't do anything to help because that would be admitting she was wrong all along. I called the pharmacist back and explained what I was dealing with and he just manually changed it to zepbound so he could get the PA request to send to the office. AGAIN it was like pulling teeth with this provider. She dragged her feet on everything and everytime I called the insurance she had answered questions wrong, given wrong information for me, and caused denials. I realized she was acting out of malice at this point and just switched providers. Magically the new provider wrote a script for... you guessed it, 15mg and for the appropriate brand name and.... Magically the PA paperwork was filled out correctly and it was instantly approved. If you get andria terrazus run, don't walk, away. I thought I would have a different experience than my wife but it was exactly the same. I never went back to this facility after this.
