With this crazy COVID-19 pandemic, I couldn't see him and had to find a great cardiothoracic surgeon to fix the problem, as we had been through this before a few years ago. I called his office, based on great online reviews, and he gratefully spoke with me, in his calm voice, and assured me that he would take great care of my son and reviewed his plan of action. So hard when a mom can't visit her son in the hospital .. and Dr. Odeh gave me his cell number, stating to call me anytime.. he even called me on his day off!! He is by far the most compassionate, caring , professional doctor we have ever had the pleasure to meet!! And a superlative human being! I know this is a long review, but Rarely does one find such a great, Approachable doctor.

The majority of the medical staff at this hospital were excellent. The ER nurses--Jessica, Karen,…read moreTiffany, Cathy, and student nurse Lorena--were attentive, kind, and actually listened. Dr. Ryan Shanannan was thorough, professional, and reassuring. On 2 South, Mae, Crystal, and Paige were exceptional--caring, knowledgeable, and clearly dedicated to their patients. Doctors Kim and Dr. C were compassionate, and the surgeon and anesthesiologist communicated clearly and confidently. Here comes the problem!!!!! Now, unfortunately, the complete opposite experience: Elliot from the ER phone line. Rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. I asked a straightforward question about possibly speaking with Dr. Shanannan. Instead of listening, he repeated the same irrelevant line about not giving out the doctor's schedule--which I never asked for. It was either a lack of comprehension or a lack of effort--neither is acceptable. When I asked to leave a message, I was told "we don't do that." No explanation. No alternative. Just a dead end. When I confirmed his name, he responded with attitude. When I asked his role, he refused to answer altogether--which raises serious concerns about transparency. Patients shouldn't have to question who they're speaking to when trying to get help. For someone in a frontline role at a hospital, basic communication and professionalism should be the bare minimum. Instead, the interaction felt dismissive and borderline disrespectful. It's disappointing, because one person like this can easily undermine the trust built by an otherwise excellent medical team. The hospital clearly has many outstanding professionals--Elliot is not one of them, clearly Elliot does not have human kindness.

Dr. Redding was very good and very nice. He listened to his lungs. Took CXR then said, "OK Mary! Your Dad has doubled his oxygen requirements today! (Went from 3 Liters to 6 L / Nasal Cannula or NC and still only 91 percent 02 concentration on 6 Liters. CXR looks like he probably has mild pneumonia. Only one place for your Dad to be - ED. So off we went!!! I was experiencing PTSD from ED MD 1 year ago. BUT this time only the " "A" TEAM was in ED! We had VIP service from Dietary Services to MDs. Nobody was more wonderful than Dr Vanna Parikh! She actually LISTENED! She's ABSOLUTELY the polar opposite of Dr. "Stop brining your Dad to ED, he should be on Hospice! How many times do I have to tell you to stop interrupting me?!" Himself! This visit we had two amazing Sound Hospitalists: Dr Barko & Dr Abkian. Dr Gil, Pulmonologist. Plus A- Team members of StJRMC Staff: RNs: ED: Dave G, Cory, Jane - Marie / 3 North: Michelle, Eva and Stephen, ED CT Tech: Jorge T / 3 North CNAs: Catalina, Ruby and Anna. Cat Scan Tech: Tammy, Cat Scan Transporter: Chris, Physical Therapist: Sarah, Respiratory Therapists: David & "Bree" Briana. (But all of them were very good!) Dietary Tech: Xavier. COPE Student Adam W! One Day soon he'll be an Amazing MD. Thank You to above and All the people who helped get Daddy D back home, doing better than he has in 6 weeks! My Coworkers would probably tell you that I'm very particular or picky even when it comes to standards of care. My sister, Michelle has even higher expectations but the above people more than exceeded are expectations - which is why I have writer's cramping going on in my right hand for writing all the Recommendations for awards for Exceptional Care Provided by above 19 - which also happens to be my Favorite Number. Nobody wants to take a loved one to ED but you All impressed us this visit! Thanks for your AMAZING Care!! Thanks for getting my Daddy D tweeked and home again, so much stronger than he has been in last 6 weeks or so! Mary Temple, BSN RN

Had previous negative experience with staff misrepresenting what my insurance would cover when they made a mistake on the heart monitor I had requested. She told me the Zio Patch monitor wouldn't be covered by Blue Cross PPO. This wasn't true, insurance company said Dr. Brackett's office never contacted them and this device was in fact covered. Dr. Brackett is very nice, but the staff and office is very much 'warehouse' care. When you arrive for an appointment, they don't know you are or why you're there. New Doctor has private practice and is actually treating me for a condition that Dr. Brackett completely missed.

My dad has asked him questions as to how's he's feeling (symptoms) and Dr. Brackett in these exact words would say I don't know. Excuse me "I don't know?" aren't you a freaking doctor!! He also listed in his medication list to not take his blood pressure med which my dad has high blood pressure and my dad has been having readings in the 190s!! Yes 190 I mean my dad could literally have a freaking seizure!! So my mom basically called his office and said why hasn't my dad been taking his bp led and their response is I don't know. To make a long story short they basically don't want one to be blamed for a simple mistake and now my dad is taking his meds for bp yeah because they know they will get in trouble
