With this crazy COVID-19 pandemic, I couldn't see him and had to find a great cardiothoracic surgeon to fix the problem, as we had been through this before a few years ago. I called his office, based on great online reviews, and he gratefully spoke with me, in his calm voice, and assured me that he would take great care of my son and reviewed his plan of action. So hard when a mom can't visit her son in the hospital .. and Dr. Odeh gave me his cell number, stating to call me anytime.. he even called me on his day off!! He is by far the most compassionate, caring , professional doctor we have ever had the pleasure to meet!! And a superlative human being! I know this is a long review, but Rarely does one find such a great, Approachable doctor.

The majority of the medical staff at this hospital were excellent. The ER nurses--Jessica, Karen,…read moreTiffany, Cathy, and student nurse Lorena--were attentive, kind, and actually listened. Dr. Ryan Shanannan was thorough, professional, and reassuring. On 2 South, Mae, Crystal, and Paige were exceptional--caring, knowledgeable, and clearly dedicated to their patients. Doctors Kim and Dr. C were compassionate, and the surgeon and anesthesiologist communicated clearly and confidently. Here comes the problem!!!!! Now, unfortunately, the complete opposite experience: Elliot from the ER phone line. Rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. I asked a straightforward question about possibly speaking with Dr. Shanannan. Instead of listening, he repeated the same irrelevant line about not giving out the doctor's schedule--which I never asked for. It was either a lack of comprehension or a lack of effort--neither is acceptable. When I asked to leave a message, I was told "we don't do that." No explanation. No alternative. Just a dead end. When I confirmed his name, he responded with attitude. When I asked his role, he refused to answer altogether--which raises serious concerns about transparency. Patients shouldn't have to question who they're speaking to when trying to get help. For someone in a frontline role at a hospital, basic communication and professionalism should be the bare minimum. Instead, the interaction felt dismissive and borderline disrespectful. It's disappointing, because one person like this can easily undermine the trust built by an otherwise excellent medical team. The hospital clearly has many outstanding professionals--Elliot is not one of them, clearly Elliot does not have human kindness.

Had previous negative experience with staff misrepresenting what my insurance would cover when they made a mistake on the heart monitor I had requested. She told me the Zio Patch monitor wouldn't be covered by Blue Cross PPO. This wasn't true, insurance company said Dr. Brackett's office never contacted them and this device was in fact covered. Dr. Brackett is very nice, but the staff and office is very much 'warehouse' care. When you arrive for an appointment, they don't know you are or why you're there. New Doctor has private practice and is actually treating me for a condition that Dr. Brackett completely missed.

My dad has asked him questions as to how's he's feeling (symptoms) and Dr. Brackett in these exact words would say I don't know. Excuse me "I don't know?" aren't you a freaking doctor!! He also listed in his medication list to not take his blood pressure med which my dad has high blood pressure and my dad has been having readings in the 190s!! Yes 190 I mean my dad could literally have a freaking seizure!! So my mom basically called his office and said why hasn't my dad been taking his bp led and their response is I don't know. To make a long story short they basically don't want one to be blamed for a simple mistake and now my dad is taking his meds for bp yeah because they know they will get in trouble

He asks many questions and listens carefully to assist in his assessment of patients. I can't think of a better physician to rely on for treatment of my own cardiovascular system. I feel great about his assessments and explanations of my own medical condition. I've found a cardiologist I'll be sticking with for a lifetime which I believe he will help to extend under his care. Absolutely -- here's a cleaned-up, clearer, and more professional version that keeps the substance…read moreand frustration intact while tightening the language and flow for a Yelp audience: First, I want to be clear that this review does not reflect the physicians. Dr. Dukes is an excellent, life-saving doctor whose reputation speaks for itself. This review is strictly about the business practices and office staff. From the beginning, the office staff has made an already difficult time significantly more stressful. While this is not the first issue I've had, I generally avoid leaving negative reviews. Unfortunately, a recent billing experience left me no choice. I received a bill for a visit that I had already paid for. I use my credit card for all transactions, specifically for record-keeping, so I have clear documentation. I called expecting a simple correction, but that was far from the case. After explaining the issue and providing my transaction statement, I was told that the payment I made in the office was applied to a different charge that had not yet been billed to me. This was never explained at the time of payment. The front desk did not mention any pending or future charges, and I was explicitly told my copay would be a set amount. After being placed on hold multiple times, I was told the bill was actually related to a service associated with my defibrillator. I explained that I was never informed--verbally or in writing--of any monthly service charge, nor did I sign paperwork authorizing such a service. Additionally, the bill itself does not reference this service at all; it clearly states it is for a doctor's visit. After nearly 45 minutes of back-and-forth, I asked to speak with the office manager, who was unavailable. I was then transferred to another associate and had to repeat the entire situation yet again. This person also could not explain how I was being charged for a service I was never informed about or agreed to. I was originally told my insurance would cover everything except my copay. I was eventually told there was nothing they could do and that if I wanted to stop the service, that was my choice--only to then be told it would need to be approved by the doctor. It makes no sense to offer the option to stop a service if the decision isn't actually mine. Overall, this situation feels disorganized and questionable. I was billed for a doctor's visit I had already paid for, and that payment was apparently applied to an entirely different service I was never told about. Had the charge been clearly explained or billed correctly, this confusion could have been avoided. Because of this experience, I will be speaking with my primary cardiologist to determine whether I need to continue care with Cardiology Associates, as they are not providing services that I cannot receive elsewhere--without the added billing confusion
