Expressed confusion, as this was difficult if not impossible given the broken shoulder and clavicle, on the same side. The tech acknowledged they misread the scans and assumed my shoulder/clavicle were not broken - they had only looked at the MRI request for the arm, not my total patient history. I was sent to another MRI facility the next day, where I was informed by a supervisor that I had been "illegally billed" the entirety of my deductible for surgery, which had not yet occurred. I called the office, was given an immediate refund, and had the MRI after paying a portion of the deductible. Three days later - and the Sunday before scheduled surgery - I called the hospital, as I had still not rec'd confirmation of logistics. The MRI still was not in. Siva called me at 5p Sunday night for the first time to cancel my Monday morning surgery, stating he "didn't think his care team could meet my needs." Epic understatement from a logistical standpoint alone, before factoring myriad other tangible and intangible factors. At minimum, an EQ and logistical experience of negative 100, start to finish, with zero acknowledgment or apology. Choose your adventure.

Had a print out of my history from the Medtronic and was in Afib regularly. When I went to see Dr Dev I had to request to see him specifically. Otherwise you will only see his PA. Anyway, Dev looked at the report and said some doctor speak and was on his way. I was evaluated for ongoing, debilitating knee pain that has significantly affected my mobility and…read moredaily functioning. Despite MRI findings that documented clinically significant relevant abnormalities, Dr. Hartman repeatedly described the imaging as "normal" and dismissed my concerns without providing a medically supported rationale. The consultation did not include adequate discussion or review of the imaging or imaging results, potential diagnoses, or an evidence-based treatment plan. When I expressed that I was experiencing 10/10 pain and asked how I was expected to function, Dr. Hartman responded, "Well, I come to work with 10/10. I guess it depends on the person." This comment felt extremely condescending and clinically inappropriate. At no point did he assess how the pain was affecting my ability to walk, work, sleep, or perform basic daily tasks. Instead, he referenced anecdotal stories about his brother and a prior patient, which were neither relevant nor helpful. Dr. Hartman attributed the pain solely to fibromyalgia despite the following issues: * The pain is highly localized to my knees rather than widespread. * It does not resemble my typical fibromyalgia pain. * The MRI report included findings that reasonably correlate with mechanical or structural knee pain. His refusal to acknowledge or meaningfully address these findings resulted in inadequate assessment and left me without a clear diagnosis or appropriate follow-up plan. The care provided did not meet clinical expectations and left me feeling dismissed, invalidated, and unsupported. I have filed a formal grievance with Blue Shield and Ventura Orthopedics.

I've never felt judged there, which I can't always say with some other healthcare providers. We tend to make afternoon appointments, because I work full time, and it's less invasive to my work obligations. Yesterday they were running behind, which became understandable once we were called into an exam room. They have a new EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system, aided by AI, which means that the system handles a lot of the record logging, giving the doctor more time to focus on discussions with the patients, plus the physical exam. As this is new for them, there were a few minor glitches. I could tell how excited Dr. A is for this new development. Given how many patients he sees each day, an effective new tool should be very helpful to him. I appreciate the information he shared about options for medications for a condition I have to manage.
