Out of all the Yum Yum"s in Calgary, this one has the nicest interior. Unlike the other two, they have someone who takes your order. I like the food here, it always comes out hot and tasty. The one downside to eating here, is it takes a long time to get your food. If you're in a hurry, then I would suggest eating elsewhere. If you wany some tasty deep fried chicken with a mixture of some Korean food then you might want to check this place out.

I went there with a co-worker for lunch for our first visit at Yum Yum BBQ. They haven't done much advertising. The only reason we knew of its existence was from a previous visit to another restaurant at the mall. I have been craving Korean BBQ chicken and immediately thought of coming to this place. I ordered a 2-piece Chicken Meal which includes small fries and a can of soft drink. The portion was food and was the perfect size lunch meal for me. I had the shallot chicken and they were yummy. Something to be aware of is that there is still mildly spicy taste, which I think is in the batter... so it doesn't really matter which flavour (Yum Yum, Shallot, Spicy, Regular Fried) you order, it will be at least slightly spicy... something to be aware of if you have young kids. The service received by the waitress was great. The interior of restaurant is well thought out and decorated nicely. I will be back but next time I will order just the fried chicken without the fries so I can eat an extra piece of chicken!

Hands down the best Korean fried chicken I've ever had. If they had this in Houston, I would be a regular customer! The chicken is extremely crispy on the outside and sooo juicy on the inside. The place itself is pretty small but luckily we went at a time where it wasn't busy so we didn't have to wait. I would recommend the shallot chicken!

I want to rate it 3.5 Hmm let's see... The serving is decent. I got the BBQ beef combo. The beef was good, rice was soft, the dumplings were not good it tasted like oil with consistency. I'm not impressed with the salad that came with it. Any salad that only has iceberg lettuce is a useless salad. I couldn't taste the chicken because the beef overpowered the taste. But the consistency was nice and it wasn't overcooked. The chicken is awkwardly cut though, there was a piece that I had no clue what part of the chicken it was. The service is good. The server is nice and sweet, there was a customer who was asking freaky weird questions about the waitress though. I was impressed how nice she was regardless of the creepy factor. Overall it's a mediocre fast food restaurant. For the 14 bucks I spent I would rather go across the street to insadong and feast in all you can eat buffet for 25 bucks.

4 girls ordered sweet and chili chicken half. Shallot chicken half. And fried potatoes, abt 40 bucks in total. Fast serving. Always love the chickens with some beer at winter

Do you like Korean-style fried chicken? Are you near Pacific Place? Do you like a endless stream of K-Pop music videos? If you do, then you've come to the right place. You can't get it this restaurant front within the Pacific Place - you have to enter from the outside. Once you are inside, there is the unmistakeable strains of K-Pop blaring from the TV combined with friendly and helpful servers wearing what looks to be a pseudo military uniform complete with a badge of the South Korean flag. Ordering is fast but the cooking is not, it took quite some time for the chicken to arrive every time I was there, but it was worth the wait! Served hot out of the deep fryer with all the Korean Fried Chicken goodness I know and love. It is a convenient choice when you are in the area and don't want the typical food court experience that you get inside Pacific Place.

The exterior of the building appears that it is situated in an old house, which definitely adds to the charm. The staff greeted me an led me to a table on the upper floor. Immediately, I noticed that most parties in here were large and the portions were family style. Definitely something that I wish I had brought friends to and not just come in as a solo diner. However, the staff did not make me feel weird about this at all. I ordered a Lychee Time cocktail and a Rose Rice Cake curry. They brought out an included kimchee plate, which was certainly enough for 4 people. The Rose Rice Cake dish was the same, enough for 2-4 people to share. Both the kimchi and the curry were amazing, I enjoyed both immesely. My only complaint was that my drink was far too sweet, I had to water it down to finish it. When it came time for my inevitable leftovers, the staff had great suggestions for reheating and I was even able to purchase udon to go for the leftovers. Amazing homey experience that I would recommend to anyone in town (preferably with friends!).

My craving must have been intense because I didn't even think about it and started my long walk there. The layout of the restaurant is interesting. The bathroom is in the basement, the first floor is a bit small but has some tables, and the second floor has most of the dining area space. Interior decoration was pretty minimal but there was kpop playing and it was a bit dark in there so if you're looking to get a few drinks and Korean food with some friends, this would be a great spot. When I was sat at my table and I looked through the menu, the first thing that popped in my head was that they had quite an extensive menu. From army stew, bibimbap, bulgogi, and what I decided to get Dakgalbi (marinated chicken bbq). The Dakgalbi was really good and marinated well. I wasn't expecting the fried rice at the end to come with it like in Korea which was also really good. The only critique I have regarding the food is that there weren't that many side dishes (banchan) and the lettuce on the side was an extra $5. Service was on point. Thu and the woman server, I forgot her name, worked well as a team to make sure everyone was taken care of even though they had to walk up and down those stairs probably 10+ times just when I was there.

The inside is also rather small, they seat maybe 7 tables each with 2-4 people per table. There's tons of traditional Korean decorations everywhere. The staff is also all Korean and greet you in Korean. There's unlimited high quality purple bean rice. The sides are nothing to write home about other than the macaroni salad. They had an interesting take on it by adding imitation crab - I'm not sure I liked that part. Otherwise it's similar to the chain BCD tofu. The ever popular seafood pajeon (a pancake-like dish) is made extremely thick and therefore isn't crispy at all like pajeon normally is. I don't really recommend this item. Interestingly there's a bulgogi dish with vegetables and noodles (thin, clear). Makes the dish much more hearty. The flavor and quality was pretty good. Seafood tofu soup. They do a great job of making it spicy if you ask. The flavoring has that umami feel. Overall, not overwhelmingly amazing. A bit on the pricey side. They do have a very wide range of menu items and some pretty authentic items that aren't normally regularly provided in Korean restaurants. Service is fine - didn't meet anyone rude or anyone particularly amazing either.

There restaurant is split into two section - the ground floor which has the kbbq and the rooftop (oktop) which has some additional menu items. Both sections were nicely decorated and prepared with side dishes ready at the table upon entering. We ordered the kongbul which was served with broth, and it was the perfect amount for the 2 of us. Although the kongbul was delicious on its own, the highlight of the meal were actually the side dishes - they were some of the tastiest side dishes I've ever had at a Korean restaurant. Each was full of flavour and fresh, and tasted home-cooked. Our server was friendly and attentive and was quick to refill our side-dishes and waters. One of the servers also gave us some japchae (as service) which was such a pleasant surprise and was soo tasty! Fingers crossed Korilla will expand to Toronto!
