Had our wedding cake prepped by Yuki. There were several pros and several cons that I would like to discuss here. For start, she was very easy to work with. She communicated very well throughout the whole process and the cake looked very nice. Where we felt like we were let down was the quality and taste of the cake at the wedding. My basic assumption with wedding cakes is dry, bland cake with a thick layer of hard fondant/sugar....until I had a cake by Yuki! I was totally surprised how delicious her cakes are and absolutely beautiful. She's a magician with sugar and makes these amazing flowers that look real! and her buttercream is so smooth it looks like fondant but tastes so creamy and light. Her cakes are a total delight! YUM! would 100% recommend her for your wedding cake. She's super prompt with correspondences and super super creative. If you're driving to points North(i.e. Tremblant, Grey Rocks) this is an excellent place to pull off the road and get some great food that isn't the same old mega chain stamped-out crapola. With Yuki baking in the back(trained in France, yo!) and her super friendly husband working the front(his name escapes me) it can't be beat. They have French and Japanese pastries(the pain au chocolat was to die for), sandwiches, soups, espresso/cappu, and some groceries. That part of Montreal, Sherbrooke, is a really cool place to walk around as well. read more

I'm kinda in love with Yuki Bakery! This bakery is located on Sherbrooke, a couple blocks East of Decarie and makes some really fantastic desserts. I'm a huge fan of green tea products so naturally I gravitated towards TONS of items :D I tried the Green Tea Cupcake (it was super delicious) as well as their Green Tea, White Chocolate cookie - so very well done. I also tried the Red Velvet Cupcake, and Salted Caramel Cupcake. The one thing I really enjoyed about these desserts is they aren't sugary sweet. I found that they were the perfect amount of sweetness, moistness, and you can really enjoy the flavours without being masked by sugar. I'm looking forward to going back and trying out the other varieties. I noticed on the sign that they did featured cupcakes such as Apple Pie and Pumpkin Pie which was really neat. read more

Small bakery with some Japanese-influenced items. Excellent rolls and whole-grain breads, their kaiser rolls and 9-grain loaf are standouts. The cookies and cupcakes are excellent, as are most of their other desserts. I am especially fond of the chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons and orange-almond shortbread cookies. Who would have thought a Japanese owned patisserie in Montreal. I had a pleasure of having wonderful macha flavored french pastries at a friend's house. It reminded me of Shiseido Parlor in Tokyo. I often find that, when it comes to desserts, the prettier they are the less likely they are to be tasty and delicious. Yuki, however, manages to make beautifully artistic creations that make your mouth water for more! I had to order a birthday cake at the very last minute. Hank was super nice and accepted my order the night before, even though they were fully booked. I was able to have the cake delivered to me the next day and I can't thank Yuki Bakery enough. It appears to be quite popular,as there is a regular clientele who spend and spend big! I only went in to buy some onion rolls,which were very good,btw,and reasonsbly priced. My friend and I stumbled upon Yuki by mere accident while walking to the Metro station, and it was indeed a lovely surprise! Their chocolate croissant is out of this world, the texture of the dough and flavor of the chocolate were unlike any croissant I had ever tasted.
