This tiny store located down an alley is packed with imported items. Clothing, bags, jewelry, backpacks and wall art with an ethnic flair. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Street and lot parking. read more

Their website said their hours were from 11:00-8:00. I went last week at noon and luckily caught the salesperson just as he was closing. He told me they weren't open. I complained because I tried calling and the phone number wasn't working. He reluctantly let me quickly purchase what I was there for. Not a good business practice! At least change your website hours and list a working phone number! read more

Really unique little store that has lots of unique treasures and so glad I stopped in today! After yoga class downstairs, I popped in to see what this place was about, and wow, this is a treasure trove of items from all over the world. Sweet! Clay, the owner, was super nice and we chatted the entire time I was looking around the store. He told me that this store has been here for 25 years and that he goes around the world looking for items and buys them up and then has them shipped back to here. Great! The reason the store is called Yucatecan Imports is when he first opened the store, he originally was bringing back hammocks from Yucatan, nice little history there! Each item in the store is marked with price and also where it comes from, so super cool! This is about as fair trade as it can be. Clay has hand painted scrolls from Thailand, Buddha calendars from Nepal, bookmarks from Turkey, earrings from Peru and Mexico, and my favorite, he has a chirango from Ecuador (however, the chirango was made in Bolivia)! I wanted to stay in here all day and look at everything he has as it is super neat all the wares he carries. He doesn't operate an online business, so he's old school, and wants you to come into his store, great! I ended up buying a mini wooden carved elephant from Thailand, this is a gift for my mom as she loves elephants (and so do I) and will send it to her! I'll definitely be back here especially when I have to find unique gift items for friends and family! Great little shop hidden away, come check it out! read more

Very nice owner and bought some stuff in November. Only 3 stars because there were some keychain items I found to be offensive. Happy to discuss with owner but the number listed that I tried calling said it was not a working number. If the owner comments below with an email or number I can call, I am happy to reach out and discuss in more detail/change review. Thanks! read more

Such a cool shop. The place is packed with colorful little treasures and garments from around the world. The owner appears to be the entire staff and you get the feeling that he travels and personally gathers every item in the place. Everything in there has a story. Very glad I wandered in there and will make it a point t to return when I'm back in Tempe. read more

Yucatecan Imports - Lasts a long time with daily wear! - Jewelry Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

For the life of me, I do not understand why more locals don't know about this precious Tempe gem or why it's seriously lacking in yelp reviews. This place is my sanctuary whenever I need new bags/blankets/textiles, jewelry, knick-knacks, and all other worldly finds that you can possibly dream of. I love coming here to splurge on my loved ones around the holidays!!! Perhaps that's just an excuse for getting a little something for myself as well lol. Anyway, I moved out of the state 2 years ago (& am currently in town) & was extreeeeemely nervous that they might be out of business but ALAS! They continue to thrive despite being tucked away in a teeny-tiny courtyard hardly visible to the naked eye on Mill Avenue. Check this family-owned business out. Their prices are affordable & they collect/sell items from over 30 different countries, I believe. And if you happen to be a world explorer yourself with an upcoming trip on the horizon, it never hurts to ask whoever's in the shop for some travel pointers. Ugh.....I love this place. It's so dangerous for me lmao. By the way, I've never been there but I heard they have another (and even larger) location in the Paradise Valley mall. Okay!!!!! Don't be a ditz & go check em out! Bye!!! read more

Every time I'm in here, I try to talk the owners into hiring me, and sending me around the world to buy treasures for the store. No luck yet, but I am not discouraged. Love the variety of items you'll find here, from clothes and accessories, to jewelry, to home decorations! They also have little knick-knacks, including coins from other countries! Everything they sell is authentic and purchased directly by the owners during their international travels. Prices are fair for the items, and quality is never lacking. If you think something's too expensive, don't forget the people who make these items are being paid fairly (unlike laborers who supply things for Target and Cost Plus World Market). I do wish the store was located in an area with more foot traffic. It's tucked inside a courtyard off of Mill Ave. If they had more street exposure, I'm sure they'd do more business! I'm a big fan of Yucatecan Imports so I definitely want them to make money and stay in business. I like to buy Christmas and birthday gifts here because I always find something unique and special. Don't forget, cash only!!! Park behind the courtyard instead of trying to find something on Mill. read more

Awesome goods. Nice people! Check this store at and adjacent to it is an awesome clothing store as well read more

Now this place is an absolute hidden gem! It's on Mill Ave, between a few shops & easily missed. I'm glad we went and explored a bit and stumbled upon this place. Everything sold here is from an exotic country. The place is family-owned; the owners-a sister and her 2 brothers are the ones that go to these out of the way places to get the items themselves! It was so nice chatting with Paige, one of the owners of this establishment. She had such wonderful stories of each of the different countries she had visited and of each of the pieces that they had at the store. My favorite was of her visit to Nepal & Mt Everest. I wish I had been able to take some pictures of the beautiful treasures in this place. (phone died, lol.) All items were hand-made and unique of a certain country. They had little satchels made in Africa, wooden sculptures from Thailand, those beautiful Mardi Gras type of masks from Italy, little tokens from Nepal, dresses from Mexico, Japanese artwork, and so many other lovely things from all over the world! I can't wait to come back and see the new things that they've brought back, and of course hear new and more of the awesome stories and adventures of how and where they got them! If you're ever in Tempe, you need to stop by and check this place out! Next time, I'll take some pictures to share! read more

I first happened upon this store when I complimented this guy's shirt a while back at Shady's. It was a SWEET white Guatemalan tunic with turquoise accents. The guy looked at me funny, told me he got it at Yucatecan Imports. Knowing that he got it from some obscure place - and that the chances of someone else having that same shirt would be very slim (only him) -- that's all it took for me to be sold on this place. Note: In case you're wondering where Yucateca is -- it's right between Canadia and Dumbassia. I was there THAT weekend, seeking out the store - tucked all incognito-like in the Mill Avenue Shops spanish-style courtyard. Of course, that tunic was NOWHERE to be found. That would be too perfect, right? But I found a really cool specialty Latin import store in the process with a bunch of goodies for the seasoned ethnic collector. Most everything is hand-woven: wallets, clothing, necklaces, bags, etc. And nearly everything is from Mexico, Central and South America - with some items from Thailand, Tibet, India and Turkey. The owner is a serious importer and a friendly guy too. I don't find this store as comprehensive as my other favorite import store - Suenos on 7th St., but I find it very worthy nevertheless. read more

Wandered in this jewel of a shop today during the Yelp Scavenger Hunt and wow! I can't wait to come back and buy some goodies. The owner is extremely friendly and is good at reading a person's tastes. He noticed my necklace and was quick to point out other Judaica I might like. He clearly loves his shop and all the items found therein. And boy is it full of colorful stuff! It's a bit off the beaten path of Mill Ave, but certainly worth a stroll over. read more

Fantastic discovery. And to find out he's been there for 20 years and I never knew. Literally has a little bit of everything and a story to go with each one. I will be back read more

I have been going here off and on since 2002. I cannot say how much I love this shop. I get a happy feeling every time I come in here. The last visit was in March of 2019. I'm going to continue to come here, hopefully more often than I have in the past. I've purchased various statues, a singing bowl, little satchels. If I could I would buy out the whole store. This weekend I am going to stop in to get a couple Ganesha statues or something. I love Ganesha, he has gotten me through many rough times. Mr. Poulson knows I admire Lord Ganesha because I'll stand for several minutes trying to figure out what to get. About a year ago I purchased a small carved statuette. In March I didn't get anything Ganesha related but I did get hair scrunchies, three for $5. The one I purchased in 2002 has faded and has lost its elasticity. Thank you again sir for your wonderful shop! read more

This store has such a variety of imports all cramped in a store not much bigger than my bedroom at home. They don't have a back room, so what you see is what you get. I haven't ever really bought a vast amount of items here, but it is still fun to look around. They have a wide assortment of ponchos (I love the ones with the llamas on them), cute purses/bags, jewelry and knick -knacks. The prices are pretty affordable, too. And don't forget to get your free bracelet when you go there..."one per customer, per lifetime". I think I have five. read more

First off, it's a family owned business AND is fair trade. :) They carry imports from all over the world, Albania to Tibet. It's unique because unlike chain stores such as "World Market", they purchase crafts straight from the people that make them and most of the items are handmade, not factory made. It's definitely a place to buy that special gift for someone. I wanted a lot of items, especially this Thai dragon that is made from thread I believe but it's very durable and can be a sculpture or hang on your bookcase, really quite something. I ended up buying some WWII Eastern European items and some Tibetan incense for a friend. Come in, you won't be disappointed. :) (Just wish they had more locations.) read more

This is the best place for unique jewelry:) I love how it's in this hidden part on mill ave

i've been coming here for jewelry for years and 5 stars is not even enough. i love this place so much! i've taken all my friends and they've told their friends about it too, the owner is so cool and the jewelry he brings back from his travels are authentic from egypt, turkey and various places in the middle east. and it's located in such a cute spot too. once they gave me a tiny evil eye to keep my pocket for protection. i almost cried because it meant so much to me that they were looking out for me spiritually. you guys have my heart forever and ever and your necklaces are so beautiful and so reasonably priced for the handpicked selection they have. will always come back and tell more people about it! read more

What? A cultural store in the state of Arizona? You mean one besides the touristy Native American ones on every corner? Indeed you heard me correctly. For the longest time, I never even knew this store existed! It is somewhat hidden, located in the courtyard next to/behind Fatburger on Mill. I have been in there twice and I was amazed within the first 10 seconds, the first time I went in. This shop is very unique, very interesting. They have stuff from many different countries, the man will tell you that when you walk in. He will also give you a tour of the small store. I got one both times I went, it was great. I remember in particular the little things carved out of nuts, it's weird yet utterly amazing! They have so many different things; jewely, purses, beads, rings, trinkets, doo-dads, thingamagigs, etc. But seriously, it's great. The next thing I am going to get there is some kind of Elephant purse/handbag. Absolutely a great place to stop by if you are near Mill Ave. Very interesting and an awesome place for those of us in in the Valley that actually admire Culture. read more

The coolest, most unique shop in Arizona. Yucatan Imports is quietly nestled in a nice little garden area off Mill Ave. by the custom t-shirt shops and is definitely worth a look. Everytime I walk in the guy behind the counter is super nice and friendly and offers alot of knowledge about the items in the store. There is just so much amazing stuff here, the Singing bowls and prayer wheels from Tibet are my favorite and Everything in the store is hand selected and imported by the owner. They also have the best selection of Hemp bracelets I've found to date. Very cool. read more

I give this establishment 5 stars, because it's owner-operated and not run by bubble-heads texting who think they're above you. The owners' stories are the best part of the shopping experience. They purchase from small villages not huge conglomerate warehouses. So they are supporting lifestyles and bringing much needed essentials to people, like food and water. The love and gratitude that goes into each piece produced (usually by hand) is apparent! Local materials are obviously used and the colors are magnificent! I come here every time I need gifts. Did I mention that the cost is unbelievably inexpensive? Kudos to shop owners who support small village people and cultures. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! Owner is a Jerk I had made a request far a large amount of product for some of my clients and he wouldn't even give me a chance to email him or discuss my requests, insisted I come into the store, as if I dont work 8 hours a day. This store has a huge variety of amazing trinkets, jewelry, artwork, and clothes from all corners of the world. I very much like this store too, however, since the World's most horrific animal sacrifice just took place in Nepal, anything made in Nepal is in the trash. Nepal is now in the sewer. These maniacal savages just butchered thousands of animals in their arena of death, all in front of each other, with animals whining, screaming and trembling in fear. They are mystic ignorant blood thirsty savages that flock to killing festival sacrifices. No more Nepal for me. I'll buy your other goods but not Nepal and of course NOT China. read more
