Came here for a team dinner since the reviews were pretty good. Ended up disappointing. Took forever for our food. The service was decent. The food is mediocre. If we waited that long we were hoping it would have been worth the wait. But it was not.

We came here as a group for a pre-birthday celebration. The owner and staff were very gracious and made us feel at home. Yubi has a quaint vibe and is tastefully decorated. The owner/chef has an extensive culinary background, having worked at some top NYC restaurants. We had a variety of appetizers- all delicious. I would definitely return for dinner. This is a true gem in the heart of JC.

Love, love, love this spot!! We hope this restaurant stays in business for years to come -- they have the perfect selection of appetizers and entrees and it's a cute little place you'd never expect to pop up on the block with so many places closing We had the meatballs and calamari appetizers and they were delish! The right serving sizes and the sauce is really good! Not too sweet or tart. Everything tastes really fresh! They had a special lobster ravioli which I recommend - it's not an overwhelming fishy flavor and they served it in a mild white sauce that was really comforting. The wait staff is really great - attentive and always replenishes your drinks and accommodates your needs and your party. I would only want this eatery to get a liquor license so they can serve drinks - so it's BYOB but sometimes you don't want to walk around with booze on you just to go out to dinner lol Totally recommend bringing the family here and a pack of friends. You won't be disappointed!

My partner and I walked past this place on my usual route and realized a new restaurant had opened up on Newark Ave! At first impression, the interior was very cozy and comfortable. It's dimly lit but not too dark, and there are screens with fireplace images replaying throughout the restaurant. Every table has a small candle so it's a nice place for date night and a candle lit dinner. Service was great, and the servers were very attentive. We were given a choice of red or white wine as complimentary drinks for opening week- they also gave us refills! Garlic bread with marinara dip was also served complimentary at the start of the meal. We ordered calamari as an appetizer which was crunchy and good without too much batter. I just wish it were a tad bit hotter when it came out, but I could just be nit picking. We then got the seafood pasta and the carbonara. Flavor was very good, but the pasta was not al dente and seemed a bit too soft for my usual liking. If they fixed that, it would taste a lot better! Portions are not on the big side, but the carbonara is pretty heavy on the cream so it'll fill you up quick. Overall, I had a good experience here and I'd come again. This was only opening week, so I have high hopes for how they'll improve in the near future. I'm excited to have a cute and nice Italian dine in restaurant in this area now, and happy to support!

I came here with a friend for her birthday. It was great we had a wonderful time. The staff here is amazing ready to cater to all your needs. Before you even need anything they are coming to check on you, clearing the table before the next part of the meal. It was wonderful service from the whole team. The food was amazing. It was honestly great pasta the grilled chicken on the salad was great. Everything was made to perfection. It's a small intimate BYOB place. I would recommend for a girls night or a date night. I would say it's better for smaller groups 4 or less and great for couples. I will definitely be back.

Great Italian food for a good price. The staff here is so friendly and welcoming. Sandwiches are $10 and come with fries. Pasta dishes range from $12-18. Absolutely worth it. Also byob. Highly recommend!

10/10!!! My fiancé and I tried Yubis tonight and we were SO impressed. The atmosphere is so nice and cozy! The service exceeded our expectations. Jackson was the nicest and most attentive server we ever had. The food was SO good and fresh. We are already dreaming of our next dinner at Yubis.

This is a niche, even unassuming, option on the menu, but the ingredients alone are intriguing and suit my taste perfectly. The pizza was baked to order and eaten fresh; the heat and smoky aroma were satisfying. The crust was thin, yet still achieved a perfect balance of crispy crust and soft, chewy interior. A thin layer of cheese provided just the right amount of creaminess; the Brussels sprouts offered a subtle yet rich flavor, while the salty umami of the marinated anchovies occasionally shined and, accompanied by a very subtle hint of brinyness - seafood lovers will appreciate it. A squeeze of lemon juice brought a refreshing twist to the pizza, making it a perfect accompaniment to seafood. However, a touch of lemon was recommended; otherwise, the acidity will overwhelm all the layers of flavor.

My only complaint is the tight spaces , you're all up in each others spaces but it's not all bad. Also we ordered our kids Shirley temples and they charged us for "mocktails" meaning they were $7 each! For some sprite and a few cherrie?! Excessive! You've been warned lol. For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

Both were great and cooked perfectly. The quality of ingredients were a standout in both of the dishes. Pork pampanella was the most tender pork I've ever had. Basically melted in your mouth. This was a fun play on potato skins. Some of the pasta had the baccala while others had the potato mascarpone. Although entertaining, it was less memorable than the other dishes. The smoked paprika pork shoulder was a dish that could feed 4. It's a massive cut of meat. While I did enjoy this, I needed more of polenta or a sauce. As anticipated it was very meat forward ;) For dessert I highly recommend their classic olive oil cake. This was moist and had a small Tablespoon of a guava sauce. For $10 don't miss this. The salted chocolate cake was a bit dry, but satisfied the sweet tooth. This went well with a double espresso. We stayed until closing and in fact were seated 15 mins past closing. Our waiter was kind and charming. He gave us his recommendations. Despite the menu being small and rotational, it always feels like there is something new and exciting to try.
