I happened to stumble upon Yoyo's Botaneria as I was picking up Chai Thai on the same block. Place looked very inviting with outdoor seating, bright and welcoming interior. This first visit I decided to get a mango-passionfruit agua fresca...refreshing on a hot day but a tad sweet (for me) so let the ice melt a bit. Nevertheless, delicious. Yo-yo's Botaneria offers varies sweet and savory snacks with their popular items: YUCATECAN MARQUESITAS - Mexican crepe, filled with different sweet fillings, including condensed milk or queso de bola (edam cheese) and rolled. EMPAPELADOS - protein (shrimp, bacon, asada, chorizo or veggie) on a base of corn, mayonnaise, cotija cheese, butter, lime, salsa macha. NOTE: If you have a nut allergy, they have a salsa macha using peanuts vs pepitas. This Mexican condiment is spicy, smoky, nutty made with a base of oil, dried chilies, garlic, and salt. Items I'll need to try next time along with their strawberry horchata! The gentleman at the counter was truly helpful, friendly and patient explaining their offerings. They've been at the new location on Mission for about 3 months moving from a kitchen incubator located on E14th. Now they have their own brick-and-mortar in a beautiful space. Plenty of indoor and outdoor (some shaded) seating with a private lot and street parking. Great spot to enjoy your treats with this warm weather.

So you know when you have those moments when you are exposed to something new and you think, where has this been all my life? That just happened to me here at Yoyo's. First, the place is so cute, bright and fresh. The decor is adorable! They have a great patio for a sunny day. I ordered the pineapple guava Agua fresco and it was really good. Then I had the Camarones Empapolado. It was rich in flavor with plenty of mushrooms, peppers, shrimp and corn - topped with mayo and cotija cheese. Lastly I had to have a marquesita with strawberries and Nutella. I was so quick to get into that that I forgot to take a picture. The service was great! Super friendly. I cannot wait to come back and try all the other things on the menu, especially the different micheladas.

Wanted something sweet and found this place on yelp. Not busy when we came in and it was clean and cute, all the staff were very nice especially the cashier. I asked about the Marquesitas and he said that they ran out of strawberries so he gave me other suggestions and I ended up getting one with nutella and banana, and my fiancé got the guava pineapple agua fresca. I thought the marquesita was just gonna be a crepe rolled up but it tasted a little different and the texture was crunchy (be careful i accidentally cut the roof of my mouth) but it was still good, I think next time I wanna try one with the cheese because it was very similar to a crepe but crunchy. The guava drink was so good too, we would definitely come back and try some other things on the menu.

Found this place through TikTok! When social media leads you to great places! Yay. We came to try their Marquesitas & then also tried their Fresada. I will admit that the Fresada was not my favorite. It was a bit sour and just didn't hit the right spot for me. The Marquesita was great! Mine, somehow, was a bit crunchier than the other person who I was with. Not a big deal but I just had to be more careful. This place is really cute, it's pretty spacious. They have some outdoor seating & will bring you your order. They also give you the Marquestias in these cute ceramic containers. The presentation is great. I didn't have a chance to interact much with the staff, but the cashier left a great impression. She was kind and welcoming. She helped us figure out what we wanted and made sure we really knew what each item was. This was a great experience and i'm so happy to see their business thriving and flourishing!

You must tey the seasonal items! The unique flavors of coconut atole and nuez atole and the soft tamales are a must. Stop by before they go away!

I've normally intended to write a review but my food gets swallowed up before I get the chance to remember! This place is good vibes! Mexican bachata music jamming typically! At this moment, it's "Bailando Bachata" by Chayanne. To thrive as a snack spot in these parts where there are also nearby botanerias is amazing. There are plants and decor that make you want to stay and dine in. They also have an outdoor space where a DJ has come by to set the mood! Tip! Please do yourself a favor and go to the salsa bar and try out those toppings to add a little bit of crunch or spice to your savory snacks! I love the pumpkin seed salsa macha (I think it's called)!!! They take and deliver your orders with a kind smile. It's hard to resist Yoyo's! My faves: -Rusa Preparada (grapefruit drink with chamoy on the side) -Piña Guava (another refreshing drink) -Empapelados (shrimp or veggie)

Ate outside which was such a nice day . Everyone was super friendly and recommended items . Definitely a place to visit when you want just something to snack on . Doesn't fill you up but a meal in between a meal .

I stopped by Yoyo Botaneria and decided to try their guava drink. Overall, it was just okay--not bad, but nothing that really impressed me. The flavor was mild and refreshing enough, but it didn't have that wow factor I was hoping for. The presentation was nice, and the staff was friendly, so the experience itself was pleasant. I might come back to try something else, but the guava drink alone isn't enough to make me a regular. Decent spot if you're in the area, but don't expect anything extraordinary.

Liked the little spot. Had the crepe Nutella strawberry. I'm used to the softness of it so the crunch was really different. It was just a bit TOO crunchy and hard for me but it was still good. Would rather have it a little softer. Also had the corn in the cup which was really good! Would love to come back and try other things! Service was great and fast!

We were brought fresh tortilla chips to start, which were great, along with a Lazy Susan-style setup of salsas and toppings. Unfortunately, this was a bit of a miss for me--there were raw onions, raw jalapeños, a green salsa, and more of a plain red hot sauce rather than a true salsa. I would have preferred something more traditional like a good pico de gallo or a more balanced house salsa. Ordered a bottle of Dos Equis, which at $7 felt a bit steep. Most entrées were priced between $17-$25, which is pretty standard. I had the carnitas and they were excellent--really flavorful and well-prepared. I also tried a bite of the chile relleno, which was solid as well. Overall, the food was good and the service was strong. That said, it's a bit out of the way for me, and while I enjoyed it, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

We arrived around 4:30 on a Sunday and were seated in the bar area. After waiting 10-15 minutes with no water, chips, or salsa, we still had no idea who was supposed to be serving us. The bartenders never acknowledged us, and nobody stopped by to even say, "We'll be right with you" or thank us for our patience. Eventually, someone came over and asked if we were ready to order. Our food arrived almost right away, but my fiancé realized his added carne asada was missing. The waiter didn't bring it out until he was nearly finished with his meal because he never rang it in.. I ordered the combination fajitas, and they were just okay. The entire time, there was a woman walking around in a blazer who appeared to be a manager, but she seemed more focused on training the bartender than checking on guests. Had she been paying attention, she would have clearly seen how frustrated we were. When our server finally brought the check, we noticed we had been charged twice for the chilaquiles, plus separately for the carne asada that didn't even arrive with the meal. After another 5 minutes, I flagged down who I believe was the manager to fix the bill. She corrected it and brought it back, but then we were left waiting another 5-10 minutes for our server to actually process the payment. The waiter never even thanked us before we left. Overall, the experience was incredibly disappointing, especially considering how much we enjoyed this place in the past. Neither of us plans to return.
