My personal trainer (PT) was good (it was not Jim Karas he doesn't train anybody). Although I'm not…read moresure she (PT) always took into consideration my age or pain threshold levels. Sometimes I felt like the sessions were not designed specifically for me, but merely following an algorithm. She knows her stuff, she was knowledgeable and friendly.
I'm not sure $165.00 an hour is justifiable...what exactly did I receive for this? Where is the tangible measuring of any progress? For this price I was looking for a full-service spectacular experience. Perhaps, more feedback, and helpful strategies. After requested, but never received another body scan the entire time I was there. How is one to measure progress by simply looking into the mirror. Really Dumb, for a business with someone's namesake, and supposedly knows so much about fitness.
I felt the facility with one bathroom was okay. It's gross that the mats and rollers are not sanitized after each client, or equipment. Large towels would have helped so I didn't have to lay in filth, and other peoples body secretions. Flu, Covid, RSV, etc., seems it should be a priority, but it is not.
It's kind of frustrating having the trainers always working out when I was there. It's great that they get a free place to workout, but the space should be readily available for paid clients, and equipment should always be available to them.
When I saw Jim Karas, at times he was friendly, and other times I was ignored. Not too smart for an owner of a business with his namesake (lost my revenue for both businesses) his cryotherapy business across the street. I don't support businesses where I don't feel valued. As for the manager, his interactions towards me were often condescending. I want to feel welcomed and inspired when I spend this kind of coin, which I didn't.
He asked me one-time about noise, I said, I don't really listen to the music, but when Pat slams the weights to the floor it's distracting and similar to that of a " Bro's gym," 5 minutes later he did the exact same thing.
Ultimately, demonstrating he could give a sh*t. If they are going to ask folks for their opinions don't simply blow smoke up their as*es, and act as if they care, clearly he did not.
I would recommend my PT, but the entire process is flawed with little tangible measuring of any progress, sanitation protocols were non-existent, but as for JKPT, you can find a better facility with an owner who is actually cares, and spends actual time and effort on a business with their namesake.
Lastly, I copied my requested email feedback to Jim, PT, and the manager, because I don't talk about people behind their backs, I deplore second hand misinformation, and I stand by everything I say. Of course, there was zero effort to reach out after spending nearly 6 months at this place, and giving an honest and detailed review. I'm left to think this merely a business to cash in a his so-called fame.
